I recall someone once wanted to start a Twitter account - or was it Tumblr? - of bad bios and had a couple of screen shots of uh explicit ones, so yeah, that was a thing on Live. To finihs that story, it generated a bit of bad blood and the devs asked it be taken down to the poster did. I like a good bio as much as the next person, but I am not going to read a document that fills out ever last possible character count in that little window. if I have to scroll it's too long. Think of it like an attack: do you need to spam a T1 attack, or do you have few strong attacks that'll do the work in less time? And if you can write a good T9 bio, kudos!

I've done it a few times now on Excelsior (yes, PUGs), and I think each time it took some thankless handholding and careful directions ala IN ALL-CAPS PLEASE READ CHAT from the team leader. It also helped to have some Assemble The Teams along the way too. I don't think it's a mission to casually walk into, the person leading mine (I wager it was the same guy all three times) was really herding cats to get it done. But the good news - we did it! All three times. But not without some grief.

Yeah, I only learned this now too. I haven't done that one all that often though, as I often play squishies. And for some reason that one TF out of them all (maybe Aeon) seems to bring out the yellingest team leaders (and no, this wasn't all just yelling at me for dying ha ha). Not all the time mind you, just ups the odds.

I didn't get to see such stuff until HC, my older computers couldn't handle the graphics. Now I get to revel in all the shell casings littering the ground around my AR blaster and Council goons.

I've been having occasion, severe rubberbanding as of late. This morning I was running a solo cave mission and I swear I must have passed into one room like five times, only to pop back to just outside the door. Tried TPing into the room, nothing. Finally got in and then TPed like 4 times in a row. Then mapserved when I exited - which was OK, it was time to log anyway, but still.

Knowing this has been beaten like a whole herd of dead horses, and coupled with the hint someone mentioned above, I'm already camping out on the name I want for a Wind character. And it if isn't a new thing, then the name should be fine for a Stormy too.

I've door sat once or twice but overall no I do not level in AE: I don't have hours and hours to play, so door-sitting for half an hour and then having to log feels like a waste of time. Leveling a character up is where the fun is, and I learn how to play the power sets along the way. I'm not made of Inf and don't like to market (see 1), so if I rushed to 50 and then had to fill all those slots, even with just IOs, I wouldn't be able to afford it. I'm sure all this has already been said in this thread.

Hanlon's razor: never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. I know I've been on some DfB's with obvious newbies. I don't think I've ever seen any TF get griefed by someone on purpose. And hey, if they do, drop a Note on them and block them (this saved me time just last week). Sooner or later they'll get caught enough times to get them to leave after trying to grief gets boring when there's so few takers.

Off topic, but had to share the way this thread showed up on my screen.

I now want to steal some of those color schemes for new characters. Heck, I just asked it to draw "city of heroes character" and got some good ideas.

What about one of those Carnival of Shadows masks? It's a bit more face-like, just color it white on both sides.

Well hm, maybe I'll have to look into it then. I've given thought to the new IO sets for it but just didn't see something there to really catch my eye.

I started this game as a solo player, but then I got better and started PUGing and even joined an SG here and there. My schedule's too wack for SGs these days, but I can still usually PUG. Not a big fan of solo as it feels slow, unless it's an MM say. But I will sometimes knock out a Tip or two by myself if it's really dead.

Reading this thread has opened my eyes to the fact that yeah, I may have every single travel power on some toon somewhere, but not Teleport. I think it needs more work. Heck, I barely even use the teleport feature on Mystic Flight, which I should more often. More than half the time though, I get by with some combo of Sprint, Prestige Slide and an X Run power plus a cheap jetpack. I tend to only take travel powers when I have to to open up other choices within the set.
