Things can come in different shapes/sizes and can be repurposed from their original intent. Maybe this was Dr. Aeon's toaster and he started tinkering. I do some bladesmithing on the side (less now than I used to), and found that at 2300° you could cook a frozen pizza in a forge in about 6-7 seconds. After about 15 seconds it's ignited and turns to ash. It took a couple tries to get it right, and I don't recommend blacksmithing while drinking.

Knowing you plan to play primarily in Nova form... Im guessing you were floating in Nova form blasting, shifted to human fell, and took falling damage. I would incorporate a tp bind, so it toggles off Nova form and teleports to your target so you can pop more/stygian circle/eclipse/etc. Then have a second teleport bind bringing you straight up, where you then toggle Nova form back on, so now you can use your cone/AoE blasts and get the bulk of the targets in your cone. Then pick off survivors with single target. Rinse and repeat. The first bind you can do easily enough compounding it with a toggle_off and $$ powexec_loc. The second bind you could do via a rolling bind, or just manually toggle Nova form back after the teleport.

If your a vigilante, you can also stack Fear Incarnate on top for another mag 2 fear.

Thugs/Time Thugs/Storm Robots/EA Robots/Time Robots/Kin Robots/Emp Necro/Dark Demon/EA I have these all at 50, and these all work pretty well. But you almost need to use the Numpad binds at least IMO to make a go of an MM. I'm currently leveling a Ninja/FF, with the intent of using power boosted force fields to protect the ninjas, while using the newly updated Force field powers to debuff some mobs resistance as they get sliced and diced. I think you can make a solid MM with a lot of combinations. Yes they have their limitations and I'd love to see them remove the negative level shift on pets, and they require a modicum of micromanagement, MM's work pretty well for most content (hard mode excluded).

A discussion about Gold side seems relevant in a future thread, as a lot can be said about it. I personally haven't ran a radio/newspaper mission in probably a year or more as I find them boring myself. The limited map types, repetitive npc groups (and limited NPC nams, like we should expand the list used to randomize the NPC names for radios/newspapers). I was trying to think of a means to make them more engaging and I came up with an idea...the Nemesis (not the NPC group or AV), but what if as you start doing scanners/radios you get an NPC spawning into the occasional mission that's just out to counter you, like they were going to rob so and so instead, or they heard the distress call and knowing your MO they decided to make your day hell. A scaling AV/Hero that pops up every few missions or so (but not a fixed amount of missions to keep it variable). Maybe sometimes they stay and duke it out, maybe sometimes they troll you and run away, or leave something behind like a sabotaged glowy or such, or they bring their own team of NPCs into the mission and gang up on you, or throw down with your whole team. It adds a little spice and chaos to the scanners/radios.

Yes I'm aware, I'm a retired pvper. That said if both sides had access to the same types of missions it's still equitable.

Also Bloody Bay, Siren's Call, Warburg also offer repeatable missions as well. They kind of get overlooked in general as depending on the server those zones are generally empty. I primarily play on Everlasting, and more often than not the only people that enter those zones is to get a Shivan or a Nuke. I've only encountered 2 other players once since Homecoming started in Siren's Call, despite that being a great PvP zone in design. I think the PvP repeatable missions could have more variety and flair to them. They are story wise constrained somewhat in the types of NPCs they face, but I feel if they had more engaging missions it could help to draw some people into those zones. From a story perspective I think it relevant to try to draw more connection from the PvE zones to the PvP zones and revamping the repeatable pve missions in PvP zones might be a good way to do so.

I'd argue that PI radios are broke. When's the last time you saw a DE, Nemesis, or Rikti scanner mission? Those three NPC groups are on PI, but I don't recall seeing them in a PI scanner mission. I'd even suggest since Portal Corps is in PI, the occasional Rularuu Invasion or Storm Elemental leaking through a dimensional tear would make sense for players, and better interconnect the Shadow Shard with Peregrine Island.

I've been playing my Ill/Savage quite a bit and the difference between Controller and Domi PA is significant, but so far and it's likely more so because of my build the lack of taunt hasn't been an issue. That said I thought it would be cool to take PA for a bit of a redesign in that it always spawns three phantoms, but what if it randomly rolled for an attack set for each Phantom so the result of what you got would be different with each cast. Ex. 1. Phantom Spines Phantom Ice Blast Phantom Dual Pistols Ex. 2. Phantom Dual Blades Phantom Electric Blast Phantom Battle Axe Ex. 3. Phantom Fire Blast Phantom Radiation Melee Phantom Super Strength Then they just give the Phantoms an inherent buff to give their attacks the Illusionary Damage Heal back, perhaps fixed at 66%.

Well the Cease and Desist Letter didn't work and we're back for week 2 of these unofficial sessions. Now that you're totted out and and ready to get back to work being the villain of your very own story, or pretending to be a hero just for the influence what do you do when you've stopped the Council for the 1,000th time at some derelict office? This one is by request so it's not entirely my fault. How would you improve radios/newspapers? What other NPC groups? Other maps? Other objectives? Or do you avoid newspapers/radios and just do other content in general?

Looking for opinions on secondary for Illusion Control Dominator
SeraphimKensai replied to Ravenwulfe's topic in Dominator
Oh I agree, it's just typically the best option performance wise. -
Looking for opinions on secondary for Illusion Control Dominator
SeraphimKensai replied to Ravenwulfe's topic in Dominator
I think sleet is damn near necessary on all Dominators, almost how I feel about the 120 sec recharge Soul Drain on most Corruptors. Is using a recovery base buff or recovery serum enough to cover your end when not being refilled from popping Domination? Will that cover you until Incarnates? Are you using Agility, Nerve, or Musculature for Alpha? Ageless Core/Radial, or say Barrier for Destiny? Assault or Support for Hybrid? -
Looking for opinions on secondary for Illusion Control Dominator
SeraphimKensai replied to Ravenwulfe's topic in Dominator
I'm enjoying the Illusion/Savage/Ice I said I would make. It's lvl 50 now with maybe a .8 bil influence build but rocking perma hasten/pa. With the recharge stacks I kid you not i managed to stack Domination a couple times in a Position TF, very tight window to get it off, but that was a pretty epic moment. I need to get incarnates/accolades done still, I haven't really started with them just yet, was taking it pretty slow leveling the character up as I've been having some baby agro, and also getting some weird fps drops on the GPU so I'm doing some troubleshooting. Ill/savage though feels really good. I know dark assault is good as well (I have that paired with my symphony Domi). The recharge bonuses helped me do a little proc slotting as well. Im kinda curious how sonic assault is pairing with Illusion, but I'll wait awhile before I roll another. -
From a technical perspective the way the code works regarding VEATs and their specialized costume slot it would be difficult to replicate as if memory serves correct the player costume slot 1 for VEAT is set to go to a hidden player model that uses the extra costume pieces that the OG Devs had to implement to get it to work, as there were no female SoA and no male Widows, they had to make custom models of each and also the hide body type for both to be able to get a lot 1 to work. It's not impossible to combine the two, but unless someone else has a better idea might require a hybrid hidden model for the hybrid character which likely would be counter to the costume flexibility you're after.

What Happened to GM Led Weekly Discussions?
SeraphimKensai replied to Troo's topic in General Discussion
Sort of but not really. Simulation theory typically pertains to a computer simulation with consciousness injected into it a la The Matrix. I'm thinking more like Leandro is Legion and just really fucked in the head and we're all parts of it. Obviously I jest though. -
What Happened to GM Led Weekly Discussions?
SeraphimKensai replied to Troo's topic in General Discussion
This just made me question reality. What if all the HC devs and all the HC players are just manifestations of various psyches that Leandro has for himself, and we have become so caught up in our "existences" that have generated false memories going back decades to perpetuate our belief that we are individuals and not just various facets of Leandro who's psyche fractured because of CoH's sunset so much that his brain created the world we all live in and dance too. -
I will allow this but only if an NPC named @Yomo Kimyata who's over lounging on a couch at the Atlas Park AH like he owns it is the one that distributes the funds. Hell I wouldn't even be opposed to the Yomo NPC giving each character a 1 time gift of 10 million influence like the player does if you ask him. It just has to be a model of Yomo lounging around the AP Auction House.

Let us choose any Alignment power
SeraphimKensai replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I don't think this would add build diversity in my opinion, I think 99.5% of all characters would take the villain power for the recharge. -
I'm also not the biggest fan of the back and forth just for the sake of back and forth in Citadel, so... If I had my way I'd try and revamp Citadel do have it focus in IP first, like Citadel received a distress call to help...you go there to investigate and do all the IP stuff there and then you turn up a clue that lets you know that was all a decoy and the real threat is in Talos as Vandal has been extorting Talos elite...do Talos missions to uncover the location of Vandal's base, stop Vandal from dropping affluent Talos citizens into lava pool in a unique council map. Timed final mission, defeat Vandal to get the kill code, and have click a computer to release the citizens. Probably would thin out a few redundant missions.

I typically play on Everlasting, and if I can get a break long enough to play I'll usually boot up discord and have quite a few people popping in to it while we play. Mind you I'll usually be drinking while playing and occasionally offer up CoH trivia as we play where I'll toss out prizes and such. I'm not Yomo rich, but I'm well off enough that I've tossed numerous pugs some IOs or or 10 mil or so to help them slot themselves out, I've even offered to invite a pug member that was a level or so too low for the tf to my AFK farm that I run while playing to get enough XP to actually run the tf. That all said I also like speed TFs and hard mode TFs, and if I'm doing either I have higher expectations on my team to be prepared to either do a speed or have competency for their character and the content to be useful for a hard mode run. So there's a time and place for everything.

No I don't automatically assume they don't have any enhancements at all, but I've been on enough pug TFs where I've had people on my discord channel that have explained that they had red SO's or usually don't slot many powers until they can do generic lvl 30 IOs so it does seem like a common occurrence. A character's slotting can affect their performance on a. Task/Strike force, but in my experience the driver of the character is more important than the character's slotting. As a skilled player will understand the content and how their powers are best suited to individual encounters, so they might out perform someone else who may be on a superior slotted toon that is "borrowing" the character from a friend or was power leveled or blindly followed someone else's mids build without really understanding the nuisance of competency. It seems though that the lower level task/strike forces are more likely to find un or under slotted characters and that's something I try to prepare for. Not to say that anyone else should play the way I do, I wouldn't wish that on even Green Bay Packers fans as I sometimes spend entirely too much time trying to analyze the game as opposed to play it.

Knowing you....go Warshade, it's darker, and has a bonus to brooding in the shadows. Also you can make use of the multiple slow damage procs to help your abilities. You get access to powers that say Dark Nova.... In front of them and and I think it's ebon eye that carries over into Nova as well. That said I'd use a few powers in human like dark extraction to have pets to follow you around in squid form, sunless more for basically soul drain, and styigan circle to refill your HP/end from dead bodies. Otherwise your a floating artillery platform that lays eggs in other heroes and villains....

You might be joking but I wouldn't mind hard mode lvl 50 versions of all the task forces, but that's a monumental task to scale NPC groups up to lvl 50+ and give them enough power to be challenging for a team. Could it be done? Absolutely. Just would be a lot of work, but I think it would be cool.

As a D&D player and occasional DM for a one off, I really like this idea. Anything to making the story more immersive into the missions is a good thing. Sure we don't want a 15 minute cutscenes where I have enough time to change the baby's diaper, let the dog outside, and grab myself a fresh beer, but adding in some strategic NPC chatter and it can really help further the narrative.
