STJ used to be the king of Single Target damage pylon tests, with the rework that Energy Melee got, EM is pushing ahead. So I would guess that's why those two sets in particular were recommended. That said Stalkers are one of my favorite AT's and get can be made to do some crazy feats (my most recent is a fire/rad stalker where I purposely took two so so stalker sets to make a beast that uses an alternating layers approach to survivability with rune of protection, particule shielding, meltdown, and shadow meld while using ground zero/rad therapy to supplement AoE).

Dumbest IO purchase you've made...?
SeraphimKensai replied to ThaOGDreamWeaver's topic in The Market
Personally I'd change the Fast Snipe proc to something like a Double Tap proc, chance to hit twice. Since people don't need to stack tohit to unlock the fast Snipe, and this allows to keep make the snipe interesting by making the proc fairly unique so that it still does good damage as opposed to being one that is largely useless. -
I have a time/dark, a poison/rad, an elec/water, and a dark/elec that are all extremely resilient. Defenders can be built easily because of their buff/Debuff values they get a lot of mileage out of things like leadership, so I find them all very easy to softcap at the minimum S/L/E. Otherwise pairing that with debuffs make for a very resilient defender.

Question about slotting recharge into a proc power
SeraphimKensai replied to wubbahducky's topic in Blaster
Use this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12l8SBv_Wy9Xd33UlVCVD7DN0v5XChmdnEQv33eI-tiE/edit?usp=drivesdk Then you can determine how much recharge you can safely slot without compromising your proc rates. -
I'm also old, and the reason I got to be old was my old friend common sense. That said aside of one of @Linea's AE missions or the Dr. Aeon TF, if someone dies that's on them. They either shouldn't of been standing there, or should of prioritized a different target, or should of stayed closer to where incoming buffs or heals are if they need them. Tankers work great, and I've never found a combo I didn't care for aside of stone/kin Melee, so they have a lot of flexibility for play styles. good luck out there.

I usually have 2 alts afk farming while I play a third one and run content (while unless the server pop gets too large). So far if I'm actively farming with three, I usually use 3 MM's as they can literally agro the whole meteor at once. Domi wise I have a lot of memories farming with a fire/psi before plant control existed, as pre AE, fire/psi dominators was as good as it got on CoV. I can see how plant/psi would realistically out perform fire/psi now.

Crazy idea, what about rolling in with 3 plants controllers, build for S/L Defense and have the secondaries be: Elec Affinity, Sonic, and Trick Arrow. The buffs from the EA/Sonic bring everyone up to S/L resistance cap, already softcapped Def, and unleash three sets of creepers, and toss out Oil Slicks, EMP arrow, Disruption Arrow etc and watch the meteor burn. I've done something similar with three masterminds, curious what kinda chaps three sets of carrion creepers would bring.

Personally I'd take Stj/SD as either a tank, scrapper, or stalker before bringing it brute.

first time soloing a TF: level 11 blaster, Posi 1
SeraphimKensai replied to cohRock's topic in General Discussion
Honestly soloing these is usually one of my benchmarks for testing a new toon, especially Dr. Vahz, 2 AVs at once in Mantis, and Jurassik. On the weekends I wake up at about 6am, and there's not much going on as my wife doesn't wake up until 11, and the player population is low. -
Personally for me ultimate support means either buffing something that a player can't feasibly reach on their own or debuffing mobs to make a content easier for the team. If we're limited to defenders as they get the largest buff/Debuff modifiers I would really look at Dark Miasma or Kinetics as a primary, although Poison and Thermal work well too. Secondaries I'd consider Sonic, Rad, and even niche case uses for Elec to sap targets so they can't reasonably attack a team. Kin/Sonic, Dark/Elec, Poison/Rad are all pretty fun I have one of each at 50 and fully IO'd. The Dark/Elec has tanked the Dr. Aeon TF, and the Poison/Rad tanks Rommy +4. The Kin/Sonic is a damage force multiplier. Edit: Also I never dedicate a rez power choice to a build unless that Rez has another purpose, ie. Howling Twilight, as you can buy a temporary resurrect other power from the P2W vendor. Use teleport binds and you'll find it much easier to control teleportation of yourself, and makes hover unnecessary if you need to travel via TP. Superspeed+a Stealth IO is Invis (otherwise Shadow Fall +stealth IO. Stealth IO's always get slotted in a sprint power so you can dedicate better slotting in your actual travel powers for KB prot and slow res. I find that if I have to taxi players around, it's not my fault that I don't have teleport other, it's their fault for not being self sufficient. A stealth IO is really cheap, and even cheaper is base invisibility. As a player I die approximately 10 times a year, usually when I'm drunk, or if I'm sacrificing myself to help the team if someone has vengeance in which case I run in Lee Roy with no toggles on. Defenders though are very easy to softcap to particular defense types S/L/E in particular, so I usually play mine upfront in the melee area.

You can self control griefers by kicking them.

Which Redside Villain's Arc for Patron Pools?
SeraphimKensai replied to Clave Dark 5's topic in General Discussion
If you do the first arc of any of the patrons you unlock access to all the patrons' power pools when it comes time to pick powers/respec. Thus people tend to favor the Black Scorpion arc because it's really easy. You can run all the arcs though via teaming and get all the badges though. -
Personally I'm a big advocate of retiring Ms. Liberty in Atlas, as she has her own TF in IP and is in 2 places at once. I know people will be adamant against this, but I was always a fan of Galaxy City over Atlas Park anyways.

I levied my counter suggestion to be the opposite of what @The_Warpact proposed as a means to point out the potential vehement reaction that some would have towards either limiting PvP or enforcing a sort of PvP mandate. Well the OP's suggestion has merit, thus why I suggested they use Kallisti Wharf for it, the pit reaction that you had to my counter proposal is how a pvper can feel about the initial post in this thread. Because of that I had to solicit my counter proposal. I for one am what I largely consider a retired pvper, mostly due to limits of my time to play, and lack of steady PvP options in the game so to make PvP zones PvE and make the PvP zone only accessible via an echo at an arena made me cringe as I literally played the game from I4 on due to the friendships I developed pvping in this game. Zone PvP is by it's very nature is a Challenge Zone because your target can think for themselves and counter strategize to attack you as well.
-
Oh I know. Realistically most my suggestions like most people's have been dead on arrival, but some have provoked some interesting conversation.
-
You can do it in Kallisti Wharf, but leave the PvP zones alone unless you're coming to PvP. Personally I'd be more in favor of having rotating PvP Incursions in normally non PvP zones, where for say 60 minutes everyone is scaled to a fixed level and heroes have to fight back the invading villains, or vice versa. Perhaps set up a regular occuring event , 60 minutes in say a zone like Boom Town, or Cascade Archipelago, or Port Oakes, Nerva, etc and introduce new PvP Incursion Badges for each of the zones.
-
Literally every one of my alts powers disables any kind of emergency teleportation safety nets, even in PvP. So if I kill you your character just like a standard npc mobs' is dead and deleted from existence. That said there maybe cloning facilities somewhere, but I have no qualms about killing your clones dead one by one.

Recluse's Victory has AV's and Heroes for you to kill.

New keyword request for target_custom_near and etc.
SeraphimKensai replied to Andreah's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'd be all about adding these ones: enemy_underling enemy_minion enemy_liutenant enemy_boss enemy_elite enemy_av (target av or hero class) enemy_monster enemy_gm That way we can make targeting macros based on enemy rank. -
Assumed I was being summoned. That aside, in regards to the thread, if someone is complaining they can step up and make their own server to see how it actually is. I have my own where I've tweaked some powers here and there to test some of the suggestions I've laid out here, but I'm not going to pretend like I actually know what the hell I'm doing, and it's Homecomings house here. As my dad once said (when I was 15) about his house if I didn't want to abide by his rules I could leave at any time and go get a job and get my own place.

Help requested for a "fighting controller"...
SeraphimKensai replied to biostem's topic in Controller
Yes, I have: Ice Arrow 5 slotted with damage procs. Poison Gas Arrow 2 slotted to make it a defensive tool for placate and self heal. Acid Arrow 6 slotted with 2 -res procs and 4 damage procs. Carrion Creepers 5 slotted with 4 damage procs and a chance of knock down. Poisonous Ray 6 slotted with 4 damage procs a -res, and the last slot for a quick 2 pc set bonus. Entangling Arrow has 1 damage proc. Disruption Arrow has a chance to stun. EMP Arrow has a chance to heal. Otherwise standard IO set slotting in other powers makes for quite an effective combination. -
sorry for getting it nerfed in the first place.

I've also hosted/participated in a lot of themed task forces on Everlasting, largely in part to my cadre of alts. I find themed task forces work pretty well with the one consideration if using a particular AT, that it's usually a good idea to have someone with Provoke so the team doesn't have to chase the AVs all over kingdom come. Regarding a potential race between defenders/corruptors, I feel the corruptors will win because with a full team of 8 corruptors the team will still be fairly well buffed and mobs debuffed while having corruptor damage and scourge. The defenders would have to get lucky with a lot of proc bomb slotting to have a chance.

I attended yesterday incognito. Fun was had on the ITF.

Is defeat just an inconvenience?
SeraphimKensai replied to Glacier Peak's topic in General Discussion
I remember the days of having that one guy that was better off dead than alive on the team so we could alternate vengeance buffs and rock fallout.
