I believe this quality of life "improvement" predates Homecoming.  What is the purpose of obviating tailor shops by having trainers be able to change your costume?  It wasn't long after they added a shop to Atlas Park that trainers gained this ability.  (It might have strangely even been the same issue.)  To me it just clutters the trainer's dialogue window with cr*p that has nothing to do with training.  That and being able to modify your title is enough.  IMO, almost all tailoring should be done in a shop.

The one exception I might make is for newbies in Atlas, Mercy, and Nova Praetoria (?).  Up to level 10, keep the free tailoring sessions they offer.  After that, if you want to update or add another costume, what is the problem of going to one of the shops?

I don't see s problem with using a trainer or going to a shop.

Do what you like.

And if you think the dialog with the trainers is cluttered due to offering another option, I think you are just looking for things to pick at, TBH.

Useless Drama, IMO.

I think it's intuitive to have a costume customisation option with the trainers. I certainly use it whenever I pick a power that cannot be pre-customised in the costume creator, like Combat Jumping Min FX or Sorcery Flight. So I reach level 4, pick up flight, switch to min fx in one stop. I suppose that's why trainers have limited customisation abilities as opposed to tailors/surgeons  that can alter your body type and height.

And yes, I agree with Jubakumbi. Customise Your Appearance in the trainer dialog is a just one more line in the trainer's menu option. I don't consider it much of a clutter.

So you mean you'll put down your rock, and I'll put down my sword; and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?

Still don't see a problem, Paragon's energy aura magically prevents any actual naughty bits from being seen, and having fellow Heroes give feedback can make or break an outfit.

Not drama.  I'm not asking for a change, or even complaining.  I was simply bringing up something I view as extraneous, but I don't believe it will ever change.  One point I will make is that if a player's vision is not correctable to 20/20, extra dialog and unnecessary choices can be a bit frustrating.

I think they added costume tailoring to the trainers specifically because back in ye olde live days players would complain about how they had to dare the dangers of the streets to get to the Icon or Facemaker shops. That was also when trains and ferries weren't consolidated so a new hero had to scamper across the length of Steel Canyon if they wanted to change their tights.

So it's a vision impairment issue.

Working in the software business, I know it's hard for any company to create UIs that work for all people in all situations.

IME, people paid to make UIs are often terrible at doing it, especially with disabilities are considered.

With that said, if your goal is not get anything changed and simply to lament the fact the game cannot accomodate all humans properly, then enjoy doing that, I guess.

And changing heights and body types require the specialist Icon / face makers at the shop.

OR, outside the shop in the case of Atlas Icon.

If I'm not mistaken.

There is one inside of ICON in Atlas last I checked.  It is the one to the right at the back.
