Not sure how successful depending on folks who're too lazy to check prices on crafted vs recipes yet also somehow have giant piles of inf will be as an ongoing strategy, but you do you.

Mid's Reborn: Hero Designer
Mr. Vee replied to Metalios's topic in Mids' Reborn Hero Designer's Forum
try minimizing your coh window -
I just ran it and got 10,265,405. Number i had written down for old version was 10,249,401. Prolly some variation mish to mish but not what you're seeing. Do you have patrol exp?
-
Now recommend Shauna Braun's vigilante arc for marcone kills. Last mish if you have the spawns turned up enough you get half of them just doing what the mission requires. Of course there's no wedding band at the end of the arc but there's also no annoying kill alls with roamers in the arc like Peebles.

If I had to guess it's that player costumes have particle effects like auras, etc. that Brigg wouldn't have included on the original costumes designed for a farm. Maybe lower your graphics settings?
-
That trial sucked anyway and i wouldn't say it was challenging. Unless remembering which cat was herded where is a challenge.
-
Ran it again with the graphics turned up. Definitely improves the ground patch stuff. It did nothing to improve the bits that I find more annoying, but helped on that. Only died twice - one the patch warning started just as i hit the button for blackstar (i blame the falling sky, but the satellite also seems to be in on it) and the second I rubberbanded into one just as BM died, which seemed just spiteful since I don't remember having rubberbanded at any point in the last month or so.

That's like voting against smart phones because you used to have a rotary home phone. Pointless wait is pointless. I doubt it's trivial to fix but if it were why would you be against it?

Accuracy at lower levels is painful
Mr. Vee replied to ShardWarrior's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Go buy 8 hours of offensive amplifier for 1k/hour on a level 1. Shouldn't be too pricey on level 10 either. -
I'm with you, but idk how hard it'd be to fix. But if it's not hard why stop at the tram. Basically any door that makes you wait because someone else just clicked it should be on the hit list as well. The boat doors on itf and the sub door on stf are particularly egregious just from sheer repetition. And then of course the entrances that you don't know where to click, and the slow to load after you click ones like the helicopters and ok i hate entrances in this game 😄

aaaaaaand they just uncoupled superior and regular winter in the AH, which in light of our just talking about that here i take as a personal slight.

i'm aware, thanks. used to use the command on live. my graphics being all the way down now is prophylactic really. i've not tried them higher, just was used to them being low from back in the day trying not to overheat a laptop. i really don't care about graphics in general and prior to reading here that there's a clear signal i'm missing i'd not had a problem other than the chantry being a big grey blob. next time i run apex i'll turn them up to see if it's better. but note i'm not in favor of making it easier, i just find it annoying. and really i'm more annoyed by the scattered mobs than the death patches.

Are there any underrated money makers for converter crafting?
Mr. Vee replied to Gravitus's topic in The Market
So I accidentally happened across a pretty good to ridiculous niche, depending on how buy it nao the buyers get at a particular time - 1mil and change + 2-10 converters -> 4.5 - 8 mil (i've seen as high as 10). I don't actually even market much now as I have taken to afk farming to add to my ridiculous piles of money and I give away probably 20 times what I spend on my own toons. So should I: a) mention the niche here, killing the niche but making the IOs in question more affordable to everyone 2) just tell a couple of friends who're just starting out marketing or iii) keep it to myself, cackle madly as the money comes in and just have that much more of a pile to give to friends and those poor helpchan souls? leaning toward iii, cuz i do love myself a good cackle. -
I soloed it (took almost an hour for me, though) so i can't really say it's hard. It's more just annoying with artificial challenge. It's just as annoying to me on ranged as on melee, though (i've never felt so useless on a kin as i did running this earlier - fulcrum shift hitting like 2 or 3 things ftl). It punishes anything with long animations. Melee it's annoying to have to chase the stupid swords. Ranged it's annoying that you're getting whacked to death by the swords while you're trying to dodge the patches and kill the av. But overall my problem with it really is just the enemies who refuse to bunch up at all in a game that's otherwise so aoe focused. As far as the big warning flashing for seconds before the blue flames - is that hyperbole or am i missing something? Possibly the latter b/c i have my graphics turned all the way down? My experience soloing was that there was some slight blue sparkling that came before the sword dropped so i could get out of the way before the death patch. Teamed I have no shot, too many other graphic effects happening. I find that the best way to tell the patch is coming while teamed is that my hp just dropped 75% or more. I was surprised as it's obviously imitating a widely used MMO mechanic, but in other games you have ample warning to get out of the way - so much so that "don't stand in stupid" is a common trope. Here it's almost as if the patch is just there to tell you where you shouldn't have been standing a couple seconds before the patch appeared. If it is a graphics issue then I suppose I should just skip this tf since I'm too lazy to adjust every time and like having multiple instances going, but I've run this quite a few times now and seen plenty of otherwise very good players having similar issues, some of whom I know to be playing with ultra mode cranked.

Re-posting my .txt with the following addendum - figured out with some finagling how to minimize travel on invader if the toon with the contact isn't in need of the badges: The Invader locations seem to be more or less static so recommended procedure assuming a bot toon is at the contact: 1) IP with the toon getting invader entering PO using the east ferry. 2) Bot Assembles for Atlas and KR near the contact. (Sometimes need to abandon KR a couple times to get it here.) 3) Sky, Steel and FF are usually at the same location or can be abandoned to be. The location will either be the same as Atlas/KR or at the southwest corner. Take whichever comes first for sky. If SW corner bot uses his Team Transporter. Recommend actually completing Sky and Steel if toons aren't below level range to get the rez and team tp. 4) After sky abandon if necessary to get Steel and Founders to the door team is at. 5) Bricks - near the SW location. Travel normally if that's where team is. If still at contact now's the time for bot to use Team Transporter. Everyone should leave this mish via base macro or base teleporter. 6) Peregrine and Talos will both be in a location near the SG base porter exit. Accolade_Guide_Forums_Revised.txt

Sounds like it needs to be Bloody Rainbow Hall Monitor Convention

Re full exemplared inf - make sure you have some patrol exp. idk why since it doesn't spend it, but yeah.
-
That's a whole thing for the pylon people to answer. The way I understand it you look at dps until you have an uninterrupted chain at which point you look at dpa, but it's out of my depth really.
-
Great guide! One thing though - superior and regular winter are bucketed as well so ATO are the only things worth using catalysts on.

AAO doesn't taunt on stalker and it only messes up hide in a roundabout way - i.e. enemies will notice you because of it. so you'll still have your hide status and can crit from it but enemies will attack and if they hit your hide will be broken. Basically this only comes up in situations where you telenuke in - you're attacking which activates AAO but pseudo pet doesn't break hide. Assuming you're defense capped you should be able to get off your crit, just as one normally does when the chance to hide ATO proc goes off while enemies are attacking. RE sr pairing - dark melee's a good choice for the heal. Katana's a fine set (er, ninja blade, rather) but divine avalanche would pretty much be a leveling only power on an SR.
-
If you look at damage/animation - i.e. arcana time, GFS is 3rd highest behind incinerate and very slightly, cremate. Scorch is below regular fire sword as well.

I have a stj/ice and an elec/shield. does that count? stj/ice/shield are all great on stalker - with /shield be sure to take grant cover - lots of folks skip it but it gives you defense debuff resist. with both /ice and /shield take ageless radial if possible for more DDR. /sr you'll be capped on DDR anyways. with enough recharge stj is fine on aoe at 50 with just spinning strike. you may want sweeping cross to fill out an exemped chain or to mule something and it's a fine power. i'd imagine a built up shield charge plus a couple applications should clear the soft targets and stragglers. i'd throw an achilles proc in shin breaker if you can, but you'll be golden single target no matter what.
