LOTG is making me stupid amounts of money right now. On average I'm making almost a half bn inf a week. This market is so much easier than live it isn't even fair. I have so much inf now I've had to start pulling it into my email lol. -

The problem with Elec/SD is that it has average ST damage. Dark/Shield has pretty poor AoE damage even with Fire. Dark/Fire is a good combo but it's going to be pretty weak against harder targets like EBs/AVs. Fire/Shield would do less damage than Dark/Fire while being significantly more resilient and have better AoE than Dark/Shield. War Mace/Shield is tragically underplayed, it has some good damage mitigation with knock down and does some really good single target and aoe damage. Bio Armor is another option, I haven't played it much but it seems like it is extremely durable and adds a lot of damage multiplier though probably a little less than shield. Titan Weapons by far does the most amount of ST damage, I don't know about AoE, but it also is horrible for endurance consumption until later in the game. I'd say go for either War Mace or Fire Melee with Shield or Bio or just make whatever combo sounds cool and enjoy playing the game lol. -
And you get -to hit in dark than -end in zapp which mobs have basically unlimited endurance.

WM/Bio is strong but not as pretty as Energy. It is really difficult to pick a bad combo as a scrapper.

I started playing in beta and it was rough. I couldn't figure out how to play the game until around Issue 3 lol. I had a triple ice blaster that was so crappy and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out I was slotting for every aspect of a power rather than acc/dmg. I distinctly remember someone telling me I was a terrible blaster. CoH definitely sucked back then lol.

I am not a huge fan of shadow maul, it has really low dpa, but for added AoE it isn't bad. I just wish the devs would have put another PBAoE power in DM.

This is personal preference but I would slot the Steadfast Def IO earlier on in your build so if you exemplar you're not going to lose its defense. I would also use the slots in OWtS elsewhere as I don't use it that often but ymmv.

Dark/Shield is my absolute hands down favorite. I didn't choose the click life, the click life chose me. -
I want to try the winter packs.

I already have a shield character and electric's single target performance is worse than dark's AoE.

DM/Shield isn't what I'd consider an AoE powerhouse. It does average AoE damage with ridiculous ST damage. I have a Spines/Dark Brute for my AoE damage character. Correct, with fully saturated SD and AAO I can regularly single shot +2 minions with MG and sometimes SL.
