  1. Just the opposite, recently. More purples than PvP recipes over the past few weeks. To be fair, I'm talking about a small sampling since I don't farm much and have not farmed in months.
  2. Well, if you're not interested in farming or badging, why would you need more than one? Personally, I have three and I had three back on live. But I think the majority of players simply have no use for multiple accounts. And when I say I had three accounts on live, at one point I had (ahem) seven. πŸ˜›
  3. This may be a dumb question, but I have seen it happen. Do you perhaps have one or more salvage racks in another part of the base that you've forgotten about?
  4. For convenience, note that you don't actually have to go to the market. Just type /ah in the chat window and it opens the Auction House window wherever you are - EXCEPT in an instanced map (basically missions and bases). Do you enjoy running task forces? As a matter of habit, I get the Task Force Commander accolade on every character and run those task forces when they are the 'weekly target' so I get double merits. That's 424 merits right there, which are worth quite a chunk of change. You can run the first task force (Positron part 1) as low as level 8. I personally don't care for the low level content, so I run Death From Below on each character until level 10 or 11. Each run gets you (I think) five SO's of the correct origin for your character. The SO's from earlier runs will be trash by the time you're done, but the ones you get at level 9, 10, 11 will be useful for a bit of time. Don't slot any of them until you're done running Death From Below. Sell all of them except the high level ones that are actually useful to you. Once you get to level 22, as several people have mentioned, slot level 25 common IO's and use those right up until you hit 50. There will always be plenty of mid level IO's on the market because people like me are crafting them to get badges. If possible, don't switch between a bunch of alts. Pick one (or make a new one) that you like to be your 'main' and take that one to high level. That's the easy way to get money by 'playing normally' - just pick one you enjoy and get them to high level. Oh, and don't forget to pick up the five free enhancements (for every character) from the Pay 2 Win vendor. They're actually decent and useful until you're 20+ level.
  5. Half right. The Steadfast wasn't that much, but he PvP uniques absolutely went for that kind of money. I wasn't interested in doing an off-market deal so I just put in a bid for 2 billion and it took about two weeks to fill. Your post demonstrates 100% lack of knowledge of how the market works. The market is cross-server and always has been. Liberty, Freedom, Infinity and all the other servers accessed the exact same marketplace.
  6. There are six 'Mentoring' badges for sidekicking another hero for various amounts of time. Only the team leader gets credit toward those. The blue badges are: Advisor, Guide, Paragon, Role Model, Epitome, Paradigm. The red badges are: Comrade, Drill Instructor, Svengali, Role Model, Epitome, Paradigm.
  7. You have it backwards. It's to the farmers' ADVANTAGE to have their own channel. Back on live there was a player-made global channel for marketeering - not because we got pushed out of the other channels, but because we WANTED our own place to discuss the subject. And it was a public channel, so anyone with an interest could join.
  8. On most characters, I don't bother getting all tier 4 because it just doesn't seem like enough of an upgrade from tier 3. In fact, I have only two characters that are all T4. I have a beam rifle/kinetics corruptor who is vet 16 and has been all tier 4 for at least 2-3 vet levels. He was created specifically for Really Hard Way badge runs of the Magisterium. And I have Ironblade who has ten tier 4 and four tier 3 powers. I think he has had all of those since about vet level 90 or 95.
  9. Or, if you're a lunatic, you could have an Excel spreadsheet where you track every TF that you run, list every character and what level they are, how many reward merits they have, list the powers and tiers of every incarnate, etc, etc. πŸ™‚
  10. This. Put in your search terms and add site:homecomingservers.com and it will restrict the search to this web site.
  11. I basically do this in reverse. CoH was the first MMO I played and I played for almost 7 years before going to another MMO. Now, I remap keys and invert the mouse in every other MMO I play. Not enough bars. I also open up AT LEAST a fourth and fifth bar for toggles, incarnate powers and temporary powers. To be fair, I run a lot of toggles. The majority of my characters take the Leadership pool - even tanks and scrapper.
  12. Only the final one is tedious like that since you have to wait for them to spawn and the timer determines how long it takes. On the one with the pumpkin guys charging the portal, you can go out and hunt them. Once you get a feel for the timing, you kill a charging group and then go out and kill stationary ones, then come back for the next group headed to the portal - assuming you don't spot them as they start running and kill them right there.
  13. Rest allows certain types of enhancements but does not allow any enhancement SETS. So you can slot a regular heal enhancement (SO, common IO, etc) but not any piece that is part of a set. Rest gives +1900% regeneration. The cap for scrappers and stalkers is +3000%. Does this matter in normal game play? I would say no. Does it matter when you're farming damage taken for badges? Absolutely.
  14. Sure, but how many of those are something like 'Dark Lord Darkness'? (FYI, I actually had a character with that name.)
  15. Unless I'm mistaken, he was suggesting it work like this and not saying that it currently does. (It does not currently work like this.)
  16. If you find it enjoyable or interesting, it doesn't feel like work. This is similar to the (illegal) stock market tactic of 'painting the tape' - colluding with others (or an alt account) to give a false impression of the status of the market. Back on live, I engaged in every method of generating inf that I could think of or heard about from others - manipulating the AH, AFK farming PvP recipes, flipping, etc. It was a hobby. Not a lot of straight-up farming, because I found that boring. Nowadays, I don't play as much so I don't bother working for inf. As long as I have a few hundred million at any given time, what's the point? Back on live, generating inf was part of the game for me. Like badging.
  17. Sure, NOW. I remember when the requirement was 100 times what it is now. I ran overnight gladiator heal farms for more than a year to help people get the badge. I ended up getting the Longbow Warden 2 on a second character and rotating him through other people's supergroups. I got the healing badges for about 40 different SG's. But I'm only a casual player. πŸ™‚
  18. Wait, what? A video game was released later than originally announced and there needs to be a 'story' behind the delay?
  19. It depends on your needs. I have three, just like I did back on live. To be fair, though, the third account was FTP while the first two were subscription accounts even after the game went FTP.
  20. What if the Well of the Furies had been contaminated and both Marcus Cole and Stefan Richter died after drinking from it?
  21. And that's just the first step. I am currently leveling Toggle Man, whose job is to run as many toggles as possible (in actual combat - not just standing around). He's a spines/dark armor scrapper because that's what the original post from back on live required. A lot of the requirements are no longer accurate, but I am taking the powers indicated in that marvelous piece of prose. I am TRYING to have him be viable without the Alpha slot to help with endurance. He's got +51% recovery, extra END, 10% global end reduction, the Panacea, Numina and Miracle procs and Performance Shifter proc. He doesn't have Conserve Power yet.
  22. I have never PUG'ed with Snarky. 😞 Probably because we're on different servers. πŸ˜› (Although I do have a single 50 on your server.)
  23. This is accurate for damage, accuracy, endurance reduction, etc. These are 'Schedule A Enhancements'. But 'Schedule B Enhancements', like defense, damage resistance, to hit buff, etc scale to a lower number. You hit the ED limits around 55%. Schedule C and D enhancements (interrupt reduction, knockback, etc) scale to a HIGHER number. You don't see much drop-off until after 100% or 150% (for C and D respectively).
  24. Never going to happen. When the first person in a zone opens the AH, it loads the entire auction house database. Anyone else in the same zone accesses the same data. So you can never have more instances than the existing zones. If you could access the AH from a base, this would be super popular for crafting and there could be hundreds more separate instances loaded. Getting around this would require rewriting the entire AH system.
  25. I would like the ability to close opened windows by hitting 'Escape'. Every modern game has this capability.
