  1. Yes, BUT - if they're posting useful information then others can benefit from it. It doesn't matter if the troll is having fun or not.
  2. No, they don't. Most will stay and clear the ROOM that they're in, but they don't clear the map unless it has been previously announced as a 'clear all'.
  3. Their official name is 'Empowerment Stations.' Wiki page here: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Empowerment_Station You can get stealth, resistances, KNB resist, increased recharge, etc, etc.
  4. Unslotters? Feh! I start slotting IO sets in the low 30's and add higher level ones to the additional slots and powers I gain as I level. I don't unslot or remove anything. By about level 40, I will have bought and crafted every IO that the character will need. Any power that is going to have a purple set just gets SO's until I hit level 50.
  5. Well, I just checked one character to get some actual data. I have a level 45 who still has 15 SO's in his build and it said it would be 795K to upgrade. If he had no IO's, he would be upgrading 83 SO's so that would cost 4.4M inf. I normally upgrade SO's every 3rd or 4th level (i.e. waiting until they turn white or yellow). His are all still green. If I was using SO's to 50, then I'd have two upgrades on the way to 50 so that would cost about 10M. Figure about 12-14 upgrades on the way to 45 with the lower ones costing far less. I'd estimate a total cost in the range of 35-40M inf assuming you upgrade at the rate I do; every 3-4 levels. And yes, there would be a huge cost difference upgrading every level. Each time you upgrade, you're buying a new set of +3 enhancements. Doing that every level would cost you approximately double compared to upgrade every other level. I would estimate upgrading every level would cost about 140-150M inf. HUGE waste of money, considering I have fully IO'd some characters for less than that.
  6. With decent integration of the various elements. I did a mission with my brother where we flew to the mission site in his ship, engaging fighters en route with me in the turret, then we exited the ship and entered a complex and engaged the enemies with assault rifles and grenades. Plenty of aspects are still 'clunky', but I've played worse games that were 'officially released'.
  7. I seem to recall that seasonal defeat badges don't have progress bars so you don't have to stare at it all year if you don't get it during the event.
  8. It's going slow this month. Still open. Which has a good aspect - I was able to donate today. It often closes before I realize it's donation day.
  9. Paragon City Search And Rescue used to do Easter Egg hunts. We would each dress up in a mono-color (or gradient) costume with a round helmet and hide throughout a zone. The first hunter to walk up to you and talk to you found that egg. We would then following them back to the gathering point for screenshots and handing out prizes. Obviously, though, this requires a group of people.
  10. Maybe he doesn't like Willem DaFoe. 😛
  11. Possible? Yes. But, rather than 'gauche', I would characterize it as 'stealing'. To clarify, if we're talking about something like making Arachnos costume parts available to players, sure, any server can do that regardless of what anyone else does because that's working with in-game assets that Paragon put there. But if one server develops a new powerset, any other server that copies it without EXPLICIT PERMISSION would be flat-out stealing their ideas and that would be sleazy.
  12. Firstly, what do you mean by "6 defense IOs"? If you mean six IOs that boost defense, then you probably don't want that. If you mean six IOs from one or more 'defense sets', then that could be fine. Could. Powers come in categories that determine how much they can be enhanced before hitting 'diminishing returns'. The main power effects (damage, accuracy, recharge, end reduction, end modification, healing) start to suffer diminishing returns around 80-85% enhancement and it gets worse as you approach 100% buff. Unless you're trying for perma-Hasten or something very specific, you don't want to bother trying for more than about 90% enhancement. The slots are better spent elsewhere. Defense and resistance are in a different category. They suffer diminishing returns starting around 50% enhancement. I usually aim for about 55% enhancement on these powers. There are other categories that I won't go into since they're oddball items (knockback increase, interrupt reduction).
  13. It was 10 weeks ago and coming around again 3 weeks from now. I compiled all the WST info into an Excel spreadsheet that automatically checks the date to tell me what's the current one. (Go ahead. Yell 'Nerd!")
  14. I have a dual pistols / devices. He's tech origin, vet level 12 and fully incarnate. The two sets seemed made for each other and I was excited about planting mines. The mines did not disappoint. 🙂
  15. Tell us again how you're not going to quote any sources or provide any evidence. We missed it the first three times. Ever hear the saying, "Assertions made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence."? At this point, you should probably just go quietly. None of you are looking good in this argument.
  16. I would point out that a good team is even better with the Leadership toggles. And I disagree on the second point. I think a lot of teams that would benefit suffer from being underpowered or too low level for something. I see no reason to think that a team that could benefit is more likely to be scattered than any other team. Especially with all the complaint threads we've been seeing about high-powered characters joining a team and then soloing content.
  17. The vendor in Pocket D will talk (and sell) to you while you're on a task force or trial. I have someone soloing Synapse currently and just logged in to confirm this.
  18. Your entire argument is invalid in this particular context. If we "assume everyone is a casual", then they aren't going to be summoning the optional monster for a badge. This isn't bad game design at all, because the potential "slog" is ENTIRELY OPTIONAL. And if someone is determined to summon, and defeat, the monster for the badge - why, they must be one of those non-casual players and they should know about the envenomed daggers.
  19. Look on the bright side. If you don't already have all the badges for influence earned, damage taken and damage dealt - you're simultaneously working on those.
  20. Yeah, sometimes you can find an Alpha power that's a no-brainer. Ironblade is broadsword/regen. His Alpha is Spiritual, which gives +healing and +recharge. The recharge helps BS, since it's the slowest recharge set. And both effects boost several of the regen powers. All his self heals are over 125% buff on both heal and recharge and that's NOT counting set bonuses for either (he has a bunch of +HP and over 50% global recharge).
  21. And anyone can buy Envenomed Daggers from the vendor. One person spamming those makes a real difference on low level content when people don't have their 'good powers' yet.
  22. Not really. I did this recently and spread it out over a couple weeks. It gets tedious since the stories are all so similar.
  23. They're dirt cheap. I bought them all on one character so I could see them up close.
  24. Ironblade

    Womp Womp

Weird. The wiki says it's a villain mission and you said you're a rogue. I soloed it as a rogue, set to team size of six, and got about 45 of them. My only guess would be that there is some specific condition that triggers them and you somehow bypassed it? I haven't run this recently, so hopefully someone who has run it lately will check in with further observations.
