  1. I spent a decade in the Navy, signing for the custody of a few tens of millions of dollars worth of electronics and related equipment and for responsibility over things I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or presence of. I. READ. EVERYTHING. Except EULAs, I only skim those.
  2. General Chat did not, initially, exist on Homecoming. It was added specifically to move garbage and off topic chat off of the Help and LFG channels (and to a lesser extent, Broadcast). Basically, it's *intended* to be a corrosive sewer, one that experienced and/or knowledgeable players can choose to avoid. The problem is, it was added by default to everyone's chat tabs - meaning that every new player is subjected to it.
  3. Make sure it goes into the patch notes so it eventually finds its way into the wiki - we don't want it too well hidden... 🙂 That being said, I'm of two minds on the countdown timers. For my main attack chains (where things recharge in less than 20-30 seconds, often much less) they strike me as somewhat distracting. But for nukes, buffs, rezzes, and various other things where the recharge can be from 30 seconds to over a minute (or even longer)... That's where the recharge timer really shines. But I would hesitate to recommend a hard cutoff wrt to recharge times because that's going to be a very much a YMMV thing.
  4. So, what exactly does this setting do? I've played with it some and can't figure it out.
  5. No, those of us who are sober don't think such things. And we wouldn't claim other people think such things either, as we know better. If it were that easy... (which it isn't) Then there wouldn't be any number of MMO's in the ICU on life support. They'd be enjoying those millions of new players. So, yeah, whatever you're smoking you shouldn't be driving while under its influence.
  6. I agree the noise is a problem, but overalI I'm not sure about sinking the base deeper... Right now it's just shallow enough that a super jumper can use the vertical shafts w/o using Double Jump. Any deeper and only flyers and 'porters will be able to travel unassisted up to the surface.
  7. Spotted this costume out in the wild - and with some changes, it'll perfect for one of my toons... So, I figured I'd ask the experts here: How to duplicate this costume?
  8. Well, at least you rescued something... I should post the pic I took over the weekend. Edit: Except you're against a dark background so you hardly stand out.
  9. Patch notes still mention the P2W vendor (vice S.T.A.R.T.) in two places... No time like the present to start using the new terminology.
  10. Certainly. But there's a point where you have sufficient minions that you stop being a Mastermind and start being the commander of a army.... And that point is scaled both by raw numbers as well as by the intelligence, independence, etc... of your pets. Otherwise, Lord Recluse would be a mastermind as well. But really, yeah. As someone said upthread, you can't really map CoH archetypes onto comic book characters.
  11. You add a period (".") or plus sign ("+") to your email address and follow it with additional characters. [email protected], and [email protected] will both be directed to your [email protected] inbox.
  12. It may be possible, but it's not really desirable to add further visual spam to the game. It's already bad enough with auras, and people's buffs affecting crowds, etc... etc...
  13. That means that particular claim cannot be brought back before the court. It does not forestall future claims of infringement. It does not in any way protect CoH/Homecoming from Marvel filing suit for infringement.
  14. That's... not how it works. While "commercial use"* is one of the factors to be evaluated in determining Fair Use, not being commercial is not a Get Out Of Jail Free card. *It's actually way more complicated than that.
  15. Not everyone wants to change their toon's alignment, I know I don't.
  16. Dangit, you know you've got me earwormed now, right?
  17. I kite them, slowly sliding in until Stoney aggros and initiates combat, then quickly backing off. (Sometimes first firing a ST hold/immob, sometimes an AOE hold/immob.) Do it right, and generally at worst I take the Alpha from a minion. It's an art, not a science. True, because the meta on HC is "throw inf at the problem until it's not a problem any more". (Usually a self inflicted problem because they insist on running headlong into things at +4/x8.) The meta is very emphatically not the only way to do things.
  18. Confirmed that a hero can earn Party Animal. Kinda wish it had cooler art than just the bog standard low level exploration badge.
  19. For reference, my build isn't optimized for anything in particular and it's largely SO based. Soloing my earth/rad, I almost never take the full alpha, and the vast majority of the time I do - it's because of a screwup on my part. (Usually going in too fast and not paying attention to who is in range.) I only take significant damage maybe once out of every ten to twenty encounters before Stoney pulls 'em off of me. I do not agree with the proposition that a 'troller needs a specialized defensive build.
  20. If you don't speak for everyone, then why have you been consistently attempting to lay down policy and generally throwing your weight around? The "rhetorical nonsense" is a direct response to you acting like you're running the place. That being said, I'd kinda prefer the material be on the wiki because that's way more accessible than a Google Doc. I do not have a heartache with heading the page with a link to the Google Doc specifying that it's source for the most up-to-date information.
  21. "The Informant" would definitely be useful for one of my Vigilantes...
  22. I'd try dropping by the Unofficial Homecoming Wiki club.
