This is nothing special, but I attempted to record myself once using my Time/DP/Soul Proc Monster build. My technique is not optimized, it was mostly done to show how survivable I could be on the +4/x8 S/L Farm (Briggs) and also highlight how often my procs fire while somewhat managing my endurance. I managed to clear it in 8 minutes. Decent, but nothing to brag about either. Anyways, feel free to watch: Edit: To be clear, this is not a farming build, just my "Offender" build that just so happened to be ok at farming. If I only wanted to farm, there are optimizations I could squeeze out...but I don't think it would be much more gain.

I'm sorry for my slow response, today I had an out of town doctor appointment for my child and I didn't have time to get to it right away...plus it looks like it was already discussed so I am likely repeating some words. Anyways, if I say I will do something, I try to come through, so here's some math for your Build Up ST attack rotation. First, I am going to make some assumptions that I believe to be true. If you happen to get the rare opportunity to proc in back to back Pistol attacks, the Build Up will not stack, but likely would refresh. So what I can assume is that for any given attack chain (4 attacks, P>ES>P>DW), it will either have an 80% buff or it will not. Now, the approach I take with the math ignores the impact of getting multiple procs in a row. This is because it is such a rare occurrence that even if I did incorporate the full numbers, the gain would be negligible. With that said, here's the numbers. Attack Chain duration: 6.072s (1.188s+1.848s+1.188s+1.848s) Probability of at least 1 proc in 1 attack chain: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^2 = 12.5775% Base Damage of attack chain: 196.64 (36.15+76.63+36.15+47.71) Added Chain Damage if the Build Up Proc fires: 157.312 (80% x 196.64) Expected Added Chain Damage: 19.7859168 (12.5775% x 157.312) Added DPS = 3.25855 (19.7859168 / 6.072s) So it's not much. But if you're chasing the set bonuses from Decimation, it's perfectly fine to do. On a separate note, I opened your build and noticed you put Hami-Os in your Distortion Field. Why? My understanding is Speed Enhancements are not the equivalent of Slow Enhancements. I think you just slotted expensive endurance enhancements. I could be wrong though, so feel free to correct me. Personally, I would get rid of those and the Lockdown proc and just go for the 4 slot set bonus from Basilik's Gaze. From my testing, the Lockdown Proc will fire less than once per target per activation, and for it to do anything interesting (hold a boss) you would need that proc to happen in the same window of time of the 2% chance to hold from Distortion Field. Basically, too many things need to go right, so why not chase the recharge and ranged defense?
-
If you can afford the slots, Distortion Field filled with procs is worth trying out. Over the lifetime of its duration, I believe you get 5 tick opportunities so on average each proc will likely fire 1-2 times. So in terms of damage per activation, it can be quite good. However my gameplay does not usually experience enemies standing in the same spot for 45 seconds (if they live that long). I'll test it some more and update my opinions, if you like. Since you can double stack, perhaps in the right situation it could be powerful. Edit: I'll do a test on Justin, then report my findings.

I think that is the best way to go about it. Experience all the powers then figure out what you want for your build. You also can have up to 3 builds, so perhaps you specialize one for teams and another for solo.

Clarion Radial "secondary Effects boost"
Bopper replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in General Discussion
I haven't played traps to know for sure. Definitely worth looking at on the test server. You're hoping it works like Farsight, where you pop Power Boost then summon a boosted FF generator. I would love that. But I suspect you don't get the boost. When I tried it with my Summon Widow I used power analyzer to monitor their mez effects. I saw no difference in the mez duration. That's the reason for my skepticism. -
Do you happen to know the duration of the build up when it procs? I think it is between 5-6 seconds, and for Defenders the proc would be +80 damage, +40 tohit. If you can confirm for me those numbers, I can tell you exactly how much added damage (and dps) you'd be adding by leveraging the build up proc.
-
Personally, Musculature Radial for alpha, as I can use the extra damage, endurance mod, and debuff boosts. Destiny I typically go Clarion, either perma mez protection (Core) or partial mez protection but stacked power boosting (Radial).
-
Personally, I don't think much of 50% regen debuff. On typical mobs, regeneration debuffing isn't needed (doesn't greatly speed up kill time). On tough targets (AVs) they tend to heavily resist regeneration debuffs. So unless it is an unresistable debuff or if it is so much -regen that you can't say no (-500%?), then I just ignore it all together. In your case, Time Stop and maaaaaybe Distortion Field, you could skip. But they do make for great mules. If you were a corruptor soloing, you could skip Temporal Selection. I would think an MM would use Temporal Selection on their pets, so I wouldn't skip that... but you could.
-
It depends on build needs. The one thing we can all agree on is you want as much recharge as possible to try to reach perma Chrono Shift and keep up the 50% recharge bonus. So you're likely spending 2 extra slots already...maybe 1 if you +5 boost both your level 50 recharge IOs. And if you want to do that, you absolutely can. For me personally, I run heavy on endurance, so I'm usually slotting for both endurance modification and recharge, so 3-4 slots are common for me. Ultimately, there's no single right way to slot it.
-
Odd, if that is the case, my apologies. I guess I'll have to really rely on tags if I keep that format.
-
Global recharge, such as from set bonuses, hasten, LotG, etc, do not impact proc performance. Only enhanced recharge does. Alphas with a recharge boost are effectively a global enhancement (follows rules of enhancement diversification), so yes, Alphas will impact proc performance.

You should head over to the "Storm Summoning/" thread. Lots of good discussion on defenders using Storm Summoning (lots of AoE) with procs for good damage. Someone mentioned being able to farm the Briggs AE moon mission in about 5-6 minutes, which is decent. The main downside is not having taunt, the dps is there. Personally, I build a Time/DP/Soul defender that farmed it in under 8 minutes, probably could improve on it if I focused, but it was mostly a test to see my DPS and survivability. I have no interest in optimizing for farming.

The "A" stands for Auto, as in when you selected the power, it automatically comes with one slot.

I have not vetted this information, but the only thing I've seen was put together by MacSkull. If you want, I can include this link in the front page section for easy discovery. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vd4ZZd1jfhOzdZZkGxC9O0NN5G0T1EdWPu_XRrV6s0U/edit#gid=905771942

@eknudson I have written a quick guide (you can find it in the Guides section under "Time Manipulation Guide"). It's rough. It's dirty. It's my kind of girl. All kidding aside, I hope it helps. If it doesn't, let me know what you're looking for and I'll edit as needed.

Time Manipulation Guide by Bopper Written: 30 July 2019 Last updated: 2 August 2019 (Information that might help new Time Manipulation players for any archetype) A Quick Note from the Author Introduction Links to City of Data Information So that covers the majority of the details you would want for Time Manipulation. Now, I will spend some time talking about each power including some anecdotes of what I like to do with them and also provide some opinions. Basically, if you don’t care about what I think, now is the time to check out. Sadly, the guide forum doesn't have too many overviews of specific sets, which is a shame because some sets can cover multiple ATs, in this case Defender, Corruptor, Controller, and Mastermind. I play time on my Main, which is a defender, and I can provide you with plenty of info. I probably will leave guide writing to someone else who has the time, but I can try to type something up and get back to you later if you're interested.

It would take far too long to attempt that. I would recommend doing a search across the forums for Proc or PPM. There have been a lot of discussion on the topic, which is scattered across the general discussion section, defender section, controller section, etc. Here is a link to my thread on the topic. Clarion Radial "secondary Effects boost"
Bopper replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in General Discussion
Also, for what it's worth, 30 second mez exposure is easily remedied with a basic break free insp. If you know mez will be an issue going in, fill your tray (or partially fill) with breakfrees, knowing that you'll pop one every 2 minutes. -
Clarion Radial "secondary Effects boost"
Bopper replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in General Discussion
You are forgetting that the bonuses stack. I'm working off memory so the details could be off, but you get a 60% boost for 22.5 seconds, 10% boost for 45 seconds, and a 10% boost for 90 seconds. That equates to 80% for 22.5 seconds, 20% for 22.5-45 seconds, 10% for 45-90 seconds. It pairs amazingly with time, as you can also boost the recovery on ChronoShift (30 second duration), and the defense debuff on slowed response (30 second duration). The mez duration boost is also nice if you already have it, but no need to chase it. For Rad, it does turn EM Pulse into game over for a mob (44s hold duration, -109% end drain, without slotting). Also, it makes AM that much more potent (bigger mez resistance, much bigger recovery, 2 minute duration). Although you probably won't use Clarion this way, but Clarion+Vengeance+Fallout+Mutation would be a devastating turn of events in a situation where you had a teammate die (if you have a lowbie looking for power levels while playing dead, you can make good use of this combo sans Mutation. Just need recall ally) -
Clarion Radial "secondary Effects boost"
Bopper replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in General Discussion
I believe the secondary effects boost is the same boost Power Build Up and Power Boost provide. I haven't done a line by line check of what's impacted, but that is my impression of the power. It's quite nice, but having the 30 second gap in mez protection hurts if you can't fill it. Edit: I should add, it does not boost your damage nor resistance buffs/debuffs. But anything that provides heal, defense, mez duration, speed, etc get a boost. Also, If you have a buff/debuff that is a long duration (like Farsight, 2 minute duration), if it is activated in the Clarion's boost window (80% for first 15 seconds?), you get the 80% boost for the entire duration. I don't know about pets, however. I don't think they get boosted when you cast them. -
Haha, I ask myself the same thing everyday. Just think...we once had to choose Fitness as a pool power. I might give up on the Fighting pool. Just take Rune of Protection and use Concealment for my LotG mules and use Stealth as a half-assed Weave. But I don't know if I'm ready to go that far yet.

I slotted the power with 6 procs: Ragnorak, Positron, Javelin Volley, Frozen Blast, Overwhelming Force, and Annihilation. On first cast, all (or almost all) of these procs hit. So you have a nice start to your attack as the target has been hit with 2 damage procs, now has a -12.5% resistance debuff for 10 seconds , is knocked on his butt, and will be immobilized in his own damage patch (which gets the resistance debuff). So yeah, a very nice start. After this point, the procs hit at the regularity you would expect for a 15-18 second pseudopet patch. For each proc in the power, I tend to see it fire one or two more times, again, very nice. Honestly, given the uptime of the power, the fact it does decent damage with a relatively short cast time (~2.25 sec), it definitely has some great utility. Personally, I would say the damage and res debuff procs are musts, but the knockdown and immobilizes can be swapped out for damage enhancing.

Coincidentally enough, I did this exact testing tonight. I can tell you that when casting Enflame, it acts as a long click power, so basically any proc in it will fire (I did not slot recharge in my test and I don't know the radius of the pet, so I won't pretend to speak for all situations, but given the 90 second base recharge it is likely you'll hit 90% probability with all your procs on first cast). After my cast of Enflame hits, it proceeds to summon 5 more patches. These patches seems to act more inline with pseudopets (so no...your procs won't all fire again with each summon). I typically was seeing 1-2 more procs over the duration of the power, which is decent, but not a game changer in my opinion.

Good question. I can probably tackle that this weekend. That's one of the easier tests to do as I can set it on auto, walk away, then see which activation time makes the most sense given the HeroStats results. In fact, I will load up the recharge in the power to emphasize the activation time, which should make the answer obvious.
