If this were like a single-player story-based game like Icewind Dale that I can keep forever and play whenever and I wasn't a grown-up with a job and family and other responsibilities, I'd go for the grind/unlock. But since it's a MMO with a billion combinations of powersets and an unknown lifespan I prefer quicker unlocks. We thought the Live game was going to last forever and it didn't. We hope these independent servers will last for years, but we don't know for sure. So my focus is trying new things and trying the old things with new toons and powersets in what little time I have. I don't want to grind and unlock everything over and over again, I want to play and team and TF and try out things I've never done before. I've already done most of the unlockable stuff on live at least once, and probably several times. There's so many storylines on red and blueside I haven't done
  3. Fire Melee (Scrapper/etc) is supposed to be the damage king with no other mitigation or secondary effects, but isn't near the top of the damage heap. Mind could be fixed quick giving the "big" powers had quicker cooldowns. Particularly Mass Confusion, quicker recharge to make it at least as good as Seeds of Confusion, but worthy of being a T9. @Heracleahad some great ideas for improving Regen. The one I remember best is giving it super debuff resistance, to reflect how regen heals over everything. Give it maxed out debuff resistance to speed, defense, regen, end, etc, and that would make it unique amongst armors. And then people can IO it up to make it really good. Easy to implement and easy to rebalance later if needed. A quick buff would be to let it jump but have the rooting powers behave like Grounded in Electric Armor. So the set can jump and move but loses the buff when you're not on the ground.
  4. To confirm (because I hate the names of the incarnate powers) Core is the build-up damage buff and Radial is the double-hit damage right? Are all these Bills Claws/SR?
  5. Can we have the regular maps made more vidiotish? With all the additional markers added to the official maps?
  6. Particularly true when your self-heal doesn't do double-duty as an attack, like the heals in Dark Armor, Rad, and especially Bio.
  7. I just made two new Scrappers yesterday, and DFB'd with a bunch of other new Scrapper toons! Another OG scrapper is Dark/Dark. If you're feeling super nostalgic you can try running only one armor at a time! edit: My new scrappers are Psi/Shield and Dual Blades/Invuln, no OG there. After I got the Psi/Shield to 12 and then went to re-arrange him on the Character Select screen I discovered I had another with the same concept and nearly identical name at level 4 🤫
  8. Something like this, two files, one named hover.txt and one called fly.txt. Put them in your \coh\data\ directory and they'll load without pathnames. Feel free to use a letter besides G, I just like to use that one to turn on my travel power.   9. I'll contribute my standard Insp binds. Since it seems the game doesn't use the right side of the keyboard much, I tied them to the inspirations they most closely resemble: i - insight/yellow/acc k - reds / damage (so pressing i, k, quickly to get acc and damage buff) h - greens/health j - blue/end (pressing h, j, quickly for more health and end) l - purple/luck m - orange/resist n - break frees Plus a set of bindfiles where pressing shift+letter combines the other insps to make that letter's insp. So "h" to consume a health, shift+h to make a health from any available insp (except from breakfrees or wakies).   10. Victory! I was one of the Qberts group, also had my own mini-SG but don't remember the name. My mains were Amasu (DM/SR scrapper) and Cute Kinetic (Grav/Kin Controller), and Ninja Surprise, Ill/TA controller. Plus so many alts. So good to see familiar faces again!
  11. It does have a good mix, with up to three AoE. But damage isn't all that great. Wonder if it's balanced around perma fiery embrace?
  12. If you enjoy it and have a theme you like then it's a great choice.
  13. Bio is an acquired taste. Its defense is being all in on offense. You get hit points, recovery, s/l resist, and e/n defense. But you get squat debuff resist so slows and defense debuffs will get you killed before a heal recharges. It can be great fun and amazing to watch or super frustrating.
  14. You'd really expect Fire Melee to do more damage since since its whole gimmick is supposed to be all the damage, with a side of damage and no mitigation or other secondary effects.
  15. How about for an inf sink the enter base costs like 250 inf per use so lowbies can sell salvage to get into their base and poor heroes have to run to an actual base beacon like hobos. This is the only MMO I play so I don't understand why travel has to be a slog. Low max speeds, eliminating pool and primary/secondary stacking, putting long recharge on convenient powers, etc. City of Public Transportation. I like the accolade even though it'll be a bit of a pain to unlock a bunch of times, but at least vidiot maps helps there.
  16. To be holistic, the build is quite similar regardless of the secondary, you just have to move the AoE sets to the corresponding power.
  17. I didn't see a reply to this. If you're still wondering, I don't believe this is possible with a macro but with a bind you could do two bind files. One toggles on fly and afterburner, and loads file two. Two toggles off afterburner and toggles on hover, and loads file one.
  18. Works the same on salvage too, which also suffers from the loss of focus problem.
  19. Ironically then, you agree with the suggestion. The problem is that even if it's an 8-person team set to +4 with "Spawn EBs as AVs" turned on, the boss still spawns as an Elite Boss with no way to make it spawn as an AV. So if everyone on the team is a +3 Incarnate the team gets a +1 EB, which is a total letdown when you're psyched up to fight the Sentinel of Mot at the end of an arc. The request is to let those spawn as AVs when the difficulty setting requests it. And the difficulty settings allow non-AV hunters to spawn EBs instead of AVs, and to drop the difficulty level for fragile archtypes.
  20. Nah, it shows who's taking the damage. My resist-based tanks can get that no problem. My defense-based scrappers never (hopefully) will. Blasters may get it eventually. Same with the debt badges, but in the opposite order.
  21. A while ago I made a Fire/Fire dominator because I had a weird pizza dream where I imagined a very saucy character Roasting everyone with snappy quips, and made Roasted Cheese. But a few days after waking up I realized it wasn't as funny as imagined and left him behind. Then the other day I was loafing around the character creator and made another one. I have a couple more dupes of Axe Scrappers, and some others too. I've started using the character chooser "Search by powerset" thing to look for previously forgotten characters.

  23. Cool, I'll check that out. Swapping between the two T3's on my Shield/Stone, I could see the damage buff stack up to 45% sometimes, but didn't see a big increase in arrest-speed. Switching to the double-strike though, I saw more big orange numbers and that placebo definitely felt like faster defeats. I'll try the tool and see what it says!
  24. Good thread. Came in debating a Savage/Regen but think I'll go with a different secondary instead. Invuln? Or SR. But I usually go SR.
  25. Alternate option: play a Tank. Every attack does a AoE taunt so the critters keep turning around and coming back, no matter (almost) how much they want to run away. And you'll probably still defeat quicker than the Sentinel.
