AboveTheChemist Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Not sure if this is intentional or not (no worries if it is), but the freebies menu is missing from its normal spot in the quick menu at the end of the chat bar. The /popmenu freebiesmenu command works to spawn it, but the version on Brainstorm is one version old and is missing a few recent updates. 2 Popmenus > Badge List | Optimal Paths | Conversion Possibilities | Emotes Wiki Pages > Costume Color Schemes | Set Bonus Comparison Tables Maps > Vidiotmaps | Optimal Paths | Halloween GM Maps | Winter Gift Maps | Offline Map Viewer Sounds > Banshee Sonic Attack Datasets > Recipe Salvage Components | Badge Name & Settitle ID | Exploration Badge & History Plaque Coordinates

I didn't see any new badges either as I logged in, so I don't think I have the new Mafioso badge. I'd say the event hasn't been turned on yet. Weirdly, the first two Family I killed yielded four tips. I don't know for sure which ones. Should that even be possible?

I was reading old school as in 'pre-Sunset' since the Family and the Skulls had their original versions replaced with updated models and power options in the final issues on Live. Seems like a really fun way to keep doing future revamps and upgrades to villain groups while keeping the original incarnations around occasionally rather than entirely shelved. Like last year with these Badges: Gardener for defeating 25 Old School Circle of Thorns Zeta Reticulan for defeating 25 Old School Rikti I think they spawn from the Anniversary Time Capsules that are opened. Like with the new Anniversary Badge, Cheers!, those TIme Capsules probably show up when the flag that indicates it's the May Anniversary Event turns on for the month of May. It can be switched on independently, especially for testing, but appears to still be off. Seeing that Anniversary Badge will be the sign that the Event has been turned on. AboveTheChemist Posted April 17 Posted April 17 (edited) I just logged into Brainstorm and still don't see capsules or the anniversary badge, but perhaps it just needs a bit more time. I see the capsules now, no Cheers! badge though. Regarding the freebies menu, the big things that are missing from the version that is currently on Brainstorm are the Cupid's Crush grant code, and the codes to grant Mark & Recall and Sheer Willpower. So, until the current version of the freebies menu is able to be loaded onto Brainstorm, here are the grant codes for those if anyone needs them. Cupids Crush: /boostset Cupids_Crush 1 This will give you a whole set. There are different (more complex) grant codes for individual pieces, but for simplicity's sake if you need individual pieces, I'd use the above and just toss the pieces you don't need. Or, you can visit any merit vendor, get the free merits (under Beta Testing), and buy the pieces you need. Mark & Recall: /badge_grant MarkRecallAccolade Sheer Willpower: /badge_grant ProtectorOfParagon /badge_grant StrikeForceCommander If you care about alignment, use the top one for heroes and the bottom one for villains. Otherwise, either will do. The only other freebies changes were some editorial changes that aren't super critical. EDIT TO ADD: If anyone needs maps of the time capsule locations, my Winter Gifts map mod should work. The capsules should be in the same spots as the winter gifts. Well, I know that this isn't really a high damage character, but, even when using dom after running out of end, and keeping on of the 3 targets confused for the entire time - it sure seems like it takes 5 minutes to defeat a group of 3 when solo, so 42 minutes for 25 of each? if you find them ... amid all the others. Sure will be time consuming, but I figure that's part of the whole point of these anyway. Since it is collaborative as long as teammates stay close enough to share credit, it would go much faster while on a team. 1 If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. gameboy1234 Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Time capsules are now in Mercy! I can verify that badge progress is now appearing for "Old School Rikti" in the Closest To Completion window.
lemming Posted April 17 Posted April 17 (edited) Opening Capsules and got skulls twice, no progress toward any badge, but the CoT are showing progress on the badge. Badges only for Circle, Rikti, Skulls, and Family this year. Edited April 17 by lemming adding non-badge groups
lemming Posted April 17 Posted April 17 (edited) Ok, I think the description of the badge might be wrong. I believe the second Rikti progress is the Skull one. edit: Fixed in upcoming patch Edited April 17 by lemming 3

Last year's thread on low level players vs time capsule enemies difficulty: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/51358-youre-not-crazy-the-anniversary-ambushes-are-hard-for-your-low-level-alt-to-kill As far as I can tell, the combat mechanics are unchanged this year on test server. Level 50 player versus low level time capsule enemy, the damage scales down, and it's fine, same as last year. Level 1 player versus high level time capsule enemy, takes forever, sometimes impossible, same as last year. Only the spawning mechanics seem to have changed. Time capsule enemies sometimes spawn at lower levels than they did last year. Possibly random, not zone dependent. My level 1 character got level 27 Nemesis in Atlas Park in this screenshot, very time consuming. Later, he got level 43 Nemesis medics, also in Atlas Park, completely impossible.
