  1. Also very fun with teleports. Keep one button for travel etc and another where you can just tab target and click and you’re right in the middle of the next mob. Fun to gather up multiple mobs using Jaunt’s 3 charges and long range.
  2. I made an Elec/SS tanker with a PvP build and gutted its IO’s the second I realized my Psy/Rad brute had more resistances.
  3. I just wanna say that having electrical currents run through your brain is, factually, tiring. But then again, perhaps being in the middle of an atomic blast would be too.
  4. We already glimpsed a new earth power so I would assume earth blast or support is the next entirely new set/pool.
  5. By the way, to what extent is it still important such a thing comes from a support AT? Most of my characters have a -res proc, many have like 3-4.
  6. I think MM’s are great at survivability and single target damage, but they are so clunky and unfun for me to play after awhile. To play them correctly you’re always resummoning crappy minions, always fiddling with macro commands, and not doing a whole lot of big flashy powers. Fun against AV’s but just tedious against +4x8 mobs IMO.

  8. I’m getting around to it now. Originally it was just that melee interested me less than ranged, but >15 defenders, 10 blasters, 10 controllers, etc later and that is starting to rapidly change. And then I got addicted to Tankers because they’re so easy to build (much like Blasters). If I had to agree with an AT still needing some more attention, it’d probably be for Sentinels, Masterminds, and Dominators. Though I’d only think they need minor tweaks (except Sentinels, which may need a larger revamp IMO).

Yes, the meta you observe from the forums is dramatically skewed disproportionately towards this habit, perhaps because caring enough to post on a forum is a characteristic more likely to be observed in a powergamer type. The much broader population of players you actually play with is already diverse in their choices.
  10. This. My Trick Arrows especially use these a ton. And you can give the macros any image you want so you can even give Glue Arrow a targeted AoE slow icon. And then I still keep the original powers in the tray too in case I want to set traps (like BAF chokepoints last night) or monitor their recharge. It may seem frustrating to have to do this workaround, but you have to remember there are things you might want to do with location AoE’s that you can’t do with targeted AoE’s, and it’s better to keep that as an option.
  11. Well I’m now pretty firmly in the “Stalkers are really good” camp, but you’re probably ahead of me. They’re one of my least played AT’s at only 3 level 50’s (tied with 3 50 scrappers and only ahead of 2 50 sentinels... edit: wait, 3 masterminds too). That being said, my new Electric/Ice wants for nothing right now.
  12. I like this idea. There’s a massive inequality between the two powers and this could address that without toeing the cottage rule line. Not gonna comment on the exact numbers but like where your head’s at here.

  14. I don’t know exactly what I’m signing up for here as I haven’t read all of the posts in the thread. Were you actually in the OP’s camp of Stalkers being mediocre? Was there a specific concern? Am I about to be held to some standard I don’t ever think about like that pylon mumbo jumbo or do you just want to see a Stalker ripping mobs up. But sure I’ll play my new Stalker some after work.
  15. Plenty of people don’t build for the soft cap meta already. It’s not just me. I’m just against catering to and enabling the vocal subpopulation that does. I don’t have a problem with them insisting on soft-capping every character. I think they’re free to do their Speed/Leaping/Fighting/Leadership routine over and over. I just don’t think the rest of the sets/pools need to redesigned just because their boring mindset leaves their builds looking samey and stale. I’m not trying to change the meta at all in other words. I’m just protesting normalizing the whole game around it.
  16. False implications. You can solo +4x8 with ~15% defense and just a couple of LotG’s. You just can’t do it playing like you’re in a coma.
  17. Only if it can be made a hair shorter like Total Focus was. It still needs to be more than 2 seconds since Ice is already teetering on the edge of overpowered.
  18. If no more than Combat Jumping level defense, it might be fine, yes. I don’t have a super sound balance-specific reason for saying no more 1.75% defense powers or whatever. I do however think that it would further enable a bad player subculture prominent at least on the forum. A lot of players speak as if the game is practically unplayable without a certain level of defense and a certain number of LotG’s. I would rather see buffs like those done to Sorcery - buffs that make powers and pools better without coddling a limiting mindset. IMO we don’t actually create any real build diversity by acting as if players can only be drawn in by the same tired maxed out defense buff/LotG setup. Is it really build diversity when players take different pools - if you had to make all the pools function the same to get there?
  19. You ought to try the Sorcery pool in its entirety now. They very slightly downtuned one power as part of a large overall buff. Sorcery has jumped up several places in the rankings for me.
  20. So you’re open to tankers being unable to cap any resistances like they currently can in PvE often without a T9? Sounds like someone’s never been in a PvP zone. Diminishing returns suck hard. PvP tankers with T9’s on are actually squishier than PvE tankers with T9’s off.

  23. Both Experimentation and Force of Will will be buffed like Sorcery was, it’s just a question of when. They will mimic the recharge/duration of the new Rune of Protection, and presumably all of the other powers will be buffed as was the case with Sorcery. I for one cannot wait and am hoping this is in the next page. I have tons of characters with Sorcery now thanks to the massive buff.

  25. Fair point. Counterpoint ofc is that, specifically with respect to taunt, sets already *have* been extremely consistent with one another outside of Scrapper taunt auras.
