What is the set you would definitely play on Corruptor?

I have a lot of Defenders. Everytime I start a new Corruptor, I end-up re-rolling it as Defender. I'm one of those people who prefer Defender over Corruptors.

But I should really get one Corruptor and level it to 50, because why not? Can't have a dozen defenders and no corruptors!

So, what would be the sets that you think play better on Corruptor?

I'm having a lot of fun with an AR/Dark corruptor lately, and my main is a rad/dark one. I played a dark/rad defender version of that main to 50 back in the day but when Going Rogue dropped I deleted it and brought the corruptor blueside almost immediately. Numerically speaking the defender was absolutely stronger, but Rad (and AR/ for that matter) both work really nicely with Scourge, while Dark Miasma's whole shtick has always felt like a better fit to a villainous AT for me.

Fire/TA.  Insane number of ranged attacks (meaning you can cap ranged def for chump change) and debuffs that feed right into scourge.  Things just burst into flames and die when they see you.

Anything you can have, we have it.  Even got a devil in the attic.

In terms of primaries, Ice and Archery. These are the two primaries with rain-based ultimates, so they give Blasters serious competition for sweeping the room clear. With most ultimate, you unleash the entire damage on a full health spawn. With Blizzard and Rain of Arrows, the first hit will be against full health targets but the remaining ticks won't. As a result, they get a lot more benefit from Scourge.

In terms of secondaries, Cold Domination is the big one due to the fact that most of the powers aren't ones where you particularly care about the buff scale and the one power you really do care about the buff scale (Sleet) has the same -resist on both Defender and Corruptor.

I think you just sold me /Cold. This is exactly what I was looking for. As an extra I never played Cold before 😄

Now I'm undecided between Seismic (since it's the new kid), Ice (theme points!) and Water (theme + self heal). Oh well, I'm off on vacations in two days, I will decide it while I'm roasting in the pool 😄

Thanks all for your feedback!

Ice/Cold, Water/Cold, Water/ and Fire/Storm.  Just really can’t get these kinds of experiences with any other AT.  Add in /Dark for Soul Drain as a ghetto Fulcrum Shift and it’s literally some of the most powerful powersets in the game.

I've got four level 50 corruptors - Rad/Dark, Fire/Time, Arch/TA and Ice/Kin. They're all beasts, but I really like Ice/Kin. Fulcrum Shift + Blizzard never gets old. Rain powers benefit from Scourge and Kinetics is better on a corruptor because of the higher damage cap.

I couldn't wait a full week so I ended picking Mids and got this. Going with Water/Cold finally

But I have to say that this sounds very interesting and I will roll it too, at some point. Who knows? I may end up liking Corruptors more than Defenders 😛 (very unlikely xD)

Bow/Nature with focus in nature.

i only use blazing, explosive and rain of arrows.

leadership,TP and shield+Pet from epicpool makes this a great supporter.

this is my tophero besides a fire/ma blaster.

*/kin. Anything with a decent amount of DoT is going to be better. I can't fathom going Kin/fire when there is a Corr option.

^ This.

The reason is you can still hit caps pretty easily and Corruptors damage cap is 100% higher than defenders (along with the increased base damage numbers).

Note that it's not all DoT that Scourge works well with, just any "patch" type Rains which need to continually make ToHit rolls, because that seems to also be when the chance to scourge is tested. So every Rain tick individually rolls for Scourge and because scourge is more likely with lower health the gradual erosion of HP due to the ticks means more and more follow-on scourging ticks.

Here's the thing:

There are few cases where you would roll Corruptor over Defender speaking from a pure mathematics perspective. HOWEVER, there are some very very notable and meta exceptions to the rule. Fire/Kinetics is always better rolled on Corruptor than Defender. Why? Because Corruptors have higher base damage, they have crits, and they have a higher damage cap to abuse Kinetics. Kinetics in most cases is better rolled on Corruptor than Defender. Cold Domination is another big one that's usually always better served rolling on a Corruptor than a defender.

I quite enjoy my AR/Pain Corruptor.  I jump in and out of groups to spread my buffs/debuffs and then scourge the hell out of things with my cone attacks.  Also using the heal bubble to power Oppressive Gloom from my Epic is just hilarious to me

I assume Pain performs better on Defenders but honestly I never see anyone play it anyway so I dunno

Kinetics and cold domination tend to find happier placement on corruptors over defenders. Fire, water, and ice stand out among primaries due to access to scourging rain powers but otherwise the biggest outlier between corr performance and defender performance is likely kinetics.

Currently on fire.

Personally, I only play Corruptors, not Defenders.  Like Tankers, I just find Defenders too safe, too slow, and too boring.  So take this post with a grain of salt.

As others have said, Cold Domination and Kinetics are superior on Corruptors.  Force Field is as well, thanks to the higher magnitude mez protection from Dispersion Bubble.  I would dare say that Trick Arrow is better on Corruptors as well.  Scourging Oil Slick is yummy.  For primaries, Archery, Fire Blast, Ice Blast, and Water Blast are better on Corruptors.

That said, I would not rely on Cold Domination not getting the Dark Miasma treatment.  It is only a matter of time.
