  2. Midnight Visage working with a Kheld form is probably a bug. There’s definitely the potential for issues if you use more than one shapeshift power at once.
  3. I think you mean Shadow Fall instead of Darkest Night? But yes, I hate it when teammates have AoE stealth running, especially Shadow Fall.

  8. It doesn’t work like that. The results of a power are determined at the moment of activation, and in your first example the fast snipe hits because you activated it before the enemy activated Hibernate. Your second example doesn’t hit the enemy because you yourself delayed activating the power, which gave the enemy the chance to bring up Hibernate first. If you were to repeat the test with an actual modern fast snipe, activating it ASAP as in the first test instead of you delaying the activation of the power to “simulate” it, the attack would still land.

That sounds like it would run into the issue the auction house has, where it can’t be used outside of public zones because of some database download thing I don’t fully understand; basically, a map instance has to download a whole thing the first time any player opens the auction house in it. Once it’s downloaded, though, it’s good to go for any player that wants it in the future. This is fine for any map instance that’s essentially permanent like city zones, but allowing it in zones that get closed after use like mission maps or bases would tank the servers, so the /ah command is disallowed there. My point is, convert previews might run into the same issue, so converting might become only possible in public zones.

  11. I actually would like to change this in one specific instance. The slow rollout of the unfinished Origin pools has made it clear that there’s a serious challenge in making the ranged attacks these pools offer worthwhile, while keeping them from overshadowing the ranged attacks available in APPs over 30 levels later. One solution I think has potential is to change only single-target ranged attacks in APPs to use 1.5x normal recharge, while ranged attacks in origin power pools use 2x recharge. This would help origin ranged powers be worthwhile without being just better than APP ranged attacks.
  12. While maybe it shouldn’t be a capital-R rule, per se, AT mirrors should naturally arise in the APPs because of their design. The whole purpose of APPs is to give characters access to the kinds of powers their primaries and secondaries typically don’t. Therefore, ATs like Defenders and Corruptors should end up getting the same APPs since they get the exact same sets. Something like Blasters and Masterminds sharing pools is really just an unfortunate reality of time limitations back when side-switching was implemented. Also, Conserve Power is much better than Superior Conditioning. Conserve Power should give any character virtually unlimited endurance while it’s up, while Superior Conditioning is only good for muling another Performance Shifter proc.
  13. I’ve never played Sonic Blast, is it really in such a bad place that an across-the-board damage increase of ~20% is actually justified?
  14. Except you spend 1/4-1/2 of all your time in battle just casting Gale, so not all that overpowered.
  15. My single biggest pet peeve in the character creator is the way the Detailed Info window for powers will completely cover up the list of power sets. If you want to compare powers between sets, you have to close the Detailed Info Window, choose another set, and then open the info window again. Meanwhile, thanks to the widescreen monitors that are ubiquitous today, there's a ton of screen real estate to the left and right sides that goes completely unused. The info window can't be dragged around the screen, either. Would it be possible to change it so that when the info window is opened, the list of powers shifts as far to the left as the current game resolution allows, while the info window is placed as far to the right as possible? It would look something like this ultra-cheap mockup I made:

  16. Web Grenade in Traps is one of the few instances where I would seriously consider violating the cottage rule.
  17. It’s something I’d really like to see. I really don’t think it would result in any major shift in the game balance if it happened. Worst thing would probably be Stalkers gimping themselves by skipping Hide, but you could solve that by putting a flashing arrow or exclamation point next to Hide on the power selection screens until the player actually chooses it.
  18. A central conceit of all the EATs is that the game defines a portion of your character’s backstory to enable the game to tell you a story that runs from levels 1-50 about your character. That’s what the word “epic” in Epic Archetype specifically refers to. I can tentatively get behind letting Widows color their psychic powers, but letting VEATs use non-Arachnos weapons or VEATs not having a uniform costume slot, that kind of stuff undermines the story of the archetypes.

  21. Look, people wanted Dual Pistols added to the game because they thought Equilibrium was so cool. So naturally the set looks like something from Equilibrium. They gave us what we wanted!

  23. I find the CoT torches way more annoying than anything in the blue caves. That, though, I feel like could be solved by just deleting all the collision geometry in that prop's model.
  24. I really don’t think letting Mercs change a portion of their damage type is going to result in any meaningful increase in performance.
