  1. Short answer: it depends on the power the pet uses. A given proc will only work if the power the pet uses will take the proc. it won't apply willy nilly to all powers the pet uses.
  2. Agreed, and I'm a big fan of your sig as well! The rest of this is just me typing some thoughts in general, not aimed at Bill or anyone else. "Don't hurt anyone else in the process." Does PLing hurt anyone else? - Well, it probably increases the demand for goods in the AH, which I'm for. Not hurting anyone. - It probably increases the amount of inf in the system, which I'm against. Not CLEARLY hurting anyone. - It probably makes it harder to find people who want to do exactly what I want to do exactly when I want to do it because there are more choices. Not hurting anyone and if you feel this is hurting you, you need to take a hard look at why you are so special. - It probably makes people who play in flashback think the game is easier than it really is. Doing a mission arc at lvl 30 regular v an Ouro arc means the Ouro arc is being done with your lvl 32 and lvl 35 power unlocks, as well as all the slots. Not hurting anyone, but subsequently lobbying to make the game easier because it's not as easy the first time through is certainly hurting others. - It "increases the number of people who don't know how to play their characters the way I want them to play their characters." I think if you have to knowledge to get a PL to 50 and can't contribute to a team, the problem is not that you are 50 and didn't deserve it, but rather that you may just not be a very good player, or just not a very good player as I pigeonholed you to be. Bart, Cart, Dart, Eart, nope, don't see a problem.

  4. This set, which I adore by the way, has exactly one meh power. It does one thing (debuff) and it does it extremely well. It's not flashy (with one or two exceptions), so if you are the type of kid who says, "Mom. Mom. Mom mom mom. Look at me, Mom. MOM!" then this set may not be for you. T1: Entangling Arrow. Meh. I have to agree that a single target immobilize power with no damage is underwhelming. Consider it the price of admission. Skippable on defenders, but mandatory on other classes. If you put a band-aid arrow to my head and forced me, I would probably admit that you could improve an already great set by either making this an AoE immobilize or adding a small damage component so that it can be procced up. T2: Flash Arrow. Do you like defense? Did you realize that defense and -to hit are essentially the same thing? Start every encounter with this NON-AGGRO move to make the lives of you and your teammates easier (unless you put in damage procs, which will trigger aggro.) You can FA and then snipe, which as far as I'm concerned is free money. I generally 4-slot it with Cloud Accuracy, and I feel the -to hit levels are more than sufficient. If you want to floor -to hit, play a Dark defender. T3: Glue Arrow. Caltrops with much greater range. Great power. It's like using your long arms to put your hand on a child's head as he windmills his fists trying to hit you but can't because his arms are too short. Also a small -regen debuff. I'll 1- or 2-slot it, since there's not much proc potential in Slows. T4: Ice Arrow. Proccer's Paradise. Put as many slots in it as you can afford. I 6-slot it. T5: Poison Gas Arrow. Sleep? SLEEP?!? Why that's useless, and furthermore, hey, wait a second, why aren't they hitting me as hard? Oh is that the -damage buff kicking in? 1 slot is enough. T6: Acid Arrow. Oh, sweet, sweet Acid Arrow. I wish I could 10-slot you. T7: Disruption Arrow. -res that stacks with Acid Arrow and everything else. I don't love the graphics, but generally this is the way you are going to realize that you have a TA on your team. 1- or 2- slots for recharge is sufficient. T8: Oil Slick Arrow. This is a ridiculous power. All the floppy goodness of Sleet or Freezing Rain. All the fun damage of, well, some good damaging power. I can't understand the naysayers who can't light it because they refuse to get an energy damage power from the P2W. I've barely scratched the surface on how to slot this thing. T9: EMP Arrow. I have to admit I have yet to take this power. I'm not a big fan of crashing T9s, but there are two things that strike me for when I eventually respec into something that can solo TFs: AoE hold procs, and -1000% regen for AVs. Admittedly, that kind of -regen every 5 minutes or less isn't SUPER helpful, but it's certainly helpful. Great set. I'd call it an almost perfect set since it covers so much, and yet isn't incredibly slot hungry. You can do great with a number of great powers with only the base slot. Happy hunting!
  5. This is the worst set ever. It's like Regen and Assault Rifle had a baby, then left it on the steps of an orphanage where it was raised by Ninja masterminds and Energy Melee stalkers. A short non-comprehensive list: 1. No heals. Can you imagine an archer, either from the comics or history, who DIDN'T have a band-aid arrow, either to shoot their comrade with or even just to jam into their own thigh? Ridiculous. And don't tell me to go into the power pools -- you have got no right to tell me how to play. And I don't like the sound of Heal Other, but that's a complaint for another time. 2. Lack of a damage aura. How do you expect me to hold aggro? Seriously. Replace Entangling Arrow with Chilling Embrace. Bam! 3. Not enough proc-able powers, especially knockback. You know how hard it is to slot this puppy for high recharge? Permadom is *literally* impossible.

  7. Favorite defender from Project Misfit Toys? I need to get them all higher on their way to 50 (all 36-43 right now) to get more slots for their powers, but my Trick Arrow/Electrical Blast/Soul is my “current” favorite. I have a good theme for her, and I figure that three procced out single target holds will be a lot of her damage output at the end of the day. She’s a ridiculous amount of fun; I’m really loving TA. Least favorite is easily Sonic Resonance/Assault Rifle. There is a reason no one has ever taken one of these to 50. Two crummy sets that do almost nothing to complement each other, although there are a few bright spots. Favorite proc? Again, I must promote Overwhelming Force. If you don’t use this, somewhere, anywhere, you are lacking a sense of humor. There’s more flopping than at an Italian soccer match. I *believe* that since this has a set chance to proc, you get good mileage even putting it in powers that would not traditionally work well with profs.
  8. I'd say the lion's share of boosters come from merits and hero packs, with drops being a distant third. For merits, a booster = 5 merits = 15 converters. 15 converters = 1.05mm pretax @ 70k per converter. The problem is that if converters are at 60k a pop (and I've definitely been buying loads there or lower), then the breakeven is only 900k pretax. So @iBotseems to be spot on. For hero packs, there seem to have been a lot of people buying them, and you can see the downward pressure that it has put on ATO and Winter-O prices. I'd guess that there has also been a big supply of catalysts, boosters, unslotters, and converters hitting the market which would put downward pressure on those prices as well.
  9. I haven't examined the full build, but I would drop the Scirocco proc I think. You'd have to ask one of the proc experts if that would increase or decrease your DPS, but I've found that the +rech triggers like mad. Happy hunting!
  10. Proc-wise, they have a chance to trigger on cast and then every 10 seconds. So combined with a mass immobilize or hold, it works a lot better. That said, they are also superb for getting things out of your face pretty much instantly when there is no mass control. They'rrrrrrrrrrre great both ways!

  13. Is the problem that the Hami-O you want is too expensive for you to buy, or is the problem that the Hami-O you get is too cheap for you to sell? I think that if you are able to do Hami raids (and presumably several a week if not a night), you probably have the ability to generate enough inf to buy whatever you need. I wouldn't protest if they made Hami-Os convertible, but it seems like an extreme case of a first-world problem.
  14. I respectfully disagree for two reasons: 1. There are so many ways to store influence now. You can send yourself emails for 999,999,999 each that don't seem to expire and I have not yet found the upper limit as to how many emails you can have in storage. You can bid up to 2bn on a presumably infinite number of items that are listed in the AH but don't actually exist. Heck, you can make 5,000 characters per global and store 2bn on each of them for a total of 10 trillion. 2. (And this is the important one) There really is no point in having more than 2bn per character in Homecoming. 2bn will buy you top end builds for all three of the layouts for any level 50. The only point in having more inf than that is to hoard it, give it away, play stupid market tricks, or build more alts. There is simply nothing to spend it on. I would be incredibly supportive and thankful if the devs were to institute some major inf sink, but the only statement about that I can recall is that they are far more likely to institute small sinks that will affect more people than large sinks that will only affect a small number of people even if the aggregate amount removed from the system is larger in the latter case. I expect stupid market tricks will become more frequent as people get bored. If so, hopefully they will not negatively impact the entry level hero or villain.
  15. I've been following this thread for a year. A recent project had me digging deeply into some profoundly unpopular builds, and many of them were defenders. A few things I've learned on the trip re: procs and defenders: 1. Generally, the secondary has one or two powers that really shine with procs, but a lot that don't. For Assault Rifle, for example, Flamethrower becomes a beast pretty early on. 2. Some procs just need to be in every power they'll fit. Force Feedback +rech, Annihilation -res, and especially the Overwhelming Force proc. That last one just transforms "meh" powers into something that is frequently hysterically amusing.

  17. I generally use attuned IOs ( even for procs—it’s an aesthetic choice) until lvl 50. Then I use catalysts on my ATOs and Winter Os. But then, when I think of it, I replace some of my other attuned IOs with unattuned so I can boost them. If we could use catalysts to unattune as well as attune, that would be marginally more convenient than using an unslotter, selling the attuned, and buying an unattuned. just a thought. It might be too niche a case to bother.
  18. I believe that any mission that used to require simultaneous clicks has been changed so that you can now solo it. But they have not changed the mission text.
  19. When you open super packs, the items go into your Character Items tab and are accessible by any character under your global name. If you open up a bunch of packs and leave the dual and team inspirations there, you can access them at any time.
  20. I totally hear you, but I think some of the restrictions are serving as governors on marketing, which I think is a good thing. Keeping it slightly annoying or difficult helps keep individuals from really scaling it up and massively manipulating the market. I don’t think that was ever the intention of the devs, but it’s probably a good thing, IMO.
  21. Howdy pal! 1. Set up a separate chat tab just for LFG, then periodically check it. The default tabs usually have a lot of other stuff that clutters it up. Look for anything advertised in your level range. People always like adding support. Your jackpot will be people advertising for a free slot on PI mission teams or AE farms for any level. Those move quickly. 2. If you do start something on your own, throw out a notification in the LFG channel. People love to join things, all kinds of things. If you want to start a TF, don’t wait for someone else, start it yourself. Worst case is you only get one or two takers in which case you can just run missions for a bit. You are always better starting something yourself, even if it is random contact missions, than waiting for something specific.
  22. In general, it is more efficient to sell your merits (often in the form of converters as @Carnifaxdescribes above) than to spend them directly on recipes or IOs. Also, it *may* be cheaper to buy recipes and craft them yourself, but it’s much more convenient to just buy the IO directly, especially if you want it in attuned form. Specific recipes are usually the bottleneck in the supply chain.
  23. I believe that those are real numbers. In my experience, the display errors only apply to the last 5 prices and not the number for sale or bidding. I have no doubt that a single person could clear out their base storage and dump, for example, 2k 7.5% LotG on the market in an afternoon. And I believe that’s exactly what happened. It’s also easy to buy up all supply in a specific segment, but I’ll bet that anyone who has tried that has found that it’s hard to make inf doing it. Thanks to fungibility, converters, bucketing, etc., you can’t keep IO supply from entering the market.
  24. Great job! I’ve streamlined my own personal version blueside at double xp (or +1/x3 which seems to work out about the same.) A few things/tips: It’s Doc Delilah whose arc gives you Entrusted With the Secret so you don’t need Agent G. She opens up at lvl 20. I like to do most of the Montague arc in the early/mid teens since the Cure Lost power makes some of the Faultline missions much easier. Do NOT use that power on the group that is guarding Mr. Yin, since it doesn’t count as defeating them. Presumably the same holds for Muxley but I’ve never tried it. Using the new contact finder as a teleport is a great way to shave time pre travel power. You get bonus merits for completing all missions in Hollows,etc., so even if you don’t run an entire zone arc at once, make sure you go back eventually and run the remainder through Ouro. EDIT: 35 is kind of a magic level, and a whole lot of things unlock. At 35 I first join Vanguard, which will give you access to Vanguard merits every time you defeat Rikti, even in non Vanguard missions. This takes just a few minutes. Next I check back in with Montague and travel to Cimerora and run the basic missions there. If you unlock the dude who gives you repeatable timed missions, you can teleport there quickly for an ITF by phoning him and starting a mission, use mission teleport to get to the zone,then joining the ITF and letting the timer expire. Finally, I usually unlock the patron epics if I feel there is any chance I will use them.
