So after playing with this set some more on a Blaster I think I do like this set a bit more. I did a SB/TA blaster and the combo of Meteor + OSA is really good. I am not sure if I misread the damage it does last time I played or there was a small change but now that it does some Fire damage it can light up OSA. Anything that Meteor doesn't auto-defeat will burn. Especially after a Upthrust and/or Glue Arrow to keep them in place. And yes I put either a SA: KB to KD or OF: KB to KD in both of them to prevent things from flying out of the Ignited Slick. Rock Shards are still ehh, and I'll probably skip them on my Live build. Since I was staying at range the Shockwaves only kept those really persistent mobs flopping around while I reposition but it was helpful. Then I would fire off the powered up Stalagmites, which is the only time I would use it. I do think that SB needs a bit of work. Upthrust needs to be scaled down to 2/3rds it size I think and maybe a small decrease on it's activation time (maybe .5 faster). Some damage numbers do need a little increase as well (Rock Shards). It's a different powerset for sure, and does feed into my love of Earth powers. It might be able to get me away from Controllers or MM's for a while...might. 😉

So I had a radical idea after doing up a Fire/Poison/Leviathan....a Fire/EA/Dark. Hot Feet is such a drain but between Energizing Circuit and Dark Consumption that shouldn't be an issue (I would use Circuit on my Imps and it would jump to me). That and all the resistances should keep me from dropping if they resist the Bonfire. I am just wondering if someone has had this crazy idea as well. So after unlocking my Lore and Destiny incarnates I started looking at a respec and getting some IO sets slotted. My goal here wasn't to maximize defense but resists as I can share the damage between minions and then heal right away. I just thought I see if anyone has some improvements or suggestions before I commit some serious INF to it. So I rolled up a Earth/Storm Corruptor (man that feels weird to type) and my first impressions using only basic IO's no Incarnates. Meteor - 11/10 Power, would use again. This is hands down one of the best looking powers I have seen in game. While the activation is a bit long I am not complaining as it's either a great opener or at least one after the you stun the mob. As well the damage is great for a nuke. But I am curious as to why there is no fire damage element to it? I think a meteor being brought down from space would have some heat along with it. It would also break up the set from being all Smashing damage. The rest of the set is a mixed bag. The damage seems a bit low, which is not good as Smashing damage is also highly resisted. Outside of Meteor things don't seem to hit as hard. As some people have said before the lack of an actual projectile in some cases is almost subliminally disorientating. Not tracking something (even instinctively) throws you out a bit. But when the animations do hit they seem abnormally large, even on normal size mob. Now I play Earth Control and can relate to huge animations killing my gfx card, but on the bigger mob types. Not on the small ones. I hesitate to even think what this will look like on a full TF. Maybe reducing the size of the 'hit animation' on mobs would be something to look into. Although maybe I am the only one who thinks it. Overall I do like the set and thank you for adding more powers. But I think there is a fair bit of work left to do on it. Then again that is why we are in BETA!

A couple of things....why do Blasters/Corrs/Defenders get all the new shiny toys? Being a Controller/Dom is rough with no new control set in a LONG time. Also I am curious as to why the Female body is able to get the Metal 2 costume part that the Male has? Can't they be more shiny and chrome? That being said this dos look like an awesome patch. I really can't wait to ROCK out with the new blast set. -
I made a Thugs/TA with a Robin Hood theme. A Thug/Traps that is a more Neighborhood Watch/Community Outreach person. A Rich Girl who bought her own gang and some "Hot Gloves" and is trying to be a social media influencer by stopping crimes (my Thugs/Thermal) I also have a more Anti-Hero with a Thugs/Poison who was experimented/created by the Crey Corp and escaped to be found a local gang who now are trying to take down Crey by any means necessary. There are plenty of possibilities sometimes you do have to think outside the box for them...but they are there.

Sonic is good... on Defenders and Sentinels. Defenders because as stated earlier you get the full -Res (20%) on your attacks, and you could pair it with /Kin, /Storm, /Poison to help amplify the debuffs making you hit harder. On Sentinels it's slightly different. There you can gain almost permanent Opportunity with all the Cones you have at your disposal so you can add a -25% Res to everything. And as well Screech is a really good ST power so you can have both a AOE chain and a ST chain when needed. But I have tried it on blasters and it's just...not good IMO.

o I have been slowly playing this character for over the last little while (mostly play Controllers/MMs) but I am having fun with it and seeing some promise. I believe the Tsoo also use Kinetics as well. I have a Ninja/Kin and Ninja/Storm is far superior in everyway. But you can always use the pool power Force of Will and the Epic power pool Field Mastery to replicate some kinetic like powers. Especially using Wall of Force, Explosive Blast and Energy Torrent. Or you can also go into Fire Mastery and take Bonfire and just recolour it blue or something. Darn..now I want to re-spec my Ninja/Storm. edit for spelling

I'd rather the Devs just give all the pets our "Swift" and "Sprint" power (well maybe not Ninjas they are fast enough). That should be enough to keep up with us on normal maps. -

Yes...These are "Romero Zombies"...they don't run. That is the downside to the Zombie power. They are slow, slow, slow. I have wanted to try a Zombie/Kin just to Speed Boost them to normal walking speed. -
Yes it does. As well as your Flamethrower if you are in range of the Oil Slick as well. Any source of Fire or Energy will set it off be it AOE or ST or another patch. I have a Thugs/TA and my Arsonist sets off OSA all the time with his AOE's (which is why I rolled one up).

Roll a Earth/TA/Earth Put Lockdown Chance to Hold in Fossilize, Volcanic Gases, Ice Arrow and Seismic Smash. Or an Earth/Poison/Earth Same thing for the Earth powers, but also use in Paralytic Poison and Poison Trap. Volcanic Gases is a AOE hold that isn't a one and done. It's a pseudo pet that will pulse a hold every couple of seconds so you can use it to layer extra mags on a target. But once an AV had those purple triangles up...no amount of stacking will keep it held.

Yeah..thats why I am trying a Ninja/EA. With all the Health, Absorb, and End chains it seems in theory they should go together.

Another thing Caltrops does is a fear proc. It causes the mob to try and run out of the patch, albeit slowly. So that also decreases the damage you will face as well.

Ninja/Storm is pure chaos...right next to a Ill/Storm "Controller". Chaos keeps your ninjas alive (they seriously need as much help as you can give them). But you also need it so that things are kept inside your freezing rain, in range of your Lightning storm and your ninjas are not running all over the map and aggroing other mobs. This is why KB/KD is your closest friend. It keeps the enemies on their backs (through Gale, Tornado slotted, freezing rain unslotted) but still near you for the auras. With the recent changes to MM's summon times and endurance costs to summon, you don't need to focus as much on healing. Especially in this build. Your damage mitigation is through Knockdowns and debuffs. Plus you don't have the End to waste, Storm is HUNGRY when it comes to your endurance bar. O2 Boost is more then enough to top up your Jounin and Oni (T1 guys fall too easily). This is the general direction I am going with my Ninja/Storm, while it isn't softcapped at defense, with Hurricane -tohit you don't need it (IMO). I also threw in Whirlwind as another control/fun power incase you need more CHAOS! I am surprised no one has recommended DP/Sonic. I don't do Blasters but this has been really fun to play. Lot of synergy with all the PBAOEs and Auras between both sets.

Yes. That is why Necro/Demon/Thugs are the most popular to use. You can dump all the auras into the lv 18 power (Soul Extraction/Hell on Earth/Gang War) and they'll work even if the power isn't active. With KO blow I just use it for the + Recharge. You can also use Bile Spray to get to Shark Skin. Or go with Mace Mastery for the Scorpion Shield and Power Boost. I went more for a thematic approach.

So this is kind of what I was going for in my Thugs/Poison. Poison Trap you want to lace with a ton of Proc Damage. It becomes a nuke. Also I went with Leviathan mastery for thematic reasons. But Knockout Blow is good, and a place you can put a + Recharge into. I also went with Burnout so I can get double Gang War for really tough fights. And Gang war is where you usually put most of your Def/Res auras. But Thugs/Poison is good you can play around a lot with it and not really gimp yourself.
