I'm still amazed at the names I can find available on Excelsior.

Recent additions include:

  • Bikini
  • Expectation
  • Irish Cream
  • Little Trickster
  • Overpowering
  • Personal Escort
  • Stone Time
  • Thunder-Blade
  • Wind Woman

I wonder if Wind-up Woman (or Wind-up Man or any other Wind-up xxx) is taken?  Which suggests a new costume back piece: gigantic wind up key.

Not the kind of wind I was thinking of.  Mine takes advantage of the storm blast and summoning powersets.

In the past few weeks I've somehow scored Hydrogen and Trifecta on Excelsior just by trying them on a whim.

How can F-Bomb be bad?  Unless you're walking around dropping F-bombs, it's a PG-rated way of saying the word without saying the word... like saying "frickin."  We know what it means, but its pretty much acceptable to say on public TV and radio and kids can say it without people losing their ship.

This sounds to me like someone going overboard with the code of conduct enforcement.

I agree; I'm all for keeping actual profanity out of character names, but that's like censoring "fricking" or "dagnabbit." Unless there's more context (costume, behavior, bio, etc) that's being left out here and exacerbated the issue, there's no reason to generic it.

(The title/name combination was actually pretty clever, too.)

I too had the name F-Bomb until just recently.  And as far as context goes, I would drop false F-bombs in General chat... like just saying "Fudge" or "Fudge it."

All I can say is:  whoever decided that was against the CoC...  fart you.

I think Fred Friendship should go to the front of the line!

What about with an I? I got Invulnerableman

It really depends on what you do with it.  I mean, if it looks like a Superman copy with blue tights and red cape & red underwear on the outside along with the yellow belt and the i symbol being in red and yellow on a white guy with dark hair...  that is a Superman copy and very likely to be found to be a trademark infringement by legal standards.

If your Invulnerableman has other color tights with a pattern that doesn't look at all like Superman's iconic look, along with a different face & hair from the original... then Invulnerableman would be considered legally distinct (from Superman; if you copy someone else then that could still be problematic).

Someone took offense at the Ineffable F-Bomb, so after he got generic-ed I renamed him the Inexorable X-Bomb.

Bring it on, I can keep this up all.  day.  Well at least for a few more letters.

That’s a drag. I have “F. Bomb” on Excelsior and the bio reads, “The F stands for Fusion. Get your mind out of the gutter.” He’s a Rad/Rad Tanker, so it fits.

Go for Storm/Storm. It's pure, lovely chaos.
