NINE..... DAYS..... I was actually, and i said so at least 3 or 4 times. 18 minutes ago, Xanatos said: So you ranting about the 10 sec/30sec/60sec buffs being useless was at best not a counter to anything I said, and at worst completely irrelevant to the conversation. I wasnt ranting partner, i was simply showing you how useless barrier as a buff was to this discussion, and if you need to prop yourself up with 6% on either of these builds you have gone seriously wrong in your build. Its not irrelevant when you are giving out bad advice like that. 20 minutes ago, Xanatos said: And yes, it's perfectly viable to go with lower resist, take Ageless, and still tank fine. But if you're happy playing an invuln tank at 82% resist...play an invuln brute. You'll do more damage. Im fine with my tank thank you very much 🙂 again, 82% is more than enough on an invul - should you ever find yourself in trouble Melee core has a nice 2 min buff thats better than a T9 IMO That hardly ever happens. 22 minutes ago, Xanatos said: I hope you one day copy my P2W strategy, much like others in this thread are coming around to. I dont need them, my tanks are strong enough out of the box without needing a crutch. But if you like them YMMV MPTY 23 minutes ago, Xanatos said: Haha, yeah I've had quite a lot of rage thrown my way in this thread. Pointing out your mistakes or misdirections is not rage my friend. modest
From the start, I suspected that the arguing in this thread was a form of angry flirtation. It's nice to see my suspicions proved correct. Here are my predictions for phrases that we will see written in the near future: "The dullest pain that I can imagine is nine days without a reply from you." "Your wall of emotional invincibility taunts me so that I feel inexplicably drawn to you." "You've shattered the particle shielding around my heart. Don't ask me to absorb these feelings! Only time will regenerate what my heart has lost." "I find it impossible to resist your energies. Your magnetism is unstoppable, and the tension between us is unyielding." "This moment, here and now, is the ground zero of our shared future. Every word from you is a gamma boost to my very soul!" "I hope that you can overlook my poor innate performance. I promise that you will be satisfied with my tenacity after I consume 8 hour enhancing boosters." 2

ninja surprise
I kinda zoned out over the last 7 pages; can I get a tl;dr? Is it better to have two pizzas with double pepperoni or 5 pizzas with half pepperoni but then buy extra pepperoni on the side? Edit: So really though, summary is both are good but Rad is more expensive to make really good? But you'll still end up wishing you'd gone Shield/Mace because it has the best taunt? (unless you use the female body because then it screams like a banshee) Edited August 12, 2020 by ninja surprise
Hyperstrike
Basically Invuln is a tougher nut by a small margin. But the margin's so small, that in 99.999% of content, it doesn't make any difference. 1 If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK! Slithershot
So, I read through all 14 pages of this thread. My brain hurts, and I'm still no closer to figuring out which is actually better because of so many opinions... and I already have a rad/rad tanker... so! I think after over a decade it's time to finally play an invuln/SS tanker. The Myth, the classic, the legend. Being that my brain has been completely melted by literally every post Habibi (or whatever his name was) made took away exactly 42 brain cells, can someone post me their -best- invuln/SS tanker build? I'm looking for something that will survive literally almost anything and still be able to do decent damage when I'm not yanking mobs off my poor squishies. Money is not an issue, I have billions in my scrooge mcduck gold tower just waiting for this moment. I'm putting this up against my super decked out SR/claws tanker (thanks again Bill) so gimme your best shot!

Basically Resist-Capped to everything save Cold (82.3%) and Psi (88.8%), natively, with only the Alpha. Switching from Cardiac to Resilient would cap Psi. But your base End consumption would rise. If you assume you only get a singular bump from the +Res proc in Scorch, you can rely on the base Buff in Barrier and it'll cap Psi for you. Meltdown isn't really gonna do too much for you. But the +DMG is nice. And you become an absolute AOE MONSTER. Gobbledigook
12 hours ago, Tsuko said: I would go for something like that to begin with. Taking best of both world from tanky vs procs build, sort of balanced one before chosing which aspect you prefer (or do as me, just making 2 builds lol) It's a quick try but that could be a good base. ( @Gobbledegook will recognize the procs :p) Ageless should make your hasten perma and will provide you more than needed stam. Given that the Devastating / Siphon combo will allow you a 100% sure 537,9 heal every 4,8 seconds, i feel this build can tank extremly hard without Rebirth) About Area damage, better have few attacks with huge recharge (used with Build up / gaussian) than a lot of trash powers, caressing enemies to death. callador0630
On 8/8/2020 at 3:04 PM, SwitchFade said: Respectfully, I don't really need an explanation of what they mean when they say it, I'm well aware 😉 It's the same as when I see people claim they can bench press 405lbs... With a compression shirt, wrist wraps, help lifting it off the rack, half repping or bouncing off their chest... Summons and temps to me mean the build can't do what one claims, without outside help. Alpha and hybrid are enhancing an aspect of the build that already is inherent, where as havaing to revisit p2w or base temp to refresh is, to me, outside the build itself. All that said, no disrespect, it's totally cool, but it's still not what I consider Solo. Additionally, I'm not a role player, but I do build characters for theme, because it's personally neat to have a concept. Again, I'm perfectly ok with anyone claiming or thinking it, and why I haven't mentioned it before. But 405 with no help and no wraps or shirts or help is in a different league then with all the handicaps. I powerlift and can't think of any feds that don't allow wrist wraps in the raw division. You also get a hand-off. You do have to pause on the bottom to get the press command. So that would be the "gold standard" for a raw bench press, since it follows the rules set in competition by most if not all feds. Any additional handicaps (5 second pause, etc) would be self inflicted. And it's ok to do that, but you won't win yourself any points competing that way. I'm new to this game, but I see the builds going on the same way. There should be a standard (pretty much any power you can get, even if they are not up 100% of the time), but outside buffs shouldn't be allowed. But I'm new and really don't know much about it. But I can tell you everything about powerlifting having completed, coached and judged since 2011.

Basically Switchfade is/was pretty respectful in his reply but it does not mean anyone else but him need to follow his self-applied handicap. The only thing that matters is when 'competing' such as in pylons or time-it-took-to-solo-a-TF to be upfront about what was used so the metric is not skewed. That is why in pylon times a person will say if they used Incarnate clickies and lore pets and the same for TF soloing. - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.
