  1. If you enjoy it and have a theme you like then it's a great choice.
  2. Bio is an acquired taste. Its defense is being all in on offense. You get hit points, recovery, s/l resist, and e/n defense. But you get squat debuff resist so slows and defense debuffs will get you killed before a heal recharges. It can be great fun and amazing to watch or super frustrating.
  3. You'd really expect Fire Melee to do more damage since since its whole gimmick is supposed to be all the damage, with a side of damage and no mitigation or other secondary effects.
  4. How about for an inf sink the enter base costs like 250 inf per use so lowbies can sell salvage to get into their base and poor heroes have to run to an actual base beacon like hobos. This is the only MMO I play so I don't understand why travel has to be a slog. Low max speeds, eliminating pool and primary/secondary stacking, putting long recharge on convenient powers, etc. City of Public Transportation. I like the accolade even though it'll be a bit of a pain to unlock a bunch of times, but at least vidiot maps helps there.
  5. To be holistic, the build is quite similar regardless of the secondary, you just have to move the AoE sets to the corresponding power.
  6. I didn't see a reply to this. If you're still wondering, I don't believe this is possible with a macro but with a bind you could do two bind files. One toggles on fly and afterburner, and loads file two. Two toggles off afterburner and toggles on hover, and loads file one.
  7. Works the same on salvage too, which also suffers from the loss of focus problem.
  8. Ironically then, you agree with the suggestion. The problem is that even if it's an 8-person team set to +4 with "Spawn EBs as AVs" turned on, the boss still spawns as an Elite Boss with no way to make it spawn as an AV. So if everyone on the team is a +3 Incarnate the team gets a +1 EB, which is a total letdown when you're psyched up to fight the Sentinel of Mot at the end of an arc. The request is to let those spawn as AVs when the difficulty setting requests it. And the difficulty settings allow non-AV hunters to spawn EBs instead of AVs, and to drop the difficulty level for fragile archtypes.
  9. Nah, it shows who's taking the damage. My resist-based tanks can get that no problem. My defense-based scrappers never (hopefully) will. Blasters may get it eventually. Same with the debt badges, but in the opposite order.
  10. A while ago I made a Fire/Fire dominator because I had a weird pizza dream where I imagined a very saucy character Roasting everyone with snappy quips, and made Roasted Cheese. But a few days after waking up I realized it wasn't as funny as imagined and left him behind. Then the other day I was loafing around the character creator and made another one. I have a couple more dupes of Axe Scrappers, and some others too. I've started using the character chooser "Search by powerset" thing to look for previously forgotten characters.
  11. But they cost about $20mil each on the auction house, and that's not too hard to get.
  12. Cool, I'll check that out. Swapping between the two T3's on my Shield/Stone, I could see the damage buff stack up to 45% sometimes, but didn't see a big increase in arrest-speed. Switching to the double-strike though, I saw more big orange numbers and that placebo definitely felt like faster defeats. I'll try the tool and see what it says!
  13. Good thread. Came in debating a Savage/Regen but think I'll go with a different secondary instead. Invuln? Or SR. But I usually go SR.
  14. Alternate option: play a Tank. Every attack does a AoE taunt so the critters keep turning around and coming back, no matter (almost) how much they want to run away. And you'll probably still defeat quicker than the Sentinel.
  15. The two big things I see are that you didn't slot two of your attacks for damage. Siphon Life is one of your strongest attacks, it should be all damage, not healing. If you fill them both with Mako's Bite it'll get you near cap on S/L resist and a bit more defense. You don't need Dark Consumption, you'll get all your recovery from the Rad armor. Replace it with Soul Mastery / Gloom for another quick and strong attack. Move some slots from Gamma Boost to Gloom and put Apocalypse in there for the +rech boost. If you six-slot it you'll be near Psi resist cap. With that you'll have three more good damage powers and things will go quicker. I'd also suggest swapping the procs in Soul Drain for Dam/Rech. You want it perma and it's easy to hit 10 targets in a new spawn for over 60% constant damage buff.
  16. https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Hybrid_Slot_Abilities#Assault Do Tankers get more mileage out of the Incarnate Hybrid Assault path that gives a stacking damage buff, or the re-strike for bonus Energy damage? It seems like the old Fury vs Crits debate: Does the up to 65% damage buff outrun the double-hit in bonus energy damage? What have you seen on your Tanks? Edit: I had the T4 Melee on my Shield/Stone tank last night and the bonus status effect protection kept me from being mezzed when Rommie rezzed. That was a surprise indeed, but a welcome one.
  17. I think super travel powers should be an inherent choosable pool. There is no superhero that doesn't have a way of getting around. Yeah, that's what this idea is, person wants a fly with a theme matching their concept. There's two perspectives here: 1) People who want the game to match the way they want to play, and 2) People who want to force everyone to play the way they think the game should work. I'm in group 1, I think players should have all the options and play how it makes them happy. If you want the "as it was on Live" experience there are other servers specializing in that. You're wrong. Ninja and Beast run were original RMT purchases from the NCSoft store. They were also given to vet players who had maintained paid accounts for a certain length of time. (Almost) All the P2W stuff used to be Vet rewards to players that had paid for their subscription for years and years and now Homecoming gives it for free to brand new accounts at level 1. I was a paid subscriber for over 5 years, had everything unlocked, and now people who never played live can waltz in and get it from day one. Am I mad? No! Not in the least! Everyone should have options and tons of fun and be super heroic! You're right, it is so weird that your fun is based on what other people do, not on what you do.
  18. Good to know, I'll slide it over on my tray! Narrator: he then proceeded to join a Sister Psyche TF and couldn't use the most prominently placed powers in his tray.
  19. No way, Fists of Fury is a constant must. It says it's a 120 degree arc but I swear they measured it facing backwards because I hit critters way to the sides of me. My chain is usually MG, Maul, Siphon Life, Maul, Bio clickies, etc. I have Gloom but don't usually get to it except for runners.
  20. Shield / Stone is my ultra survivable hoot, with the stomps and charges and constant smashing. Bio/DM is fun for lots of clicking and having to pay attention or die but rewarded with oodles of damage with Soul Drain buffing the Bio AoE into mini nukes. It's what I wish Dark Armor was more like. Rad/Fire is coming up my enjoyment scale though. Plenty tough with good damage, don't need to worry about mitigation and exemplars well.
  21. Trick Arrow is the only one that gives a ST immob at level 1 for containment. With that you can immob then Blind and Spectral Wound to defeat an even level critter. But I totally understand OP's dilemma. My first 50 was a Grav/Kin and I couldn't get behind any other controller. People talk about Mind's massive damage but spooking Terrify every 15-25 seconds didn't feel like massive damage. Tried Fire/Rad, got sick of toggles and squishy pets. Earth/Time has massive control but squat for damage. Tons of fun on teams though where I don't need to defeat stuff myself. Ill/TA was pretty darn fun though. Trick Arrow adds debuffs to help the pets kill quicker, just enough damage, and lighting Oil Slick is a blast. Enjoyed it even more than Fire/TA. Just remember to select No Redraw in the costume creator.
  22. You need Blind to set up containment so that Spectral Wounds and Arcane Bolt will do double damage. I believe the Time ST hold sets containment too, then all three attacks will do double damage and defeats come quicker. If you're still below level 22 on all these, life will suck regardless. I know you're going cheap but you can get level 25 recipes for dam/rech pretty cheap and definitely cheaper than replacing SOs every few levels. That'll be critical to getting your attacks back faster so you can defeat things. Also, Mystic Flight doesn't need 3 end redux, 1 is fine. If you want to fight while flying just take Hover and toggle back and forth. Or heck, re-roll as a Time/Energy (or /fire/psi/dark) Defender or a Dominator with sorcerous looking powers.
  23. Attack bad guy once, do normal damage. Attack twice, do double damage. Controllers get containment for their inherent power, so anything that has a control applied you do double damage on the next attack. So I throw out the mass Immob then the single target attacks and those do double damage, defeating dummies decisively. As long as you keep a control on the enemies you keep doing double damage.
  24. Bonus fun is Propel does AoE knockdown. So you sneak up to a spawn, throw a rusty Chevy at them and half the spawn falls down while then the half looks on in horror and you cackle like a maniac.
  25. Based on OP's mini controller request, I'd put Singularity at top of the list. It sits there with Repel running and keeps throwing out the Immob, hold, and lift on everything it sees. And it's super durable, my character dies before it does.
