  1. I realize I'm setting myself up here, but other than the display bug, what other exploits are you referring to?
  2. More than annoying. Truly detrimental to anyone who doesn't realize that the last 5 display may not be accurate. We've been trumpeting awareness and pushing to have that fixed since day 1!
  3. Highest outstanding bid. That's the next transaction spot when someone comes in as a low seller. The counterpart is LOO (lowest outstanding offer), which is the first transaction spot when a high bidder enters the system.
  4. Well, it depends on what you are looking to do. Let's take LotG 7.5% for an example. Right now the lowest bid in the last 5 for recipes is 7.006.001, which is repeated, so I would guess that's the HOB. You could bid 7.006.002 and wait until you bought one (only 35 are offered, and it would probably take over 8mm to buy it now). Then you could buy 2 rare salvage, 1 uncommon, 2 common and craft at level 25. Let's call that total cost of 8.5-9mm. Or you could insta-buy an attuned IO for 7mm. (That's the price at this moment, but generally ranges from 6-8mm). If I wanted an attuned 7.5%, which I do occasionally, I would put in bids for one of the less used of the LotG set, like the E/R. I'd bid maybe just over 4mm. Then when I bought it, I'd spend on average 15 converters to make it into the 7.5%. Now, depending on your faith on averages, you might want to do this with a block of 10, and sell the spares. It all depends. I know that's a terrible and unhelpful answer to give, but unfortunately it's true.
  5. This thread: A Play in One Act Powerwalker: Boy, I love powerwalking! It's easily the best way to get around from place to place! Imma gonna win all kinds of races against those stupid regular walkers! Race official: Actually, it's not powerwalking, legally, unless you have one foot on the ground at all times. Otherwise it's jogging. Sorry, but you can't jog in a powerwalking race. Powerwalker: UNFAIR! Race official: Noted. We think it's best for the racing community. Powerwalker: C'MON RACE OFFICIAL! I DON'T HAVE TIME TO POWERWALK BY YOUR DEFINITION! Cowman: Um, hey, if you need to get somewhere, I can give you a lift in my car. Powerwalker: CARS SUCK! POWERWALKING FASTER! Cowman: Well, not really. Say, would you like me to give you a car? And driving lessons? No charge. You mentioned you were pressed for time. Powerwalker: NERF CARS!!! NONE SHOULD BE FASTER THAN POWERWALKERS! CARS RUIN THE ENVIRONMENT AND SHOULD BE BANNED! Walker: You know, I'm just fine with this. Go on and walk as fast as you want, I'm just enjoying the scenery. Cowman: You're right, the scenery is nice. Powerwalker: ...
  6. Since I'm done offering encouragement, and since I'm not a car person... I think that @Luminarawas pretty spot on? Maybe you are not familiar with the reference. It's about a spoiled child with no patience. Here's a video for your viewing pleasure:
  7. I only recently started playing around with corruptors. Conventional wisdom is if you are a power gamer you are better off as a blaster or a defender, but I recently made a handful as part of a theme. I think, much like defenders, some are really good and some are really crap. There can be a very large discrepancy in playability. Whereas scrappers, for example, are generally within a performance band regardless of power selection, themed corruptors can be great or really painful to play.
  8. I think the cost should be free. 1. Select server. 2. Create character. 3. ... 4. Profit! If you wanted a higher level character, then I think the test server still allows insta-levelling? Try it out first.
  9. I had the “feeling bad” part surgically removed.
  10. I've always viewed the Momentum mechanism of TW as an "annoyance" tax and a trade-off for its higher damage. I'd hate to see it go away.
  11. I'm all for people selling things at 1 inf, but in my experience you are unlikely even to get 50% of "fair" value. Exceptions might be for stuff like Winter Os and purples, where selling an avalanche for 1 inf *might* net you 20mm. It all depends on what the outstanding bids are, and if my bids are any indication, those bids are going to be as low as possible! Ebil doesn't grow on trees you know!
  12. I've noticed that one or more people tend to do a lot of crafting on Sunday nights. A LOT. I think that's what causes the drop in prices in the early part of the week, since those bulk posts seem to be at pretty low prices.
  13. That was a sly nod to Sir Elton Munkilord. When the display bug is in force, people see a last 5 that generally runs in the 15-17mm range. I'll always sell you one at 5mm, but I'm happier to sell them for 15-17mm. EDIT: case in point
  14. I strongly disagree, although I don't sell recipes very often. I vehemently disagree if you replace "recipes" with "set IOs". I've been playing around with a speed run and lots of things that habitually trade ~4-6mm have HOBs well under 1mm.
  15. You know, my initial response was, "Wha? The devs invented something that drastically makes this game easier for anyone who wants to use it, and people are complaining because it's not easy ENOUGH?!?" Then I checked myself. You really weren't complaining, and it's no skin off my nose. Carry on!
  16. I'm tempted to say we should split the difference and leave things unchanged.
  17. Based on a relatively small sample set, I think purples drop too frequently. More specifically, I think they are dropping faster than people are slotting them. I'd like to see their drop rates cut in half or more.
  18. This is the only meaningful part. All you have to do is care and you end up with hundreds of billions of inf and several thousands of Winter-Os. P.S.: I love books too.
  19. At this point, I'm only offering encouragement on the Market forum, if anyone wants to go there. Here, I've finally given up and am resigned to feeling derision and mocking people who lack rudimentary math skills. I can only take cold comfort in my belief that with respect to the current system, the devs will not further kowtow to the lowest common denominator.
  20. I posted this in another thread: That's for selling. Here's the equivalent for buying: 1. Buy it NAO. Even this requires a little effort, since you have to bid at least as high as what someone is offering at, and if there are no offers, you are out of luck. Generally, just look at the last 5 and bid something well above the high end of the range. This is what keeps the Miracle proc market humming. In the example of last 5 trades: 10mm, 9mm, 10mm, 5mm, 8mm, I'd say a buy it NAO price would be at or above the high end of that range. 2. Buy it almost NAO, aka bid creeping. I suggest that if you really don't care what price you pay, start your bidding at 1mm and increase by 1mm until you get it. If you are even more patient, then estimate where the offers might be and cut your bid increments to 100,000. In the example given, I'd start at 10mm. 3. Buy it VERY SOON(tm). There is very little difference between this and #4. You want to catch the next reasonable offer, but you understand that the next reasonable offer might not be someone blowing out their inventory. In this case, I'd bid somewhere in the 7-9mm range; you are not trying be the lowball bid, but if someone comes in and offers at a "reasonable" price you will be well situated. And if someone dumps you will be first in line. 4. Buy it SOON(tm). You want to be the highest outstanding bid, so when someone comes in and dumps their inventory at 5 inf, you are beating out the previous outstanding bid. In this case, bid something just above 5mm. 5. Buy it LATER. You really don't know if 5mm is the highest outstanding bid or not, just that it traded there. If you put in a lower bid, you may get lucky and if there is enough product offered then any higher bids will get filled and unless new bids come in, you may eventually get filled. Put something in the 3-5mm range and hope, but don't hold your breath.
  21. The best part of this 1300+ entry thread is the clear demonstration that people dump things they don't want for practically nothing into the /AH, pay prices that they think are too high for the things they do want on the /AH, and never seem to realize they are buying back exactly what they dumped. Now THAT, my friends, is rich, in several meanings of the word!
  22. Do Black Scorpion's patron arc solo on an Archery/Pain Corruptor. Lethal v. Malta. Ouchie.
  23. I started thinking about things that we fear, and many of us fear aging. This got me thinking about undead in old D&D lore that would either drain levels or age you in years if they touched you. Pretty scary. Meet Uabhas Wraith, a Dark/Dark stalker. I'm looking forward to building him out.
  24. I'm terribly sorry that you feel that 20+mm is expensive for the most high-end items in the game. I cannot imagine how you got a character to level 50 without accumulating at least enough to buy a set of purples. If you want to play chess, that's great! We're giving free chess lessons, and frankly, those lessons are pretty good. But please stop asking us to play tic-tac-toe and call it chess.
  25. Also, that was not any sort of a judgment call. I just liked saying "Cyndi Lauper rich".
