Contacts and the Outleveling Issue
SwitchFade replied to Emperor Cole's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Im sorry, you are incorrect. Please review the statement you are replying to again, without editing to support a fallacy, as it is factually accurate. Further, as I previously stated, there is a converse case where some story arcs allow completion, albeit outleveled; which is FURTHER evidence. You may be misinformed, as it is conclusive stated fact that the architecture of the game does not allow LEVEL SCALING of MOBs, exactly as described. I recommend reading the thread for relevant discussion. Additionally, I would also recommend being more civil, as declaring something "utter nonsense" (especially when not you are not actually correct) is not merely bad form, but bad ettiquite. -
Allow special characters to be used on naming
SwitchFade replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
私の名前はくどうしにちです はじめまして!よろしくおねがいします! That's why I have to no vote this. Sounds fun, but it would be impossible to invite me to teams, respond to me, or even know what my name is, in most cases もしわけございません。 Very sorry, I must vote no. -
Contacts and the Outleveling Issue
SwitchFade replied to Emperor Cole's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's been discussed, commented on by players and devs and explained in multiple other threads, as I mentioned. We already know what it takes to do it, how it would have to be done and the resource investment. Anything is possible, but as i said, rewriting the game is not going to happen, which is why this particular topic is a non-starter. -
Contacts and the Outleveling Issue
SwitchFade replied to Emperor Cole's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Regardless of reason in practice this is not going to happen for a few reasons. Contacts and the missions they give are level range specific, due to the enemies in that range. Because of this, eventually you are going to move beyond the range where say, hellions, are a challenge. As discussed in numerous other threads, enemy factions cannot be arbitrarily scaled up to 54, or down to 1, not only does this break lore and timeline, but the foes would be ridiculously over/underpowered. Conversely, there are story arcs in the game that do not get locked out once you start them, but you outlevel the foes. The result, if you have experienced it, is for example a level 42 hero fighting lvl 17 MOBs. The sum is, the game does not have the architecture for this and the time necessary to actually do this would be prohibitive. Not only that, it would mean changing more than you would think, resulting in the inevitable issues and bugs. Sorry, I have to say no vote, not because the idea is bad, but because the execution would require far too much investment for far too little return and break many other things. -
I believe he meant if you just don't engage the rikti, and stand under anything, they don't spawn on you. If you keep moving they don't spawn on you. Several zones have geometry that places you high enough that you're in range of the ship while on the ground, which I'm sure you know. So, really the issue is specific: drop ship pathing and police drones next to trainers in "safe" areas.

issue 26 Patch Notes for April 21st, 2020
SwitchFade replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Thanks again for the fix! I rerolled my DP from live, this time temporal instead of mental. Sadly, DP is still quite low damage compared to everything but AR. I love the concept and the look of the toon and set, but I feel so weak... Oh, Dual BB Guns how sweet you could have been! -
Is it Saturday?

You basically just said: I is Troll.

/Jverysorrynovote Very sorry.

Ok fine. /Jhardnovote

Having played grav a bunch, here's why many melee players dislike it Wormhole takes forever, and it usually lands MOBs in the wrong place. If I'm running in to kill stuff and wormhole is cast chances are it moves them away from me, or things are already dead, so, wasted. Conversely I may have to wait around while the Grav sets all his tricks up to get everything just right to move MOBs so that debu.... Facepalm *runs in* Immobs are used poorly quite frequently, holding enemies out of range. All AoE wasted, run from Target to target. Example tank runs in, scraps in tow... TAUNT! Alpha! Immob. Damn. Everything is out of melee range. WP gets no Regen bonus. Invuln gets no def bonus. AoE is wasted. Singularity... Throws everything around. Sigh, run from foe to foe... Again. Kind you, I'm not saying this is everyone's perspective, or mine, but it's valid and why grav is groaned at, as well as other controller sets.

Try water/SR, fully io'd and incarnate I run at +4/8, always take the alpha, nuke up every 23 seconds+whirlpool and steamspray is just huge AoE. I run into a group, hit BU, drop whirl, nuke, and steam, minions all dead, Lt's at 1/5th or dead and a few ST attacks to finish them, on the the next group. People are shocked at how good it is when I'm in before the tank, blow up the room before anyone can get there and moving to the next group. It's really good 😊

Look for the build I explained in a thread in this section for dual blades/energy aura.

So it looks like the tally this far is, 1. END rework, slightly less costly 2. Heal rebalance 3. Unique mechanic/flavour improvement by power to allow for usefulness and variety 4. Profit.

Fellow heroes, Heroines and trolls of all forms! The answer here is truly: Revamp contacts, introductions and choices. Refresh the contacts window into a "Hero Signal" akin to Dick Tracy's watch. Grant us a summary list similar to what ouro has, that names the story arc and when selected puts the compass on contact. Relink contact hand offs to give a choice of anything in the level range, with the story arc description in the hand off text body, like a preview of the next comic issue "next week Dr Stinkyfoot fights the vile Garbage Gobbler!" Show out leveled contacts as grey, and direct people to ouro to "reread a past comic issue!" Create a small one box text tutorial on entering the City that simple shows the new "Hero Emergency Transmitter," how to use it and why. Now, we all get story arc "comic issue" descriptions of what contacts have, we get hand offs or just use the Hero Transmitter and we know where to go to reread an old issue. This will help Vets and most important, it will give new players a very rich and engaging experience!

Holy thread Necro!

Once created, toon sets are hard coded, currently. So, not possible now. This would be "rerolling."

I'm very sorry, but I cannot support this. The slippery slope is real, one step leads to another and eventually we're and instanced only Mobile Arena.

Yes but, do you like pie?

New Flight and Recharging SFX Mods now in!
SwitchFade replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
ありがとうございます! While I don't use mods, I'm sure people will love it! Top drawer. I wonder if we've come far enough that flight poses can be made alternates for fly on costume creater? There were issues on live precluding this. Devs? -

おはようございます! I'm not sure if your name was going for "Night Princess" 夜姫 or "According," よるひーめ。 It would be nice for the pet to be more persistent, however that is accomplished, agreed. ガンバる! -
Sorry, you're incorrect. Colorful colloquialisms do little to aid your cause. And, there's a vast chasm between my previous responses that you are incorrect, showing you your factual errors and your responses that were egregiously brazen, such as instructions to "read the damned" so on. Regardless of what you may think, you have not given any valid objection to an END redux, save "because it's fine," which I already mentioned I respect. Further, your SINGLE objection is valid and should be considered. Unfortunately, you've chose to hold fast to the fallacy of logic you have espoused thus far. Clearly, facts will not dissuade you of your current course, regardless of the precariously awkward light your narrative has cast you in. Emotional digression does little but reveal the fault in one's claim, be it erroneous data or invalid warrant. In this case, I'm afraid you have embraced both, reverting to straw men arguments to divert from evidence. I do respect your single valid objection and hope it is included in the weighting of decision making data; however, your consistent insistence on holding fast to fallacies of logic warrant caution when giving weight to your opinions in the future.
