That's another thing. I'm not sure of what tertiary pools to take. My usual power pools are: Combat Teleport for melee toons (not a must) Fighting, but I'm worried that my end can't handle tough and weave toggles Force of Will for travel and a nifty knockdown (+1 tax power) and Unrelenting Leaping just for CJ... but I can skip Force of Will altogether and just go with super jump as WP has enough heals/regen. And I'm planning to take Soul Patron Power pool. On the initial build, I took all primary powers; secondary to T7.

I'm a closet roleplayer, so concept and theme matter a lot to me. I finally decided to roll a staff/willpower with a meh concept at best. I like the look and I like the animation (yes even the breakdancing T4) enough to not mind the wooden sound effects. I just hit 35 arduously, taking months on and off. This is the level that I gradually upgrade from SOs to IO sets since I have enough slots for some nice set bonuses. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't figure out slotting. either my def/res is too low or my attacks are lacking or I'm guzzling too much end OR both of them three! If any of you could post a decent levelling build to help guide me, it would be much appreciated. P.S. This is the first time I've taken Staff, and the only other time I've taken WP is on a Sent.

Not complaining, but 14 conversions...in a 3 to a set?
Six-Six replied to Ukase's topic in The Market
Oof. The RNG gods don't like YOU! haha. I've noticed that when I pray to the said gods, with sincere intention in my heart and mind (sometimes with an offering of a shot of tequila or rum), that I still don't get what I want. π -
Sewer King is right at the entrance if you go in KR. π Navigating KR's wide empty streets from Pocket D to the tunnel entrance wasn't that hard... at least compared to weaving in and out of Grandville's 3D maze. had to literally stop every few steps to check around me. haha.

+1 for a pair of Deadpool Katanas or Kratos blades. or a shield. Actually, I'd be happy even with just a scabbard on the side. Hey, they gave us dual wielding police-issue holsters, so there's hope. Shoulder holster chest detail would also be good.

@Clave Dark 5 update: Tried getting the Sewer Dweller in Grandville at level 1. Must've died a dozen times haha. It was a fun challenge, but I kinda gave up. Thanks for the tip. I got Sewer King instead. π I've decided to play him as an ΓΌber-gimped toon. No training. So I only have T1 primary and secondary, sprint, health, stamina and brawl with 1 slot each (I don't even have access to Rest). Because, you know... he's a failed experiment, not a super hero/villain. Once I get to 50, maybe I'll give him other powers on a secondary build. π

Access to Powers At All Levels After Acquisition
Six-Six replied to Maginary's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm afraid I don't see your logic of how my not patronising P2W equates to no argument. What I'm saying if you make the game too easy, it will become boring and people will go find something more interesting. It's already easy enough as it is. You're missing the point of earning your way through a game, not just "paying to win" like other MMOs that give you OP-ness for an equivalent amount of cash. For what? so you can laude over other players that you're stronger??? When everyone else is super, no one is. And then you lose the incentive to retain players. Have you ever played a game on God-mode? I don't know about you, but it's fun for about 3 seconds. then it ruins the point of the game. Let me ask you, if I may. How long does it take you to get all of your powers? A couple of weeks of slow grind? A week with XP boost? A couple of hours in a farm? It takes me half an hour to an hour to get to 20 without XP boost and just by doing contacts. I even turn XP off so I enjoy the lower levels more and/or do a lot of low-level Pillar missions. I still believe that the point of the journey is not merely to arrive. You made a comment earlier: "To each their own, I would find it fun so I suggested it." which didn't sit right with me. It doesn't seem sincere. Everyone enjoys the game differently, but the game must be revised so I can enjoy it more. Like I said, there's already a way for you to get what you want with very little effort. -
Access to Powers At All Levels After Acquisition

I don't do P2W. I've done fine without her, and anything she peddles can be earned through content... except vanity pets. sometimes I get vanity pets. -
Access to Powers At All Levels After Acquisition
Six-Six replied to Maginary's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If you want to utterly destroy someone, give them what they want... or something to that effect. I think that having access to powers early on without earning them will lead to a downfall of the game. You say you want it to be more community driven, but after the initial novelty, you fail to see how doing so will drive away the community. There will simply be no more challenge, and people will move on to the next game. I'm with @MTeague. I enjoy the landing in Mercy with just 1 power and slowly navigating most of the lowbie to mid level content. I barely play any endgame; I shelf most toons as soon as they ding 50. I like the challenge of facing foes when I haven't earned x power yet, or I don't have enough slots to make that power effective, or my recovery can't handle that toggle yet. I have toons that only train until level 10, then go the rest of the way until 50. I have toons that don't train at all and try to make it with just T1/T2 primary, T1 secondary, brawl, sprint... no Rest. The P2W lady and I have long been on non-speaking terms, and I don't miss her. Besides, there's already a way to get what you suggested: power levelling. You can reach 50 in no time with double XP and a good farm map (plus a generous farmer). Or is door sitting too much of an effort? -
Wow, thanks Clave. Like I said, he just kinda "evolved". I was working on another concept, but things just started going a totally different direction. I particularly like how the Receivers and Corsair mouthpiece flow into each other. The shoulders is called Post Appocalyptic, then a dropdown for the spiked version. Haven't really fleshed out the write up. His name is a nod to Rats of NIMH [National Institute of Mental Health] which left a mark on me as a kid (an entire epoch ago haha--specially that one scene when they're just about to enter the bush hideout with the huge rat guard with electric arrowhead spear). So yeah, he's a lab rat gone awry and I suppose out for revenge or redemption. The entire savage + beast stance thing just really works for him; but I'm leaning towards Bio's powers for the concept. Anyhoo, definitely planning to brave Grandville right off the bat to get Sewer Dweller badge.

Ooh. I particularly like how the chest pattern, chest detail and aura align. Nice work (translation: I may or may not steal it sometime soon). Meanwhile, this one evolved unexpectedly... NIMH Rod. Savage/Bio Scrapper.

Yeah, I feel the same way about /Time. And you're right. low level powers tend to feel sluggish. I haven't tried Ice, Fire and Emp yet, but everything else I have. Among those, my favourites are /Elec, /Dark, and /Rad in that order. I don't care much for FF but maybe because I took with bots and it felt redundant. /Traps is a bit underwhelming in general, especially since it doesn't come with a heal... though i like it on other ATs. I don't like /Nature and /Kin because they feel like cheating and I like a bit of challenge. Storm is alright, a bit on the fence with it, but maybe because I paired with Ninjas. My /elec is still levelling, but it's fairly stronk. My GM killer is bots/dark/soul. I

Corr to play with my son's Titan Tank...??? Father Son Duo Time
Six-Six replied to ATM Machine's topic in Corruptor
If you're son is anything like mine when he was 10, then you don't need to worry about him and instead worry about keeping up. My then 6-year-old son "helped" me finish a boss fight on the gameboy while he was watching TV!) -
Should we tell them how we got thrown under the bus in the last mission of Ruben's arc? Dang villains. really can't trust them, can you. Well, the speech did say "y'all are villains, you should act like it." Next thing we know, the villain mob we brought with us were nowhere to be seen, it was just TL and MGD against a roomful of longbow. Bastards. (and of course, thinking we had a redside posse behind us, TL jumps in the middle of a couple of dozen reds and yellows, starts taking selfies, and bam! we're both checking out floor tiles). Good times. π

DP/SR was my second ever toon. and I particularly enjoyed it very much. I also took Ice mastery, but that was entirely for concept. I noticed that SR is quite sturdy on a sent, and possibly the best version of SR there is. I slotted my defences sparingly and it's still very very tough. That said, the only thing I'd suggest for your build is maybe a bit more frankenslotting to get proc-ed out as sents need all the damage they can get. The nice thing about SR is that it improves recharge, so while your individual attacks may seem weak, you'll be attacking more often so it picks up the slack. I tend to gravitate towards Ninja Mastery for sentinels. It would give you access to the "Dark Sabre" and nifty tools like caltrops as every mercenary should have. Plus Ninja mastery CAN BE SLOTTED with ATOs... which is cool if you need to prioritise damage for your primaries. And finally, just to give you another push towards your mando concept, @Solarverse came up with a sound mod that turns DP into pew-pew and ninja blade into light sabre "whoom".

I prefer blapping rather than hover blasting. So I tend to skip a few powers from Rad/ to be able to take more melee powers from the secondaries. Rad is really good for def debuff to soften most buggers. While I don't necessarily find the animation any different/better than most primaries, I still enjoy them. One of my favourite toons is Rad/En blapper (I have 2 of them). Currently levelling up a Rad/Martial and a Rad/Temporal. I'm not one to pay attention to stats so much, instead I judge it by how a power set feels. That said, it "feels" like they rank just below my elec/ blasters and blappers. I always take T1, T2 and the snipe. Irradiate and the nuke are extremely useful to me as a blapper. Haze, cosmic and Newtron bomb is a little too slow for my taste. But Eye beams is awesome.

for attack target, there's a dedicated button for that (target or reticule icon). It appears on your tray when you first enter the game. As for follow, it also appears right off the bat (arrow icon). I usually just use those two actually. I'd click follow which puts them on defensive, but as soon as enemies appear, I just order them to attack which puts them on aggressive. If they stray too far, I call them back with Follow and then just have them attack again. I don't like them following in aggressive mode because they end up attacking everything they pass. On weaker toons, I take one of the defensive buttons from the pet window (advanced) and set my T2 pets to defensive while the rest attack.

Sorry guys, just have to vent and didn't want to do it in front of the kids. While cooking dinner, I misjudged the level of the boiling oil and pretty much deep fried 3 of my fingers. Then after a really hard time trying to get the spoon into my mouth, I went ahead to prepare the doggo's dinner. At which time my dogs fought for some trivial reason. in my effort to separate the two snarling boys, my other hand (not the burnt one) got bit. ...and I'm all out of beer. Sorry. Carry on.,

Haha. very true. I had to make my two poison toons into lizards just to reconcile the spitting in my RP head.

Electric Melee and Shield Defense combo, but what AT?
Six-Six replied to SuperPlyx's topic in Archetypes
Here's my personal way of differentiating ATs: Play a Tank if you don't want to die, and learn to manage aggro if you don't want your teammates to die. Play a Brute if you want to be a tank, but would much rather focus on leaving dead bodies. The Fury mechanic benefits from bigger mobs. Play a Scrapper if you'd rather solo more than team. Play a Stalker if you don't mind not seeing the costume you spent an hour on... and if you don't got time for them mobs, just go and kill the boss at the end. =). Again, not the most quantitative categorisation, but it works for me. -
From what I gather, there are two kinds of people who say a certain power set needs fixing: One camp is the one so vehemently into the power that they want the most out of it (and have some fairly good suggestions regarding how to go about its improvement); the other is the one that barely understands the power and would rather the universe follows how they want it to be. The rest that don't fall to either camp don't bother making suggestions or critiques and just enjoy it (or not) for what it is, or don't play it at all.
