For this build on Web Envelope at level 41 there is an empty slot.   Was something supposed to go in there?  Is it needed there or could it be moved somewhere else?  Just curious.     I've been thinking about /kin proc monsters and this fits the bill for sure.   FS to buff normal damage + procs to add even more.

Looking at it, no, I can't say there was something obvious to put there, so probably something in error. Very possible I unintentionally pulled a slot from somewhere, but nothing else looked out of place. I did notice a different path to get Energy defense closer to 45% and give Ranged a padding closer to 32% though:

All procs I left as they were.

(sidenote: how do I hide builds like you did?)

The reason Super Speed was in the build is two-fold: One, I absolutely hate having to siphon anything just to get jump-started traveling somewhere, and then it wears off, and I have to do it again, so Super Speed will always be in a Kin build (for me personally). Two, when creating a build that's going out for public use like this, having that intrinsic slot for a travel power is kind of a courtesy for others to trade out with their own preferred option. With CJ in there, that gives SJ, and the ability to take out CJ and replace it with Hover and take Flight as some prefer vertical mobility.

As for what you did with the LotG sets, in the process of added mild +Acc (to fix what you stole), you also dropped HP in the process, and only the Unbreakable Unique is what brought you up again. Adding a slot to Stamina means nothing to a Kin (and honestly I haven't run a single build in a very long time with anything more than two slots in Stamina) with Transference. Of which, the reason Transference was slotted for End Mod was to increase its initial hit towards 100% (stops shy at ~96%).

The relevant core of what you added: Unbreakable Guard's HP Unique, Tactics, and Reactive Defenses Resist Unique. To fit Tactics, upon kind of really considering it, Aim is kind of unnecessary here given all the floating damage buffs possible, and the fact that I pretty much C&P'd Ice Blast out of my Corruptor when I puzzled the build together. If I trade out Aim for Tactics, I only need to move one IO, and one slot to do all this. Now has more inherent accuracy across the entire build, without sacrificing any of the initial integrity. The reason the .3/.6% Defense being off in Energy/Ranged isn't a huge deal: Bitter Ice Blast. Against difficult single targets, BiB has a -15% (w/ Intuition) To-Hit Debuff and that way over compensates. Plus Repel is going to turn you into a canon ball, so it matters even less. All-in-all, worthwhile adds that don't take much to slide into the build, so good catch, just didn't need to chop-suey so much to do it 🙂

You can put a gaussian's in aim and proc buildup on your aim. the damage bonus from it stacks with the damage bonus in aim and also buildup. ust fwiw 🙂 It would likely put a kin def over the cap however.

I am trying to make a trick arrow/dark blast proc monster based on what you showed for your builds on your dark/dark and trick arrow/archery. There isn't really an issue with redraw for me because i turned off the "no redraw" option in powers, so a bow just magically appears in my hand. Thematically, I pretend I summoned it. 🙂

However, I am crap at builds and I am not sure what to go for end game wise. Leveling it is doing fine except for the standard low level team response of "oh, you aren't a healer" which i am used to from playing dark defender 😛 At 23, i can solo big packs of yellows and whites with no real issue and i only have a javelin and a proc in ice arrow so far. I have all the procs i need eventually, just not the slots yet!

Anyway, can someone help me fix this mess? I need to take a power from dark that doesn't fit in the trick arrow/archery template you have, so I can't sub one for one. I don't know if I should go tentacles->torrent->nightfall or leave nightfall out, since i forsee there being a lot of aoe damage in this to begin with, or have a stronger single target attack chain and bring in life drain. Please help!

There's a ton of AoE and ST going on, adding another Dark or TA power is up to you, but what I'd suggest would probably be to actually at the Disruptor into the mix from the Epic. In general combat missions when dealing with large spawns, Tenebrous and Torrent are going to keep them pretty occupied and slowly whittle them down, but having that Arachnid climb into the mix while they're incapacitated would be a nice way to speed up your damage. TT can be cycled fairly quickly with Torrent, especially when Torrent procs the FF+Rech and recycles itself faster. When your fights boil down to just you and one or two enemies, between Flash Arrow and the -ToHit components of the dark attacks, you should be able to stay 30-40% -ToHit which is going to be a pretty significant amount. AV's can resist some of that, but it might be enough to give some reasonable level of survival to the Arachnid when you're fighting a singular hard target, and the added damage--again--would be nice.

Going this route does put a trash Mace power into the build, but honestly just about anything that got added was going to be an excess un-needed power anyway. If you would prefer to do something like one of the Dark abilities, then I'd suggest maybe going Glue Arrow (base slot with a proc) and Dark Pit as a little extra "oh crap" power to disorient a group on occasion. I don't see either of those seeing a ton of use though, so that's why I think going with the pet is a better choice since it can stay active and around as much as possible, and be of some benefit.

Thank you for your analysis on this! Yes, it felt like anything extra was just going to be icing on the cake or a power that sat on my bar unused. It's a busy build, and requires attacks to cycle (torrent, tentacles) to do certain things, kinda like combos. I have her up to 31 now and while i still don't "heal" I notice teams clear quickly and take a ton less damage when I am in the mix. I also solo very, very well! Thanks for coming up with this idea, I am having a ton of fun with it!

Has anyone played with powers like Tesla Cage and making it proc to a mag 7 hold?

You can add two chance at mag 2 holds (Devastation and Lockdown). According to Pines each hold proc has a 90% chance of hitting. So that should equate to an 81% chance of getting mag 7... unless it doesn't stack and instead does an additive thing.

Either way sounds like a fun thing to try.

Tesla Cage has a 10 second recharge and 2.17 second cast. If I recall, the hold procs are 3 PPM, so I believe the probability for one to proc is 60.8%.

This would mean you have a 37% chance for the Mag 7 hold. Also a 47.6% chance that just one procs for a mag 5 hold. This leaves only a 15.3% chance that none procs (Mag 3 hold).

I haven't tried it, personally, but I almost did using an epic hold that did have a 90% chance to proc. I think I was going to 6 slot Soul Storm with 4 damage procs and 2 hold procs that I could cycle every 10 seconds. Kinda wish I had so I could answer your question specifically, but I have no reason to believe the holds won't stack.

Edit: I was able to confirm that both the Lockdown and Devastation proc will stack for a Mag 7 hold. However I was wrong about Lockdown, it's a 2.5 PPM proc, so disregard my previous calculations. The Lockdown for Tesla Cage would have a ~50% chance to proc and the Devastation would be ~60%. So probability you get a mag 7 hold is 30.9%, prob for mag 5 is 49.8%, and prob for mag 3 is 19.3%.

Also, it seems I could get the procs to stack with themselves too. I slotted my Time Stop with the Lockdown proc and occasionally achieve a mag 4 from Lockdown through double stacking.

Oops. I was thinking about a different hold power. oh well, thanks for the clarify.

Gahh, we were replying at the same time. I edited my previous post, so take a look. I did some tests that should help.

Awesome. Thanks for the look see. Sounds like it's well worth it.

If I remember right, each of them is ~8 sec worth of hold so that makes it nice for some proc damage too. I'm looking at 3 damage procs and 2 hold procs and 1 ACC/Hold to give it some extra acc.

This is on my Time/Elec I've been having a blast with so far. from level 10 i've been going -1/8 and it's working better than many other sets i've tried. Only level 15 but still going strong and only gonna get better.

Now, can I stand being evil long enough to get my Soul epics. 🙂

On my Plant/Dark controller I use both of the hold proc chances in my single target hold. I've also got Seismic Smash as an epic, and I slot a single one in there (5 slot Winter for the rest).

Anecdotally, the one on Seismic Smash fires off fairly often, but at least one of the two fire off nearly every single time in the single target hold. I have not regretted it a single bit, it's uncommon for bosses to not get one shot held.

When you get Farsight, you shouldn't need ACC. Go ahead and load that baby up with 4 damage procs and 2 hold procs. It'll be fun to hold an Elite Boss and wittle him down with proc damage.

Quick question: does Ageless count as enhancement recharge? If so, does it also count as enh recharge if it's from another player?

No. Only the Alpha incarnates could count as enhancements. Everything else (like Destiny incarnates) are treated as Global buffs.

Tenebrous and Torrent

Plenty of effort burned on these topics tonight. Some things I trialed with Tenebrous was, of course, effectiveness of Procs in the power, but more specifically I wanted to know how Gravitational Anchor's +Hold would pan out in the cone. We know that, after a certain point, Procs become pretty much "guaranteed" in ST attacks, but cones and AoE's have an area multiplier that fiddles with that a bit. So for Teneb T's, my final conclusion after chasing 10-drop after 10-drop Malta mobs in the RWZ (about 20 in total) plus a few half dozen Rikti mobs right before that weren't clumped enough that I looked for Malta: 2 out of 10, so 1/5, or 20% success rate. Some things to keep in mind though, these Malta spawns had Lieuts and Bosses (two each boss on average), and the +Hold Proc is only a 3.5 PPM with a Mag 2. If it "hit" on a Boss, or a decently resisting Lieut, the effect wont show, which I could attribute to the fact that I was consequently getting follow-up stacks to hold Boss levels and only attacking with Teneb T's to validate that fact. If I had four or fewer mobs in a given cluster, the likelihood of seeing a hold was pretty much null.

Food for thought on that one. I saw the damage procs fire off in those larger clusters pretty consistently on something in the group, but the +Hold, much lower opportunity there. And I just realized, typing this, that I forgot to pull the combat log to go back over it later. I never converted the log into my chat tab so it'd auto-log. Kind of kicking myself on that right now. Either way, YMMV kind of concept of the status-based procs there. Being able to fairly-consistently take one or two targets out of given mob size was pretty decent, and up to the discretion of the player. In a team setting things will probably mow-down faster than that proc really matters, but I'm more looking at these as Solo or small-team minded.

You can add two chance at mag 2 holds (Devastation and Lockdown). According to Pines each hold proc has a 90% chance of hitting. So that should equate to an 81% chance of getting mag 7... unless it doesn't stack and instead does an additive thing.

Also, it seems I could get the procs to stack with themselves too. I slotted my Time Stop with the Lockdown proc and occasionally achieve a mag 4 from Lockdown through double stacking.

Pulled a quote from my original post talking about it. I can also confirm that not only will the procs stack on existing hold power mag effects, but they will stack on themselves if you can manage to achieve a secondary activation of the proc within the window duration. I used Gravitational Anchor's +Hold in Tenebrous and got it to stack itself to hold Lieuts/Bosses if the power fired off enough times in the 8/s window and managed to still proc twice on that target. In the realm of ST effects, that obviously pretty easy if you're firing it off a lot.

Fun Note:

Of all the different builds I went through, I got really attached to the idea of a TA/A Proc Monster, and decided to build on on the normal servers. She's 45 right now and only missing the level 50 Purple sets and catalysed ATO's. Having a blast running around and also finding new ways to light Oil Slick! Discovered Explosive Arrow is a pretty reliable way to do it alongside a Proc'd Acid Arrow.

Disruption > Acid > Oil > Rain > Explosive > Fist > Next Spawn. Wait for the rest of the team to realize the Defender just cleared a spawn in less than ten seconds.

Was joining AV (Maria/Unai) teams. Someone commented about how they hated fighting the "tougher" ones, and then we shredded through Diabolique in >30/s and they were like "WTH, where'd we get debuffs from. Trick Arrow? Seriously?!"

One Proc Monster at a time.

That's pretty damn cool

When you get Farsight, you shouldn't need ACC. Go ahead and load that baby up with 4 damage procs and 2 hold procs. It'll be fun to hold an Elite Boss and wittle him down with proc damage.

I've seen your build, and I'm curious, how it's handle going up against AVs?  Have you tried soloing them?  Do you know how much DPS you're putting out?

Are you referring my Jack-of-all-Trades Solo Build posted on page 2 of this thread? I think I have posted numerous versions of my Time/DP/Soul character, so I just want to make sure which one it is. As for your questions, I don't have an answer. I can see how I do running the Tina arc on +4/x8 with AVs if that would suffice. As for knowing the actual DPS, I can maybe calculate it using napkin math (actual with an excel spreadsheet), but how that translates to the game I won't know.

If you are referring to a different build, let me know. I would probably have to revisit it and make tweaks based on new knowledge gained.

Edit: @BrandX, mowing through mobs at +4/x8 was no problem, but when it came time to take on an AV the firepower just wasn't there. It would seem I would have to tweak the build for an optimal ST attack chain and focus less on the AoE aspect. Other than that, I was able to stand toe-to-toe with the AV no problem. I got held once, but my Farsight kept me upright while I waited for Clarion to cooldown.

See, that's what I was getting the feeling with the Time/DP...and I believe it was the build on the second page, yes.

Though, looking at your build, made me realize a Proc'ed out Empty Clips will out damage Dual Wield sans putting the Purple Proc in DW.

When Justin server goes back to being a regular test server, I will try different incarnates. I was using reactive interface for additional -res, but going with -HP or -regeneration might have been better for AV hunting. Also, I would probably need to proc out Pistols and sprinkle it into my attack chain, which will probably come at the expense of empty clips, but I'll look more into it. I won't be able to test again until next week, so be patient.
