Dump it (except for the rare). My base has like four salvage racks. One is empty and is used for transferring stuff between characters. One is full of Halloween salvage. Then there's one for common and one for uncommon. The main purpose of the common is for using the buff stations. The uncommon rack is for the stuff you ALWAYS need, like Carnival of Shadows Mask and Living Tattoo - they show up in all kinds of important recipes. So I just normally dump most of the common and uncommon at the vendors. When I need it to craft, I buy it then. It's dirt cheap compared to everything else. The rares I always keep or, if I have multiples of something, sell on the auction house since they're decent cash. As for recipes, I only craft what I am absolutely certain I will use - stuff like Luck of the Gambler +recharge, Performance Shifter proc, etc. Oh, and purples. I always craft and store purples. I can convert them later to the purple I need. Finally, since my badger has the crafting badges and can craft common IO's cheaper, I keep a supply of level 50 IO's in the base - but just the important ones (recharge, end reduction, end mod). Generally not stuff like accuracy or damage since my characters get that from set IO's - which each character buys and crafts for themselves.

Yeah, we're usually busy and miss it. Yesterday we noticed the initial announcement so we put in $100 to make up for the missed months.

Firstly, someone did a bit of a necro here, but I'll reply to the original post. ehh...... You don't really need any of those things. You need a character to be your FAVORITE. Back on live, one of the top badgers on Infinity was a mind/emp controller. He sent me a tell one day that it was really hard doing some of the Ouro flashbacks with the challenge settings and asked if I wanted to duo them with him. My badger is a broadsword/regen scrapper. So we duoed most of those badges. There are ALWAYS other badgers around with whatever power you don't have, who would love to work with someone to get the badges. Having said that, any AT/build that can solo fast is a top choice. Because there are over 1500 badges and you WILL be soloing a lot because you're going to be doing less popular content, grinding arcs, farming enemies, etc. And, one additional thing that makes some badges easier - make a second account. If you MUST have some particular power or AT, PL a character on the second account. This gives you a lot of versatility. It lets me work on some badges when hardly anyone else is online.

Trying to decide my next melee character?
Ironblade replied to JnEricsonx's topic in General Discussion
Both are fun sets. I took MA to 50 on a scrapper and SJ to 50 on a tank. I've only ever taken one stalker to 50 because they always lose something to get Hide. Without having some idea of your play style and what you enjoy, it's hard to make a recommendation. Although I guess scrappers, stalkers and brutes are really quite similar. -
I don't recall there ever being a way to skip the login. Not in this game or any other MMO I've played.

Not seeing an issue here. Unless I miscounted, you end up with 24 powers, so you can have ALL of the primary AND all of the secondary, with six left over for pool powers. You can clearly take every secondary power without gimping your 'primary function'. And, since most sets have one or more skippable powers, you have even more leeway.

On a related note, if you're going for the 'assist' badges (i.e. do a weekly strike target again AFTER receiving the bonus for running it that week), this is absolutely the best way to get it. When I was working on the final badge (50 assists), there were a couple other people also working on that badge and we could easily recruit additional people who just wanted to run once for the bonus. i.e. We could easily recruit people whose Team Teleport had not been used already. With multiple invisible people, we wanted to see how far under 2 minutes we could get the completion time. Our best run was 1:26 (86 seconds).

Since the Banished Pantheon supposedly have the highest DPS, I have those on my badger (a scrapper) and my corruptor built specifically for Really Hard Way runs. Since my scrapper does more damage than any pet, he also has the Seers with the untouchable one that casts Fortitude for when he's soloing. My dual pistols/devices blaster has the Robotic Drones since they look just like his Targeting Drone. My tanks will often take the Polar Lights for the AoE since they'll typically have enemies grouped around them. Other characters will generally take whatever looks cool or fits their background.

The hint text on the badge for defeating Warhulks says: "Seek and destroy the engines of war that Nemesis uses to give second life to his fallen soldiers." So Nemesis troops who are too badly wounded apparently end up in Warhulks.

Everything seems to cost too much influence
Ironblade replied to Diantane's topic in General Discussion
I was aware. Also, I'm not a farmer. And you are definitely playing forum police. So, what was the point of your post? 🙂 -
Agreed on the IO sets, but you don't need such high defense. I went cheap on my build and have 90% fire resist, only around 12% defense, but about +250% regen. I can farm at 0x8.

1) But farmers simultaneously increase the amount of goods, which leaders to LOWER prices. Which factor wins out - higher or lower prices? I don't know. HOWEVER, since we have not seen prices trending steadily higher, I would conclude that either: a) Your premise is wrong. or b) The effect is so small, or the number of farmers is so small, that any price increase is drowned out by other factors and is therefore irrelevant. 2) So what? I don't dispute that farmers gain more rewards than most other players. So do task force speed runners. Again, so what? -
trade Combat Jumping for Teleport Target?
Ironblade replied to cohRock's topic in General Discussion
And my normal situation is exactly the opposite. Out of 21 characters, only 3 of them DON'T have Teleport Target. I'll occasionally take Combat Jumping on all-melee characters, but Teleport Target is pretty much required for me. -

And yet, the system actually works quite well. The economy is robust and the market is active. Players can equip their characters for lower costs than back on live. The consensus in this thread seems to be that the game economy is fine. The devs have said that they are happy with the overall state of the game economy and just want to address some edge cases like AFK farming. They have also made it clear that they are fine with active farming and currently have zero plans to change the rewards. Your position is an outlying opinion. -
How do I tell if a toon has completed the WST?
Ironblade replied to Bricktop72's topic in General Discussion
Damn right. That trial is why I have a stalker on my second account with Karsis unlocked. -
Just the opposite, recently. More purples than PvP recipes over the past few weeks. To be fair, I'm talking about a small sampling since I don't farm much and have not farmed in months.
-
Well, if you're not interested in farming or badging, why would you need more than one? Personally, I have three and I had three back on live. But I think the majority of players simply have no use for multiple accounts. And when I say I had three accounts on live, at one point I had (ahem) seven. 😛

Does salvage disappear after so long offline?
Ironblade replied to Diantane's topic in General Discussion
This may be a dumb question, but I have seen it happen. Do you perhaps have one or more salvage racks in another part of the base that you've forgotten about? -

For convenience, note that you don't actually have to go to the market. Just type /ah in the chat window and it opens the Auction House window wherever you are - EXCEPT in an instanced map (basically missions and bases). Do you enjoy running task forces? As a matter of habit, I get the Task Force Commander accolade on every character and run those task forces when they are the 'weekly target' so I get double merits. That's 424 merits right there, which are worth quite a chunk of change. You can run the first task force (Positron part 1) as low as level 8. I personally don't care for the low level content, so I run Death From Below on each character until level 10 or 11. Each run gets you (I think) five SO's of the correct origin for your character. The SO's from earlier runs will be trash by the time you're done, but the ones you get at level 9, 10, 11 will be useful for a bit of time. Don't slot any of them until you're done running Death From Below. Sell all of them except the high level ones that are actually useful to you. Once you get to level 22, as several people have mentioned, slot level 25 common IO's and use those right up until you hit 50. There will always be plenty of mid level IO's on the market because people like me are crafting them to get badges. If possible, don't switch between a bunch of alts. Pick one (or make a new one) that you like to be your 'main' and take that one to high level. That's the easy way to get money by 'playing normally' - just pick one you enjoy and get them to high level. Oh, and don't forget to pick up the five free enhancements (for every character) from the Pay 2 Win vendor. They're actually decent and useful until you're 20+ level. -
Half right. The Steadfast wasn't that much, but he PvP uniques absolutely went for that kind of money. I wasn't interested in doing an off-market deal so I just put in a bid for 2 billion and it took about two weeks to fill. Your post demonstrates 100% lack of knowledge of how the market works. The market is cross-server and always has been. Liberty, Freedom, Infinity and all the other servers accessed the exact same marketplace.

There are six 'Mentoring' badges for sidekicking another hero for various amounts of time. Only the team leader gets credit toward those. The blue badges are: Advisor, Guide, Paragon, Role Model, Epitome, Paradigm. The red badges are: Comrade, Drill Instructor, Svengali, Role Model, Epitome, Paradigm.

You have it backwards. It's to the farmers' ADVANTAGE to have their own channel. Back on live there was a player-made global channel for marketeering - not because we got pushed out of the other channels, but because we WANTED our own place to discuss the subject. And it was a public channel, so anyone with an interest could join.
