  3. They have the both the clockwork and the environmental suit controls chest details stacked on top of each other, too, which Homecoming does not permit. It's most likely a different server...
  4. The only part I couldn't replicate were the gloves. I think they may be NPC parts that they unlocked for players or perhaps a newly created part...

  7. If you're using the Homecoming Launcher, then what you do is click the 3 little dots in the lower right of the "Homecoming" box, select "settings", then type the "-usetexenvcombine" into the box for "extra launch parameters", (see images below):

  10. It's the integrated graphics that are gonna drag things down for you. I suggest trying the following: 1. In the launcher, add the "-usetexenvcombine" command switch. It makes the game use a simpler rendering method, which runs much better on computers with integrated graphics. You should be able to increase the texture quality and lighting to make it look decent, but it's not going to be maxed out or anything. 2. Change the player labels setting to only show player names when you mouse over or target them, instead of always being on - believe me, it makes a difference. 3. Disable shadows or set them to the lowest "on" setting. You can read more about the various program launch options here. Hope that helps!
  11. Welcome back! The blaster secondaries have gotten a lot of love since they were first rolled out. Devices seems very fitting for your concept, but I personally really like the temporal and ninja ones, but go with what you think you'll most enjoy. You get like 1000 character slots per server, so why not try a few out! I can't speak too much on the highest level or hardest content in the game, but everyone can be useful, and if you find a group you enjoy playing with, and you all get along well and watch each other's backs, you'll do just fine!

  13. So I know this thread is a little old at this point, but here's my 2 inf... I don't usually have a big budget to work with, and while I used to build my computers from scratch, (or from individual parts, anyway), nowadays I prefer to work with a pre-built "barebones". To that end, let me suggest a different approach. Get yourself a good barebones like this, then all you need to include is a GPU and HDD or SDD. Besides those components, you'd probably need some adapters like these or these. This approach will be much cheaper than trying to build a full premade system, and will likely have as good or better performance. Regardless of what you go with, best of luck!

  15. IMO, the Sentinel is meant to provide an avenue for people who like to blast, but don't want to live on that knife's edge of survivability. You sacrifice some damage output for that, but it also means you can be a little more reckless. I think you have to look at how a typical/non-min-maxed Sentinel would perform. That being said, I would like to see their inherent adjusted to be more generally useful - perhaps changed to a separate click power that is divorced from your 1st power pick, and which can be used as desired...
  16. Couldn't you do something like create a macro, which has the desired costume name, and both performs a costume change emote and changes you into the desired costume. Sure, it'd get cutoff if the name is long, but it basically serves the same purpose. You can otherwise bring up the costume window pretty easily to see what costume is in which slot...

So I don't know if this would be better suited as a power pool or a full-on powerset, but here goes: Basically, your character would utilize a pair of gauntlets, (really it'd just be whatever gloves you had as part of your costume), to generate a variety of attacks. Basically, think of a Mandalorian's weaponry; You could have shocking punches that can stun, toxic darts, flame jets, cryo sprayers, etc. It'd be a mid-range set that would offer a variety of abilities, without excelling in any one area. I figure the animations are pretty much in the game already, it'd just be a matter of attaching various effects to them. Heck, you could even include a medical dispenser to provide a healing ability, if desired...

  19. One of the biggest issues for me is the "early draw" of a powerset vs its long-term appeal. Some sets mature earlier than others, and that can make getting into that character easier, while others either need certain later powers or slotting in order to truly come into their own. CoH has a fairly good mix of both, but it can definitely be an uphill battle to see come through to completion. I consider myself a patient person, but if I spend most fights either waiting for my powers to come off of cooldown, then I'm going to consider that character a fail, in terms of power performance. A good costume or concept can sometimes help you over that hump, but I frequently find myself looking toward the next idea that may perform more to my liking, instead of sticking with one that is struggling...

  22. I felt much the same way. I watched a few of the initial seasons, but once they started going into time travel and such, (trying to avoid too many spoilers), they lost me. They also frequently fell into the "have all this awesome tech but fail to utilize it properly", category. I would have rather, as you touched on, that they stuck to addressing lower level events that took place between the major theatrical releases...

  24. This right here should, IMHO, should be the main determinant in what you play - if you find a particular power or set fun, then play it! I would still suggest, if this is your main drive, to pick an AT and powersets that compliment or compensate for, those choices...

I agree, but we aren't talking about your typical run of the mill "oopsie" - to do something that would get you kicked off of an MMO requires active intent - you cannot accidentally harass someone, (unless we're getting into some extremely borderline cases where someone construes a comment as being offensive)...
