Hardship

Great topic here. I'm not great at costumes and I hoping someone here can help me out. I have a kernel of an character idea that needs to be a "fallen angel" sort of character. She'd be a hero still, so not too villainous. Female, and for this character, the only thing I "know" is that I'd like that "flaming halo" costume item for her. If anyone wants to give a go on a costume, I'd be grateful for some ideas and .costume files.

I wish there were a way to lock in certain parts, and then click random again for the remaining. I think I could probably use random to build most every character if I could lock in head when I liked it, then say, I like that chest and cape, lock it in and then back to RNG for leg options.

I could be remembering wrong, but it seems to me that sometimes the mission owner doesn't get their XP until they call in to their contact. Could that have been the case in this instance?

I think that some MM's used Group Fly to keep their pets from running into melee range. With the changes to the pet "goto / stay" commands, I'm not sure if this is still used. I also don't play MM's, so if anyone who DOES play an MM speaks up otherwise, I withdraw my comment.

I do similar, but sort by descending amount, then I am always selecting the one in the top left corner to put in the AH. Makes it easier for me to pull the salvage from the same place each time to the AH window.

So, there are couple of ways to do it. Sometimes when I'm playing a name will come to me and I'll think "Oh, is that available?" I try to add the name as a friend with "/friend <cool name in question>" If it adds to my server friend list, then the name is taken. If it says they aren't available or something then the name is free. Otherwise, you have to be in the character creator, but at the first screen you can type the name and select the search glass next to it and it will validate if the name if available or not and if so, it will reserve it while you finish creating your character.

I believe that means that it is already taken. That is the message I received when I tried to register an SG name that I knew was taken.

To my knowledge, there is no way to do with with a macro. However, you can make a "Rotating Bind" to rotate between a list of sayings. It isn't random, but it can rotate through several -- enough to break up the monotony of saying the same thing each time. Looks like all you need to do is remove the second "/" in the command. This command worked fine when I tested it: /macro_image "SuperSpeed_Burnout" afk "afk randommessage"

Thanks for the tip. I'm embarrassed to say that I have been copying and pasting my @name each time, but THIS will be much better.

I think that sometimes the AH mixes up recipe sales and enhancement sales. It is just a hunch and I have NO data to support it other than anecdotal from my use. I will occasionally see things the other way as well, I'll be selling a recipe and see that the last 2 sold for 5M, where it normally sells for a 100K or something similar. Of course, that could also be explained by someone inadvertently bidding on a recipe when they thought that they were bidding on the enhancement.

Slightly off topic, but I have SM / Willpower that I'm looking for slotting advice, so I was drawn to this thread (and thanks for sharing your builds!). Is there a list somewhere that shows good "leveling" sets to replace purples in builds with while leveling prior to level 50?

Is there an e-mail limit? How about a character item limit?

My Brute, vet level 16, still gets thread drops in missions.

Does anyone know if the contents of the super pack is determined at time of purchase or at time of opening?

Could it be an OS problem rather than a CoH problem? Did permissions get set to not allow write to wherever you are saving your keybind file to? Is anti-virus software preventing the file from saving?

You can change to any of the 3 character types for the costume slot. I think there is one employee at each shop that can change your body type.

I used to do this a little bit as well, now I just have the right hand column reserved for a rez if needed. I keep an awaken, a break free, and a catch a breath -- I replace each with a bigger version if it drops. I try to use the rest of them often -- especially if running solo.

I love this idea in theory, but the packrat in me just won't let me do for everything. I hold on any purple recipes that I get with the idea that I'll make an alt that will need them.

Nothing wrong with Excelsior, but if you really decide to change to Everlasting, character transfers are free and I think you can do like 5 a week or something like that. The only risk is that your name is taken on the target server and you have to rename your char.

That is almost the exact opposite of my approach. A name will come to me and with it, usually an idea for a rough power type -- maybe fire, or dark or something. Then I'll see if it or a variant of it is available and build my character around that seed. I seldom ever create a character and then try to figure out a name.

Good news. I was seeing that as well. I'm hoping if fixes it for me as well. I'll have to try later today.
