  1. Here's a not-quite complete build.
  2. The main problem is that the set is so "Set and forget", that when you DO run into problems (for which you DO have mitigation tools), you forget all about them. It's not THE toughest set for Tankers. But it's mix of Resist, Regen and Defense, as well as Enhancement options makes it tough enough for most things.
  3. Sovera, I'm not saying ignore or neglect Defense, Regen, etc. I'm saying you're better off aiming for capped Resist FIRST. And because Resist sets have NO DDR, simply treat it like you do +Absorb. It's an ablation layer. If you jack around your build, and push for +Def and other things while ignoring maximum improvement in your Resists, yeah, you're going to have major survivability problems. This is the long and short of my point. As such, I'm unsure what other things you're reading into my posts.
  4. Define "easily". Sure, if I want to simply cap S/L or your primary Resist (Fire on Fire, Cold on Ice, etc) Capping ALL resists is a much DIFFERENT prospect. And it takes work. It also makes you FAR more durable in general. Simply slathering Defense (with no DDR) on is basically turning yourself into an eggshell. The second they crack your Defense, they start hitting inferior Resists, and you're smootching linoleum. This is why I recommend that, if you build Defenses, you do it as an AFTERTHOUGHT and treat it as an ablative layer. Meant to be disposable. You, yourself, mentioned the -Def of Cimerorans. You know what happens to a max-Resist Tank when Cims blow off incidental Defense? "Oh NO! My Defense is negative numbers! How shall I EVER surviHMBOOWAHAHAHAHA!!! HIT ME AGAIN! AGAIN! AGAIN! HARDER! YOU CALL THAT HARD! OOH! ALMOST FELT THAT!" Does that mean a Resist tank or a Defense Tank will NEVER go down? Of course not. Some of the other stuff is admirable. One just needs to realize that there ARE tradeoffs. And we were talking about DURABILITY.
  5. Is Taunt "necessary"? No. I just view not taking it as throwing away an auto-hit combat soft-control power. At that point, you may as well play a Brute or Scrapper.
  6. This is why, on Resist armors, care should be taken to max Resists as much as possible, and any Defense should be treated as incidental and disposable. As you have NO DDR.
  7. Sorry, selecting an answer not given as a choice is the same as "I take my tuner projects to a Yugo saleguy."
  8. When you're looking to get your car performance tuned, do you take it to a Yugo repair shop where they've never seen your car? Or do you take it to a custom tuner shop? Yes, it's NICER if the person has a general understanding of the build's goals. But if someone wants to just build a Godlike toon, or an actual God (Tank)? That's THEIR business.
  9. Mids is like Solitaire. For CoH addicts. If someone benefits from the fruits of such play, SO MUCH THE BETTER!
  10. Sorry, I just completely fail to respond to "derivative". ALL literature is derivative. Variations on the same tales, retelling the same things, over and over again in different ways. Also, it missed the point. This is "WHAT IF?". Being derivative is THE POINT!
  11. Congrats to the both of you!
  12. Shield is DEFINITELY a worthwhile tank. And built right, is tough enough to survive anything but super-cheaty kill mechanics.
  13. Shut off XP. Do as many different contact lines. Then level up to the next tier. Shut off XP again and do all the contact lines again. Will take a while. But you get to experience a huge chunk of the content. Pick whatever AT and combo you want.
  14. Speed boost pls!
  15. Okay, as I'm "kinda" a frothing Invuln fanboy, I'd recommend it if you want to be able to build one of the most absolutely bulletproof Tanks possible. Stone will just BARELY beat it on general toughness, but the downsides of Stone are well known at this point. As for Secondary? What sounds fun? Grab a copy of MidsReborn and snag the Tank version of my Invulnerability Framework and play around. Final builds aren't "cheap". But they're tougher than beef jerky plated steel... Also, do NOT try to level up using an end build. This is only for masochists who like being tortured. Level up organically along the general lines of the build. Once you hit your late 30's or early 40's, go ahead and respec with an eye towards your end build. Not that you shouldn't try other armors and power combos. Just remember to play to the general strengths of the armor set (Bumping defense on Defense-centric and hybrid Def/Res). Bumping Resist on primary Resist-based setup. Then beefing the "opposing" values.
  16. You can't put them into orbit. You CAN splatter them against the skybox though... They HATE that kind of action! 😉
  17. Yeah Uun. I remember that fight. It was a slog, but we beat his ass! I remember being confused by the "He's totally invincible!" dialog after that mission. There were two versions of the Reichsman. One invincible, one not. And they picked the wrong one in the mission. He was the version from the final mission.
  18. Alpha: Agility for the +Rech and +EndMod OR Spiritual for the +Rech and +Heal Interface: My Go-To is Diamagnetic Core for the -ToHit. But if you want to deal more damage, just pick one. Judgement: Solo: Ion, otherwise, anything PBAoE. Lore: Pick Destiny: Solo: Ageless, grouped or Leagued:Rebirth Radial. Hybrid: Solo: Assault, grouped: Support
  19. Again, use the DPS calculator. It'll show you things you can drop. Freeing up slots.
  20. Uptime isn't the primary issue for SSDs. It's write-cycles. It's actually quite likely that those drives, small as they were, had quite a few years left as small game accel drives. Granted, old SSDs <<< new SSDs. But still. And you could have dropped them into USB enclosures for (relatively) large fast mobile storage.
  21. Also, one thing to remember looking to trade ST damage vs AoE. This will cause you to do less damage to mobs you NEED to kill. Fighting AVs becomes harder, and you wind up stalemating more. If you're fighting in groups mostly, this is a non-issue, as you just stand there and meat-shield your little heart out. Your allies then proceed with The Kickass. But if you solo, yes, you're wasting output on stuff you're already going to kill anyhow. And when killing something MATTERS, you just can't get the job done.
  22. And here's a badly scanned (ran out of slots) build that's basically going after heavy Resist outside of Meltdown or ROP.
  23. Also, on the damage end. Use the DPS calculator in Mids to figure out your optimal attack chain. Try to optimize toward that attack chain.
  24. It's looking like you're already trying to go after tacking on Defense a bit early. I've learned this lesson with Rad (and Resist-based sets) in general. DO NOT DO THIS. You have no DDR. And you're moving into the level range where Defense debuffs land HEAVY. And if something can reliably crack your Defenses, you're screwed, because you've jacked your build around to push Defense. Better option is to build towards maximum available Resist. Near the end of your build, you can tack on some Defense if you want. Sort of an anti-Alpha Strike setup that you can treat as disposable/ablative. At GenCon right now or I'd take a bit to pull a build together for you.
