I am sure this is unpopular, but I miss the city life
Lost Ninja replied to arkieboy72472's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Only if it's earn it once per account. Or spend to Inf to skip that. This one makes no sense in your overall demand because even though my main Crafter bought one of these I nearly always do all my crafting in my base (just as I did on Live when I never managed to acquire one). Only if you can buy/earn an alternative. I actually do go to physical AHs because on alts that I haven't gotten round to inviting into my SG it's an easy place to find a merit vendor. And in Atlas at least I often find people in the physical building. TBH Without rebuilding (ala Faultline) and then forcing people to level through content (eg no AE/TF/etc) this won't happen. Even on Live Hazard zones (at least in the EU where I played) weren't exactly well populated. But this wouldn't have the end result you appear to be looking for, there is already plenty of people who use Ourobous both as an easy travel power and to use the place for it's intended function. All this change would actually do is prevent people earning it easily. It would directly penalise people playing the game normally. Because to make it work you'd have to remove the Echo Portals, and prevent people using portals placed by other people (eg at the end of a Mission to get to the next zone... which especially blue side is quite common). Considering there are currently no respec people blue side Jack Wolfe is MIA (not look in CoV/Praetoria). And if you're doing a respec you have zero interaction with those around you because the respec screen covers your whole view. How would this make the city any more alive? "Force people to play the way I want because my way is the best way!" If you enjoy playing it that way go for it, don't advocate for others to be forced to play that way too. -
Try: /bind F5 "attach_cycle"

Personal Issue with AE and the slower slog of normal content.
Lost Ninja replied to eldriyth's topic in General Discussion
In HC you earn Incarnate XP and threads in all content (I think you need to be doing a minimum of +0/x1). So this is untrue, you earn threads/XP doing Posi 1 or through Orobous arcs and everything else. A level 50 has more content than any other level because you get to choose anything the other levels have plus stuff you can only do at 50. Just saying. Because I want more end game content too, though I think I'd prefer a Quality Control pass through all pre-i20 content to bring it up to today's standards. -
I always (try to) post slash commands with the underscores so that people who aren't familiar with them can see the separate words easier, personally I always leave off the underscores and where possible use the occasional short version of the command. In my own binds/macros the only time I use underscores is in power names, so that when you run into a command that tarkes multiple arguments it doesn't think Hot and Feet are separate arguments... 😄

Hmm a bit of transgender content... I like the way you think... 😉 -
Probably something like: /bind <key> "target_custom_near mypet oil_slick$$powexec_name tazer" You'd have to check both the name for the Oil Slick (which is a proto-pet IIRC) and Tazer, and you might have to hit the button twice (see my previous post), once to target and once to fire.

Try /build_save_file <filename> Doesn't seem to like absolute paths and at least for me it was placed in <coh_root>\<acount_name>\Builds as a text file. edit: However for me I just get an error on load (Blame Sai!). I have the current release.

I slot the 5 enhancements from the P2W at around lvl4/6. I then manage on those (plus the buffs also from the P2W) to hit lvl22 when I fully slot with common level 25 IOs (plus -knockback if the character needs one and I have something lying around). I then respec/reslot with level 35 IO at 32. And from that point on I look for uniques & procs for the build as I level it. At 47/50 I do another respec and fully slot with level 50 commons and any sets (@ 50) that I have already found. If it's a character I enjoy playing I will hunt down a full build of sets minus any ATO or Purples. I try to flesh the build out as much as I can without such things. I'd have to know that the character is going to both need them and be played a huge amount to invest what is needed. My accounts are not poor, and with /AH farming and my near complete AE farmer I don't have any real worries about Inf, but I like building alts so just spending inf on something isn't something I enjoy... I wish ATOs were available through normal content (as drops) as opposed to farming to buy loot boxes.

Love that idea... Buses in Paragon Trains in the tunnels that have tracks (Praetorian Underground), make them a hazard that will kill you if you're in their way. Moving ships/ship bridges/etc in the various aquatic zones. (The big cargo ships not the smaller sailboats.) But given an unlimited budget I think a complete engine, graphics, UI, Powers... etc overhaul would be more useful than adding things that I don't think are even QoL. -

I dearly hope they never add an instant 50 to P2W (or anywhere else) without some kind of hard to get method for unlocking. (Like one of each AT at 50 with no AE badges on any.) Because: A)I'd totally use it and just like using cheats in offline games it would spoil some of the fun (online I don't cheat or feel the need to, offline I cannot seem to help myself... especially memory editors and speed hacks), and B)An awful lot of the people who don't AE would just grab a "legit" fast 50 and already somewhat empty zones would be even emptier. Yes many would stick levelling out and play the game the way it was designed to be played but adding Instant 50s would make the issues that AE farms already cause even worse. -
Recipe storage in SG bases

Colour coded names "Individual Name Colors" (unless you mean something else) has been in quite a long time, I used it back on live. -
Two choices: Old style: /bind ctrl+lbutton "powexecname teleport" Can use any click location power, like Tar Patch, Bonfire, Fire Imps, etc. On live I had ctrl+mbutton bound to pet_com_all goto, don't have a MM on HC yet but I'll probably do something similar if I make one. ((I'm guessing this is what you wanted to do.)) New Style: /macro TP "powexec_location 0:max spring_attack". Powexec_location was added in, I think, i25 so post Live and once again works with click location powers like Tar Patch et al, syntax is: /powexec_location <target> <power> target can be: me / self / target up, down, left, right, forwards, backwards or a numeric value by degrees 0-360 and if used with a colon can be given a range, so up:20 will target 20' above your head. You can also use :Max which will place the click at the max range. I personally use the powexec_location for summoning pets both Fire Imps and Lore pets, placing Bonfire and have used it for Spring Attack (0:0 does it on the spot). And I use the ctrl+click with teleport or Translocation (from sorcery).

Yes. Switch. Do Black Scorpion (Easiest of the Patrons) or Mako if you want the story. To unlock all Patron Pools. Then switch back, you retain access.

Influence/Infamy/Information Badges

And there is already a badge for AE tickets. As in you buy a badge with tickets. -
Prefer @Redlynne's solution. Personally on reading the OP I was just going to say no. I hate these kind of events (especially the invasion one) as it messes with normal play. Leave a mission go afk and get killed by Zombies, or waiting for the rest of the team to arrive and not be able to get to the door without zombies arriving. I'd prefer the invasion one be shorter, and the whole event shorter, especially ToT. Perhaps run it more often or add an "Echo" zone so people can grab it out of season. A week/10 days either side of Oct 31st would IMO be better. And I mean that in general for all "seasonal" holidays. Yeah I doubt that'd be popular but I guess we each get something different from the game.

Additions & Changes to Slash Commands
Lost Ninja replied to Lost Ninja's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Some slightly clearer examples: /send_email "$greply" "Stuff" "{0.5*$inf}" "" "n/t" Would send an email to the last person to /tell me using their global name, email would be called "Stuff" and include half my Inf, no other attachments and only "n/t" in the body. Could be useful for sending stuff from alts to your main/mule/banker/sales person/etc. /activate_random "cc_emote 0 ccSalute" "cc_emote 0 ccHowl" "cc_emote 0 ccLightning" Changes to Costume number 1 picking a random (from those given) costume change emote. /bind <key> "lfg I am a Level $level$levelshiftplus, $1st/$2nd{/$3rd} $archetype. I'd like to find a team doing Missions or TFs in my level range or higher (min 35). I'm currently a $side but am willing to visit Null to change..." For a Fire/Kin/Mind @ level 50 with t3 Alpha it would look something like: Pyroclastic Flower: I am a Level 50+, Fire Control/Kinetics/Psionic Mastery Controller. I'd like to find a team doing Missions or TFs in my level range or higher (min 35). I'm currently a Hero but am willing to visit Null to change... ((Note she's not, she's a fire/rad...)) Some of the $strings that I have asked for in the OP may seem like they are (totally are) there for bragging rights, but I could see them appealing to people. For reasons other than epeen inflating. -
I like slash commands, and I use them a lot both in binds and as macros... these are just a few of the changes I have been thinking about since... well some of these I suggested on live too... so for a while. Additional Slash Commands /powexec_slot_t_on (/powexec_slot_toggle_on <slot>) /powexec_slot_t_off (/powexec_slot_toggle_off <slot>) You currently need to know the name of the power you're toggling on/off. This causes two issues, 1)in very long macros power names take up valuable space, 2)You canot make a generic /macro to turn on all the powers in a specific tray (I use tray 4 for my toggles), I want to be able to just /bind <key> "powexec_slot_t_on 40$$powexec_slot_t_on 41$$powexec_slot_t_on 42$$..." etc). It wouldn't make the actual commands any easier to access than the current commands, but would allow me to have the bind for all my characters and not need to adjust power names for each character (I have a lot of alts). /powexec_switch <power 1> <power 2> Each activation switches the two powers, can be used with mutually exclusive powers like fly/hover, in that case reduces size of macro. Switch resets on zoning logoff/logon. /activate_random <string> <string> ... etc (/ar) /activate_sequential <string> <string> ... etc (/as) /activate_random_file <filename> (/arf) /activate_sequential_file <filename> (/asf) Picks one <string> which can be any interpretable string eg command, text, emote... and either uses it randomly, or sequentially. If used with a file it will treat each line in the file as a separate command/chat line/emote/etc. Activate_Sequential command used without options will reset all AS/ASF to 0 (they start from the first <string> line (in file). Inviting people: /sg_invite_global - Allows inviting Global friends to SG eg "/sg_invite_global @Lost Ninja", only works with global friends, returns normal error messages if the player is already in SG (/sginvg <global name>) (Must be already a Global Friend to curtail abuse). /team_invite_global - Invite player to team via global name. (A command like this is listed in various slash command pages, but I have been unable to make it work/verify it works in HC). (/ginvg <global name>) /league_invite_global - Invite player to league via global name. (/lginvg <global name>) Email: /send_email <recipient> <title> <inf> <name of recipe/enhancement/salvage/insp/etc> <body...> A working email slash command currently doesn't work to send Inf and unreliable otherwise. Changes: /macro_image "<image>" "<tooltip>" "<command>" Add an icon to the list of icons that functions as a placeholder for the power referenced in <command> (if one exists). Change <tooltip> so that if it is input as "?" it passes the tooltip of whichever power it is being used with (or blank is the command isn't a power). If the /macro is being used to activate several powers the Icon/Tooltip should change. Would function similarly to how the basic macro does in WoW (or did last I played), you place a question mark icon in the macro, you get whichever icon should be used with that "Spell", if the active spell changed due to some internal logic, or because that spell was on cooldown the icon would change to reflect that. Also allow /powexec_auto, sniper, etc rings to show on macro_image Icons. And an in-game Macro_image maker with a searchable/browsable image list would be nice too... 😉 /powexec_location <target> <power> Either make the target function like normal targeting does when clicking through somebody (automatic target of target (ToT)) for enemies. Or add an additional ToT to the list of possibilities. Add "cursor" to targets, so the same macro can be used to place at mouse cursor (without clicking). Using the "cursor" target option should also allow targeting within the 2D UI, so allowing healing/buffing types to place heals on team mates without directly targeting them. (Might need a separate command fore this though.) Allow trickle down targeting (unsure how this would work within the game but if I am targeting an ally place it at their target, if their target is out of range place at them, if I have an enemy target place on that target, if I don't have a target and I have "me"/"0:<range>" in the above target field target place at my feet). eg /powexec_location tot, target,me,cursor bonfire And if that can be added made to work change all the targeting slash commands to work in the same way. MM Pet attack commands should also be made to work through who you're targeting, currently pets think that if their master clicks on a friendly target the master is telling them to attack the friend. Make it so the pet targets the ally's target. Normal macros work this way, only powexec_location and the various pet_com commands are different (could mean an engine limitation, but if not please change). /assist Change /assist to automatically revert your target back to whoever you assisted when you used it after your target either dies, changes state (Mob to Friendly NPC) or you manually deselect it. Not totally useful if they fix MM pet_com to target through an ally be it could be useful. Replaceable text additions: Currently replaceable text includes $name (character name), $level (character level), $archetype (character Achetype), $side (Hero or Villain) and a few more. And can be used in chat/text to make automatic changes to text. eg /bind <key> "lfg Level $level, $archetype LFG mission/trials/TFs (no DFB) ($sideSide)" is one I use a lot on my low level characters for instance my recent Dominator would say in LFG "Level 14, Dominator LFG mission/trials/TFs (no DFB) (BlueSide)". You can also use $name in AE mission texts to give an illusion that the contact giver knows your name. I'd like to add some extra types of replaceable text to make more impressive binds/macros. $global - Returns the character's Global name eg: @Lost Ninja (useful if you have more than one account, less useful otherwise). $primary / $1st - Primary power set eg: Broadsword $secondary / $2nd - Secondary power set eg: Mental Assault $tertiary / $3rd – Epic/Patron Power Pool eg: Moo Mastery $reply - Last person to message you. $greply - Global name of last person to message you IF they are a global friend/in SG/etc. Both these would help with inviting people to teams, leagues based on their messages. $levelshift - Incarnate level shift amount. (Numerical) $levelshiftplus - Spits out "+" signs for each positive level shift. $levelvet - How many levels past 50 are you. $prestige - How much prestige you have earned within your current SG (only if the return prestige to us ofc). So taking my previous bind as an example I could now change it to /bind <key> "lfg Level $level, $1st/$2nd $archetype LFG mission/trials/TFs (no DFB) ($sideSide)" so "Level 14, (Mind Control/Mental Assault) Dominator LFG mission/trials/TFs (no DFB) (BlueSide)" Allow using all the replaceable strings (existing and any suggested) in paths, filenames etc. So /bind_load_file $name.txt would load a file with that character's name eg: If my brute Voracity used /bind_load_file $name.txt The game would attempt to load a file called Voracity.txt Additionally where a replaceable text string is numerical eg $level or $inf (I wish, see below) enclosing the entire string in brackets (curly) would allow numerical operations to be performed eg: {$level+$levelvet} would spit out your level + veteran level as a single number. {0.5*$inf} would spit out half your Inf $level$levelshiftplus would if you have three level shifts and are in an incarnate trial would return "50+++" Lastly have $strings within "{}" curly brackets (parenthesis?) only show if they both/all are positive. For instance {$level+$levelvet} will always be more than 1, so it will always display. However if you had {/$3rd} but have yet to pick an epic pool the whole /$3rd wouldn't print/display. Apologies for the wall of text-ness of this I've been making a flat text list of additions/changes since I returned to CoH and this is the result, I have no idea if any of this is even possible, it's simply stuff I'd like to see/use in game. There are some more things I'd like to see but I really cannot come up with a good reason why other people would use them so I missed them off the above. Basically an autoexec_file option somewhere to load files into a character, and some extra named strings (predefined), so $str1, $str2, etc that I could store variables in. Also $inf would be handy for bragging in chat or sending all my inf to my main via the working /send_email. Totally don't expect anyone else to want/need those though... just dreaming. 😄

Check you didn't already have it. The fact you got merits means you earned the reward, if you didn't earn the badge then you already have it or it's a bug.

Go to a character where the keymap works and do /bind_save_file <filename>.txt (doesn't really matter what you call it just something you can remember). Go to a character that is having issues and reverse the process with /bind_load_file <filename>.txt That might fix your issue, failing that you can try doing the above but before reloading the saved file go into options and load the default binds (not load saved, it's the red button). Then reload the saves you made on the working character. And failing that you could try /bind <key that isn't working correctly> "nop", best to do all the keys you're having issues with at once, but that can be hard. Then rebind in the normal manner (I use /bind <key> <command>, but it should work through the options window too. Had the exact issue you have and I found the 2nd option fixed it. I think it's down to the game having gained some new commands in the last patch which prevent it from loading saved bind files up correctly (I could be wrong). When you get it all working again you can preserve changes going forward for new characters by doing "/bind_save". This will save a new default binding.txt to your installation which will load automatically into new characters (you can still revert back to the program defaults as mentioned above with the red button), this just makes future characters inherit current key binds.
-
I agree to be honest, but I haven't found a good way to automate loading character specific binds. Ideally I want $name to work in file names so I could just have a generic /bindloadfile $name.txt and it would always load that characters specific binds. I'd always prefer to make commands/macros as generic as possible, so they work with as many characters as possible.

Darkest Night Improvements Suggestion
Lost Ninja replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Don't really understand why it's needed. You already get one pet with -tohit, why do you need another? Also it's not the only toggle debuff if Dark gets this why shouldn't Rad which as it has two toggle debuffs arguably would be better off with a pet than manually having to toggle up every mob. Only change I personally wouldn't mind seeing is being able to cast on an ally (including pets) which then debuffs the enemies (like the sonic debuff toggle), again though this should be for all toggle debuffs of this sort. (Maybe lower values when cast on an ally). -
I do that for things like PBAoE damage auras, but I have Walk bound to Alt+numpad7 on all characters and it turns everything off on all characters I don't need to rewrite my Toggle On Macro as a Toggle Off Macro on each character. (There are a couple of the other "temp" travel powers that knock off all powers but walk is free.)

DEPRECATED Mini-Guide: How to Autofill your Login Name and Password
Lost Ninja replied to Robotech_Master's topic in Guides
I just wish the file was saved in the Account Folder, as opposed to the root. No use for multi-boxing as is. 😞
