  1. I can't speak to the popularity of Founders' Falls' Pocket D exit, but I do use the St. Martial access point as a Redsider. Adding Pocket D access for Mercy and Atlas is nice and appreciated, but maybe bringing Mercy's TUNNEL away from the Ferry and in to Upper Mercy, and adding Pocket D to TUNNEL's list of destinations may be the wiser adjustment. After all, TUNNEL has access right next to Ferries in Grandville and Cap au Diable anyway. I also like the idea of adding sewer-style entry points to bump Redside up to 4 access zones, on par with Blueside's. Yes, yes. Blueside has more zones total, but that's not Redside players' fault. But if the decision is hard-set on maintaining the 4/3 split on entrances, and not touching TUNNEL, then I'll echo that yeah . . . Kings Row and Port Oakes are the most popular access points -because- they're the low-level ones (also pretty conveniently placed due to proximity to Tram/Ferry). And to assist returning players, I'd also ask that St. Martial and Founders' Falls' (or Port Oakes and Kings Row's) doors still access Pocket D for a few months, but exits lead to Mercy and Atlas.
  2. *coughs nervously* You, uh, already expressed your agreement, @irishhawk. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/8771-waist-capes-for-male-widows/?tab=comments#comment-80576 But, hey! I don't know if we bugged @Naomi about this one in particular yet. After all, I believe Naomi's one of the newer Devs, relatively speaking, and may not have been a member of the Team back when this thread initially launched. So . . . yeah! Any input on the feasibility of this long-standing request?
  3. Given how often this (and similar) requests are made, which are technically impossible with the way things are (to the best of my current knowledge) laid out in the engine as-is . . . I think perhaps a reply I gave to a cousin-thread of this also applies here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/29004-give-widows-more-than-one-widow-uniform-slot/?tab=comments#comment-364515 It may be time to prioritize the revamp of the costume rendering systems. Remake the back-end to serve the needs and desires we have today, rather than attempt to kludged another bandaid on top of the leaning tower of patchwork.
  4. Given some of the names I've seen popping in and out of the forums here lately, and that they tend to be visiting or posting in threads which aren't visible to a regular community member, I wouldn't be surprised if they're launching something new there shortly.
  5. Honestly, an overhaul of the costume-selection system is probably overdue anyway. For the sake of the likes of server load and client-side rendering, and features like Hench&Pet Customization or being able to swap blast hardpoints or weapon models on the character rig . . . well, doing something new from the ground up might need to become a priority. And given that City of Heroes is renown for its character customization, I frankly can't think of a bigger priority. It's THE thing that made City of Heroes what it is today. Even as there are many disparate components which lead to the greater whole, this game just wouldn't be what it is without the promise of player agency in the creation of their own works of personal expression.

  7. I have no answer, @Zephyr Star, but thank you for asking this. It's been bugging me for a long, long time as well. Once we have an answer, it should probably also go in: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Superadine
  8. I think it's Autohit against NPCs, but has an Accuracy Check in PvP.
  9. First I've seen of it. WARNING! GORY: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYNNRwyYK4s So . . . darkest answer? Manticore and Sister Psyche. And hearing that Omniman character, all I can think of is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0XBGXnyejg
  10. Someone's been busy: I always thought the homicidal maniac's name was Johnny, though. I guess Jhonen Vasquez did a misspelling.
  11. Also, with Confront usually being 1.67s Cast Time, I think if nothing else is going to change, we could probably make it more enticing with a 0.67s Cast Time. Not sure we can do the same for Placate, though, as much as I'd like it. I imagine it's "balanced" around the assumption that it needs to chew up a whole 1.5s. An Invention Unique or Set Bonus which causes Placate to cast at 0.67s would be an absolute dream for me, but of course something like that could be problematic in PvP.
  12. SO MUCH VIOLENCE! I thought we were playing a cooperative game.
  13. I do think that Placate and Confront (which, @Tyrannical, you listed as "Challenge" at the end there. Whoops) could use some more versatility and add to gameplay in really interesting ways. However . . . in both cases, they would either need to be buffed, or rebalanced completely. If straight-up buffed, both of them would already push two of the best performing Archetypes in the damage-is-king meta even further ahead of the pack. I believe Devs on the Homecoming Team have said that they don't want to further empower those Archetypes right now. If we were to rebalance both Placate and Confront, to give stronger utility but reduce their overall performance by extending Recharge times or something to that effect, then the risk of alienating the players who like these powers as-is becomes a very serious risk. While the Homecoming Team has demonstrated a willingness to alienate some players in this way, it's usually in situations where those Devs feel a pressing -need- to do so. So, the short of it . . . Yes. But no. As an alternative approach, perhaps some new Invention Sets could offer improved functionality to these Powers. At least then there's an artificial opportunity cost in the form of Crafting and Slotting. Suddenly the problem of balance corrects itself (at least to a small extent) by forcing the player to choose between Slots in one place, or Slots to make Placate and Confront -do something.- Maybe future Melee Sets can be pre-balanced with better versions of Placate and Confront in mind. Use them as a trial run to see if improved versions of those Powers will be well-received while also maintaining the identities of both Archetypes. Granted, then we're faced with the issue of some players feeling betrayed that a Set has the audacity to break the "tried and true" pattern. After all, Kinetic Melee on Scrappers' lack of a normal Build Up is interesting, but not exactly popular, as I understand it. And then, after all that is said and done, a lot of players have expressed a personal appreciation of having "free picks" in their Builds, since they never feel compelled to take Placate or Confront. At the very, very least . . . we should use both of them as negative examples while developing the Support/Melee Archetype. Demonstrations of what NOT to do.
  14. Yes. That thing. I apologize if this feels like I'm putting you on the spot, @Jimmy, but I am curious if you would like to comment in an official capacity.
  15. Boop! https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/28948-jimmy-reacted-with-a-knife/
  16. I laugh, but yeah. The cut scenes tend to display super-awkwardly on my end. I'm never sure if they're working as intended and just really poorly staged, or if something is causing them to render incorrectly.
  17. What if Telekinesis had two buttons. The Toggle and a Target Location Click Use the Target Location to designate an "anchor point," spawning in an invisible pseudopet. The Toggle then attracts its target (and up to 9 other enemies who cross path with that initial target) toward that designated point. That would be so thematically appropriate for Telekinesis! (of course, on the subject of thematic appropriateness, I still think that Levitation and Telekinesis should be moved to a new Telekinetic Control Set, and two new Powers should round out Mind Control as an entirely Telepathic set, but that ship has very clearly sailed, eh?)
  18. I think it would a good Temp Power or similar out-of-the-way perk that could allow this kind of information to be shown on the map. I know back when Day Jobs were on the horizon, I assumed the likes of what we now have as Reveal or the Last Enemies Shown map features would be what the Day Jobs would unlock. Maybe it's time to visit that kind of thing as a possibility with some new Day Jobs. I'll staunchly stand behind any suggestion that makes the game more accessible or adjusts difficulty, as long as it's optional and in the player's control. Personalized game experiences are exactly the sort of thing which make up City of Heroes core identity, and expanding on them reinforces what allowed so many different people to become so passionate for this game over the years.
  19. The majority of my characters are Natural Origin for exactly this reason. I am fascinated with the human element in a setting which others often take for granted as being divorced from reality. Often times they'll call it "depressing," and I find that such an odd way to view one of the most hopeful and inspiring perspectives on the genre, themes, and setting. Similarly, I roleplay characters as existing all across the socio-economic spectrum with various cultural and political beliefs, physical and mental health conditions, and personal identities. I find having the myriad angles to explore the City universe to be deeply compelling. Then again, it's already a lens with which I've professionally operated in real life in a variety of careers, so I suppose it's not much of a leap for me. I just think it would be nice if more (role)players took the time to scratch the surface of it too. Especially the ones who are also Devs. There's a LOT of room to explore the themes inherent to "City," and not just "Heroes" in the title City of Heroes.
  20. I wanna do a series of tutorial videos, but, alas, I have no video recording or editing software!
  21. I'd absolutely be interested in seeing something with an actual focus on Toxic Damage. Lots of good potential for creativity there. We've seen a few ideas expressed in: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/13484-eco-friendly-powerset-recycling/
  22. . . . You monster. *embarks upon a journey to find @ChzBoi's unfinished Häagen-Dazs, and do what must be done*
