  1. I've taken Nature to 50 twice (controller and defender). I consider Lifegiving Spores skippable (or something to take at lvl 49). While many skip Rebirth, keep in mind that it's not just a rez, it's also a heal/endurance buff that can be used on living allies. I really like Entangling Aura (since it doesn't take accuracy I frankenslot with 3x Hold/EndRed), but it does require you be in melee. On Fire I would skip Flares and possibly Fire Breath.
  2. Back on live I had an Ice/TA controller. It could control multiple spawns at once, but it couldn't solo worth a damn. I also had a Traps/AR defender, which actually worked pretty well.
  3. Presumably you're going into the Sorcery pool to get Rune of Protection. Would recommend Mystic Flight and Arcane Bolt as the prerequisites.
  4. You could make Jack virtually indestructible though. Now if you could only buff his AI.

  6. The toggle has a range. If you run far enough from the the caster, the toggle will drop.
  7. You've got way too many attacks. Drop Air Superiority, Kick and Thunder Kick. You don't need more than Storm, CAK, AB, Cobra and Crane, and once you have more recharge you could get by with only four of those. Also, drop Cloak of Fear. It has a huge accuracy penalty, high endurance cost and only works on minions.
  8. I've got four level 50 corruptors - Rad/Dark, Fire/Time, Arch/TA and Ice/Kin. They're all beasts, but I really like Ice/Kin. Fulcrum Shift + Blizzard never gets old. Rain powers benefit from Scourge and Kinetics is better on a corruptor because of the higher damage cap.
  9. Also, Wormhole doesn't require line of sight with the target and can be used around corners.

  11. If you go radial for the 75% DoT, there are 3 that do higher damage than the others - Reactive (fire), Preemptive (ene) and Spectral (neg).

    I had a Sonic defender back on live when it first came out (I5). Since then, Sonic has largely been overshadowed by Thermal, which brings more to the table. Sonic does have a few abilities that Thermal doesn't (Dispersion and Disruption), but two of the powers are useless (Cage and Repulsion) and the T9 is meh. It's not a bad set, but it falls pretty far down the list of defenders sought after by teams (there's really no reason to solo Sonic as a defender). If you're looking to maximize -res, Sonic Attack or Beam Rifle would be good combos.
  13. Entangling Arrow is 20% -res (ST). Doesn't need more than the base slot, but I wouldn't skip it.
  14. You don't mention what AT. Proc damage is the same regardless of AT, so you get more bang for your buck on ATs with low damage modifiers (defenders, brutes). On ATs with high damage modifiers (scrappers, blasters), you generally want to max out damage enhancements. I generally don't slot more than 1 proc per power on blasters/scrappers, but I'll slot 3-4 per power on defenders or brutes.
  15. Only scrappers and stalkers have access to the snipes, and they're only in 3 of their 8 EPP sets. Agree that most of the EPP ST blasts are decidedly meh. Don't think that increasing the ST blast damage to snipe level is warranted, but since most of these powers are pulled from blaster primaries, I think damage should be increased from scale 1.0 to scale 1.64 to match the T2 blaster powers they come from (with recharge adjusted accordingly). Would like to see this happen to tank/brute, scrapper/stalker and controller EPPs.

  17. I'm at work and don't have access to Mid's, but here are a few comments: If you're not going to slot Ice Bolt, skip it entirely. You're not required to take the T1 from your primary. I happen to like taking it since it's one of three powers that you can use when mezzed. Slot Time Wall for damage, not immobilize (or don't slot it at all) Don't skip Freeze Ray. One of the best powers in the set. Take it as soon as it's available and 6-slot it. Slot Blizzard for damage, not slow Skip Time Shift if you're not going to slot it. It has an accuracy penalty and a short base duration. Consider skipping Bitter Freeze Ray. It hits hard but the DPA isn't good. Slot Hibernate for recharge, not heal Why aren't you slotting the ATO sets? I think they offer better set bonuses than the purple sets.
  18. There are 3 sets that have 4 AoE powers (excluding narrow cones and small AoEs). Water: 3x ranged AoE, 1x cone Radiation: 2x PBAoE, 1x ranged AoE, 1x cone Assault Rifle: 3x cone, 1x ranged AoE
  19. I have one base for all my characters on Excelsior. It has 4 teleporters covering 10 zones each. I put all the Rogue Isles (7) and non-coop Praetoria destinations (3) on one teleporter.

Assuming you have Proton Volley slotted with Sting of the Manticore, my recommendation would be to 6-slot Defender's Bastion in Irradiate and to split Vigilant Assault with 3 pieces in Cosmic Burst and 3 pieces in either Neutron Bomb or Electron Haze. (Splitting Vigilant Assault allows you to double up on the 10% recharge bonus for 3 pieces.)

  22. I've been playing Dark Miasma/Rad Blast for ages. I had a lvl 50 defender on live going back to 2005/06 and remade it as a corruptor on HC right after launch. Still one of my favorites.
  23. You don't even have to pay for the jet pack. Take the TUNNEL from Atlas/Mercy to FBZ and log out for a day or two. Free Traveler's Jet Pack.
  24. I have a Cold/Beam defender that has performed really well in 801 and relentless Aeon. Agree that Nature is also very good. Haven't played Electric.
  25. If I understand this correctly, you could take Tough without taking Boxing/Kick or take Aid Self without taking Aid Other/Injection. Seems like more power creep.
