So i just got my ^^^^.

Im looking for a guide on....general things i should or should not be doing.  I understand this is vague.

Ive got my alpha slot and looked up leveling it up and such, and where that salvage comes from, so ITFs, but should i avoid some as a not tricked out level 50?   should i aim for doing something specific for a while then build up to "higher ITFs"?

apologies for not being exactly specific, as i dont have much knowledge besides what i can find on here for guides to things and having little luck with the googles so far.

Congratulations on your 50! 💥🏆🎉💥

Play the 50 and it will all work out.

I agree with our resident bloodsucker here.

Congratulations. Playing the lvl 50 character, you'll build up influence, Reward merits, incarnate threads/enp merits, get recipes to drop, etc. you can use mods reborn and make a build on there then work towards slotting it out, unlock accolade powers, do TFs, Itrials, Dark Astoria content, etc.

Only one piece of the salvage comes from the ITF.  There are lots of other task forces that drop needed items.

The only task forces you might want to avoid currently are 'hard mode'.  These will be announced as hard mode or 1-star, 2-star, etc.  Currently, hard mode only exists for Imperious, Aeon and Lady Grey.  Anything else is fair game.

You can also start doing 'incarnate trials'.  This is high level content that will get you the materials to craft the incarnate powers in the other five slots.  Some of the harder itrials have specific requirements (like having higher level incarnate slots unlocked).  The 'starter itrials' are BAF (Behavior Adjustment Facility, but no one calls it that) and Lambda.  People typically recruit in Ouroboros.  Depending on what shard you're on, there might be a public schedule of what will be run each day.

Originally on Infinity.  I have Ironblade on every shard.  -  My only AE arc:  The Origin of Mark IV  (ID 48002)

Link to the story of Toggle Man, since I keep having to track down my original post.

thanks for some tips.  i know baf is the kind of "entry" level incarnate, but i should be ok to do any incarnate trial? as long as not the hard modes?

i have mids builds for all 6 of my current guys. how good they are is debatable, but i can worry more about that later.

i just didnt want to join something and then be a complete waste of space for it. (playing rad/rad defender, so how useful could also be questioned past debuffs)

Thanks(?) for the link hc wiki link.  ill make sure i close all 6 open tabs i have of that before clicking on that one.

Stuff drops as you play (and continue to level, up to vet level 100.)

Things to avoid for now: Hard mode, Magisterium (which I typically see as advertised for 50+some levels, IE your level shifts.)

Things to run: Lower itrials (BAF/Lambda.) Dark Astoria - it's specifically incarnate content.  Also "anything else," stuff will drop as you play.

Tip: If running Mender Ramiel's arc to unlock alpha? Just drop the difficulty to -1x1, skip as much as you can (basically stealth non-talk-to missions 1 and 3, IE finding Trapdoor and the well/fighting the minotaur.) Why? You get Alpha unlocked at the end *anyway,* so why go through all the effort? *shrug* Always feels like the ixp you earn during the arc is basically wasted ixp at that point, to me.

Incarnate trials are based on progression.  BAF and Lambda are fine to start.

get your 50+1 (good in all 45+ content) by tier 3 your alpha of choice.

there are two other level shifts (only pop in incarnate trials) for tier 3 Lore and Destiny.  Better to wait for the other trials for this to happen first

If you are in Excelsior, I recommend trying to get on a labyrinth team. Most are calling it speedy - but the only way to do it slowly would be to limit your movement - which might be bad, as the minotaur might catch you!

There's a lot of information to absorb in the Labyrinth of Fog, but the rewards:
25% more xp than anywhere else in game ( which would certainly help you unlock your incarnate slots relatively quickly)
When you defeat the mino, you get an incarnate award table, in addition to a choice of
5 Prismatics and 10 Monstrous Aethers ( you can sell the first one, and get a pet with the latter, or exchange the MAs for more prismatics  - which you can also get a Costume toggle with)
3 Ultimate Inspirations (which give you a level shift for a minute)
or 4 emp merits, which will certainly be useful in your incarnate journey.

Various defeat badges, if your leader takes you to this Orange Font of Malevolence room. And, 75 merits if the Avatar of Achylus appears and gets defeated.
I can't speak for the other servers. I suspect the others are also doing this as well, but can't be sure.

Lab is easy, at least on Excelsior.  Goddess runs one regular.  Watch LFG.  You get two powers in Lab. Teleport to “anyone you select in league” and teleport to start of lab. Teleport to leader or any non melee.  If you TP to a tank chances are they are neck deep in mobs and you will die.  If you die go to Hosp (same as start) then tp to someone again.  TP to anyone that says they are killing fog. You kill fogs to get league more power. Then you find minotaur for big fight. There is lots more to lab than that, but that is basics that i know.

Congrats on your new 50!!

...

Now make another - *joking*

Have you done badges? Accolades?

https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Badges

I make sure my characters get certain Badges and Accolades. Both take time.

Decide if something like that will help.

Are you in a SuperGroup?

If not, join one; most have nightly events.

You can also make your own, and that leads to Base Building. These can be super detailed or basic and functional.

There is a Spring Character Contest where we use a generator and have to use that character.

@Troo  Can you post a link? I can't find it. 🙂

I have several characters from it because they are ATs and Powersets I have not played or combos I had not considered before.

Commit.

Meaning .... have a plan of some sort.

This can be anything like playing every possible combo of a Fire blaster because you like it

I am currently working on ALL my alts a month at a time.

I play an alt for a month. Getting as far as I can Incarnate and Badge wise etc.

I have a Rad/Dark Brute that I was ready to quit during the first week. She wasn't feeling right for me.

I stayed with her and figured out how to play her better.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet: Tinpex

Good for merits and incarnate components. It's a 2-in-1 TF deal and can be be done fast.

Torchbearer: Flitz (MA/SR Scrapper), Lead Hose (AR/Dev Blaster), Red Rag (Fire/Fire Brute) ... and many more!

What are you doing?!

Obviously, it is time to make an alt or 5!

What power set haven't you tried yet?

What archetype haven't you tried yet!?

Don't wither away on the end-game hamster-wheel of grinding!

There is so much more to explore!

What?

"Guides"?!

The world is your to explore!

But, that being said, some like the grind.

But, if you decide you want to play some non-end-game content, bring in a character that is more on level with the content instead of bringing in your shiny new 50 on speed runs when other people are trying to use the non-end-game content to level up and experience playing their characters on level.

Okay?

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

To my knowledge those kick in for DA content as well.

Gratz!

Dude, make the mistakes!  :))

There aren't any real wrong ways to go. And if you're like me you'll be tweaking and tweaking until you got it like you want it. Or you'll post up a question and one of the vets will help ya out.

You get loads of threads for your first few levels, after that you rely on threads to drop. Personally, I've found it easier to T3 my alpha then pop into some Apemage TFs, ITF, DA content, or anything that rewards incarnate components. Each common is worth at least 20 threads, uncommon is 60, then there are the rare and very rare which are worth Emp merits, fastest way to gearing your incarnate powers, IMO.

But everything can be undone or done over, if you find that you've taken the wrong path.

Seriously, though, you've found probably the best game out there, and it has a great community both on the forums and in-game.

Have fun!

Congo Ratz on 50!

Keep on Keepin on is the best advice I have.  You are what makes the game evergreen to you.

Heather Townsend in Dark Astoria has a 4 Mish story arc that upon completion it will give a choice reward of

1. An extra Empyrean merit

2. Random Incarnate Salvage

( common , uncommon , rare or very rare).

3. Random Super Inspirations.

The whole story arc if run at 0/1 will take about 15 minutes per run.
