With the exception of the weapons. The Widows only have access to the Widow weapon skins. Can't make a Wolverine clawed Widow, unfortunately. I haven't played the other half of the SoA, so I can't say if the spider guys have the same issue with weapons. But, I'd bet they do.

I'm guessing you're not talking about a radioactive monkey..? Although, I guess an argument could be made that the Rikti Monkeys could be radioactive...

Could it have been a rough Estonian translation of Chinese that actually said, "Oops, I dropped my contact lens!"

Farming may not be the most efficient way to farm!
Twisted Toon replied to Hew's topic in General Discussion
That's farming too. You're just farming fun, instead of Inf or XPs. It's City of Farming. Just not everyone farms for the same thing...In your case, Emmy, you're probably farming syrup. -
The Rikti might disagree...

Getting a team of 8 to run a Portal Corp Freakshow mission or 12 might work as a farm... -

The Luck of the Gambler Def/+7.5 Rech enhancement enhances Defense just like any other Defense enhancement would. It just adds a global +7.5 recharge bonus as well. There are a few other enhancements that are similar, or just have the global bonus (of some sort). Synapse's Shock: End Mod/+Run speed and Impervium Armor: Psionic Resistance are other examples. Although, Synapse's Shock is a unique and Impervium Armor is not.

Give them the fighting pool and they could have Hot Cross Puns...

Why I think Corruptors are taking a back seat to Defenders
Twisted Toon replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
If I'm not mistaken, the first version of Defender Vigilance was an End Discount based on the health of the team. The lower the health of the team, the more of a discount the Defender got. If a Defender was doing his job, then his Inherent wasn't doing anything. -
You need to start young to be a politician. Around 5 years old, like the Jedi...

Funny story about Captain Wrong. I got the idea for him from Lady Sadako on the forums, back when the game was live. She had responded to someone in a thread with "you couldn't be more wrong is you were Captain Wrong, with your wrong-bots, fell into a vat of toxic waste and gained an aura of wrong. So, I asked her if I could have that name, and mention her in the bio. So, Captain Wrong, and his Wrong-bots, was born.

Why I think Corruptors are taking a back seat to Defenders
Twisted Toon replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
I think the real problem with support ATs feeling useless on large teams, is primarily laid at the Incarnate power's feet. One way to possibly fix it, is to make Incarnate abilities only work with incarnate content, and not all content. That way, you won't have Damage dealing (or Tanking) ATs able to take over the duties the support ATs, in addition to their normal stuff. This will, of course, annoy a lot of fully incarnated people that like to trivialize normal content. Do I think it's a good idea? Probably not. Just one that I came up with about 10 seconds ago. -

What I think the major flaw of this game always was....
Twisted Toon replied to Krzbrg1's topic in General Discussion
Why do you assume that when someone says "balanced", they mean "the same"? Balanced, does not mean "the same". Do you honestly think that any game that was designed with PvP, from the start, doesn't make character balance a priority? Mechwarrior Online (when I tested the Beta) balanced their teams by tonnage. Unless there was a bug, you wouldn't find a team of six 100 ton mechs fighting a team of six 30 ton mechs. 100 ton vs 100 ton was an even match, and came down to player skill and luck. And then you have everyone playing the same AT with the same 2 Power-sets. So, you're now playing PvP where everyone has the exact same powers because anything else won't hack it in PvP. That might have had something to do with feasibility and return on investment. Considering the small percentage of people that played PvP on live, they might not have seen it as worth the invested time and money to make those changes. I don't know. I wasn't a part of the planning sessions for the game during its live run. -

Story-wise, they way Hero vs Villain PvP was introduced was fairly seamless. Mechanics-wise, it was as clunky as driving a car on triangular wheels. The ATs were not even remotely designed with PvP in mind. Not to mention the balance between the powers within each AT. Yes, if you are going to have PvP in a game, there is an absolute need for balance between powers and ATs, including powers within each AT. CoH's powers balance was atrocious when it was first released. Same for the AT balance. It became very apparent when the Arena was introduced. If they had planned on adding PvP to the game, they would have planned the ATs with that in mind. They just had the idea, "we'd like to have PvP in this game" but didn't actually put any thought (planning) into it until after the game was released. And, by then, it was too late to plan the ATs (and the powers) for PvP. Which, is one reason why we got the Issue 13 PvP revamp and the PvP powers working differently than the PvE powers. Those were plaid patches trying to cover a hole in pinstriped materiel. -

Intending to have something in a game, and planning to have something in a game, are two separate things. They might have intended to have PvP in the game. But, they didn't plan for it when they released the game in 2004. Otherwise, PvP would, most likely, have been introduced in a more seamless manner. And, CoV would probably have been released along side CoH in 2004, instead of three years later. -

(RP-friendly) Naming a Peacebringer
Twisted Toon replied to Necrodemus's topic in General Discussion
My PB is named Radiant Justice. She's tri-form, and currently stalled, at around 39, while I play with "the new shiney" My WS is named Agent Standin. He's also a Tri-form, and currently stalled, at around 25, while I play with "the new shiney" Stil Standin was just a bloke, the son of Ben and Ann Standin. He was volunteered to be a part of the project to join with a similarly volunteered Kheldian. They decided, together, that they didn't really want to follow the orders of the Council and became a hero(es?), instead. I made him, back on live, to be the back-up tank, and a fill-in character when they had less than 8 players on Agent nights. So, Standin, was the stand-in tank, who would be still standing when things got dicey.- 22 replies
