  1. I'm glad to see this finally mentioned. I would never send in low HP pets to just be some alpha soaking sacrifice. I'll take alphas all day long on any MM but to just discard my means of BG for skittish teammates? Nope.
  2. No way would I put Beasts as the worst powerset in game, I don't even put them in the bottom tier of MM primaries. They do have nuances, flyers can be problematic for example, but seeing that they come out on top of DPS tests is no surprise to me. TA on the other hand...
  3. Like the others, 6 Coercives for Synaptic, but I used 5 Fortunata Hypnosis for the purple bonuses in Static Field. Were I to readdress this build, I'd probably rethink that slotting to give me more slots to play with. I have no plans to readdress the build though. Put all the damage procs you can in Jolting Chain, then slot other helpful procs in it. Elec is light damage so it's going to be well served by good proc slotting.
  4. Re: the bolded, Thugs/Cold will be GREAT. Not good, not pretty good, great. With Fog + Shields + your Maneuvers + Enforcer Maneuvers your minions will be soft-capped early on. The ride with Cold tends to be safe and slow for a long time, then Sleet, then Heat Loss. At that point, it's game on. My caveat is that I personally haven't paired Thugs with Cold, but I do have many hours in-game with each seperately (including 2 fully incarnated /Cold MMs (Bots and Demons)). If I made a Thugs, I'd do as the suggestion upthread says to find a place for Aid Other. Or be a pro at insp combine and use on pet macros.
  5. ROBERT ALDERMAN DID NOTHING WRONG! Release Robert Alderman and vote for him for mayor. Only Alderman has rightly pointed out the boondoggle that is Terra Volta and only he has the vision to bring Paragon a power plant that makes economic sense.
  6. The patrol for any zone grants the same badge. So if you've outleveled Sirens, Warburg will work just fine.
  7. Red SSA1 (Who Will Die) part 4 in St. Martial will also get you Hero Slayer. Both the Bricks and St. M SSA have to be set for team size of 2 to get the badge in 1 session, from 0 to 25. To get Villain Disruptor you can farm the first mission of Khan. IIRC, there are 4 of them.
  8. it seems to me that Traps has a pretty major boon for Illusion - an immob to set up containment against the toughest targets.
  9. I'm a Traps fan and don't share many of the complaints expressed here except for 1 - FFG mobility. Speed is a part of the problem but just as much is ability to move around caves (for example). Sometimes I end up just re summoning rather than going backward to help with its pathing. Actually I do have another complaint. I like Web Grenade but the end cost seems high. I'm not going to go through all ST immobs, but my /Atomic blaster's ST immob has a base recharge of 4 seconds and 17.8 second duration and has a base cost of 5.2 end. WG in contrast has the same base recharge and duration but almost twice the endurance (9.75). Controllers (the ones I checked at least) recharge in 4 seconds, cost 7.8 end but have a base duration of ~28 secs. Bottom line, on a /Traps MM my end bar goes down real quick like when I go into spam WG mode against an AV/GM.

  11. I'm also in the "6 slot" or "1 slot" camp. It even works in an ally-only power. For example on a Cold Dom user I'll throw it (and nothing else) in Frostworks.
  12. Dangit, going back through I see my earlier post was derivative. So anyway, I was looking to get some levels for my kin. I put an offer to inf on the LFG channel and got a bite. I was diligent keeping SB and FS up, but the farmer kept going afk and the xp was slow. It was so frustrating. I had to ask "Won't you tell me, why I work so hard for you? Give you money all to give you money"
  13. I was duoing with a Pain Dom while I was playing a Blaster. Some Rikti missions from Borea. A Mentalist hit me with a Mesmerize then my teammate says "oh man, sorry but gtg, rl calling" and I asked her to "wake me up before you go, cause I'm not planning on going solo".
  14. You can go to the Merit Vendor and "color up" your reward merits for Hero or Villain merits at a 50 RM to 1 HM/VM rate. You can then e-mail the Hero merit, claim it on another character then go back to the Merit Vendor to break it back down to 50 reward merits.
  15. Any duo, and I mean any, can crush an AV with Envenomed Daggers. I offer firsthand testimony for this. I wouldn't limit options to something with -regen just for AV fights if you're not drawn to such a set already. Not saying don't choose it, just saying you don't HAVE to choose it.
  16. I immediately placed that drop in base salvage storage and have done smash and grabs on over a score of a new 50s, which never had an access bypass drop. But sure, I'll bear in mind.
  17. Access Bypass seems to have a very low drop rate. I do a disproportionate number of mayhems (I genuinely enjoy those) and recently got my first access bypass since starting up in... May, I think it was. I always do all the sides so I've been doing the "smash and grabs" they drop from. Based on my number of 50s, I'm going to guess I've done at least 100 smash and grabs (and whatever the hero equivalent is) and only have 1 access bypass to show for it.
  18. I just used a power analyzer (like anyone can do) to see and the resistance to sleep was 0. In fact all mez resists were 0, triangles or no. Mag was 50 for non-sleeps with triangles up.

  20. I'm going to guess with high certainty that SR wasn't available to tanks when that guide was written. I'm grinding up an SR tank right now and for my vote, it's the clear winner to the question posed in the subject heading, soft-capped from Posi on up.

There's not really a hierarchy so much as there's "the right tool for the job". Back in the retail version, I tried to make sure I had all 3 at any point in time. My own preference for order to acquire - 1) bio 2) chem 3) nuke 2. Eh, they seem a bit like overkill now. You can't use them for iTrials and everything else gets steamrolled with a quickness. Still, it might be worth having one or two in your back pocket in case you somehow get stuck on some hell team that can't defeat the Freedom Phalanx (for example) for some reason. Frankly the only reason I don't pursue them now is due to how annoyed I get at the scientists and how dumb they are at following.
  22. Here's a way to sneak in 20% global recharge - use the base empowerment buff "increase attack speed". Buy a dozen (scores even) of each of the 3 pieces needed (2 commons, 1 uncommon) and stick them in your personal vault. While the base teleport trick is still available, just whisk yourself away real quick whenever the buff expires. Again... it's 20%. I make sure it's on all my characters, all the time. The other base empowerments ain't too shabby either.

  24. I just obtained a summon power not listed in the link of temp powers I gave above. It's a Tsoo Sorcerer summons from the dude in Steel Canyon that's an art director. I'm fairly sure it's post i23 content so not in Paragonwiki. Excellent arc, by the way, deeper than most I've seen. I don't want to say too much about it for those who are new to it.
  25. Mako has 1 more kill all than BS, otherwise, I'd nominate Mako's arc, since you can configure your settings so the final boss (McKnight) has a Boss rank. Ghost Widow, on the other hand, is straightforward for missions but the end boss Numina is not exactly "easy mode". Scirocco is for those seeking a challenge.
