  1. I guess it would have been when they introduced the "Master of" badges on Live. The first one that you could get was "Master of Statesman's Task Force". We were all waiting anxiously for the servers to come up so that we could make a stab at being some of the first to get the badge. The first mission was slow and methodical with everyone being ultra careful. Soon we were rolling through at a fairly normal clip. We got to the last mission. Back at that time, you really tried hard to pull only one of the Signature villains at a time to avoid a team wipe. We did good with the first pull, Sirocco I think it was. The second pull, not so much. We got two and one was Ghost Widow with her dreaded hold that will drop the tanks shields. I was busy hitting Increase Density as fast as I could while trying to squeeze in Speed Boosts and an occasional heal as I could. Ghost Widow turned from the tank and hit one of the squishies and dropped their health to a point that the bar wasn't visible. Luckily I hit a heal a fraction of a second later and saved the badge run. We had a couple of other semi close calls, but that was the worst one that we had. We finished the run successfully and got our Master of Statesman's Task Force badge.
  2. I'm going to just trout on out of this thread.

  5. I was toying around with a similar thought Monday. "The Ebil Philanthropists". A group that gives out wealth to the needy. I was stuck on how to figure out who the needy were. I had thought of a forum post where folks could post their global and get a donation from a random member or members, but so many don't even know the forum exists. Any ideas?
  6. Tried that too. Nothing seemed to work until I added a single badge. I spent about a half an hour trying different scenarios to figure it out. Ornery is a good word for it.
  7. Issue with the log parser today. I switched computers over the weekend and didn't bring the badge file over. No problem I thought. I'll just rung the settitle.txt and import them again. Run the parser and nada. Bar fills, no badges. I downloaded the settitles.txt file again. Nope, still not budging. Deleted today's log file and restarted CoH. That doesn't help either. Finally decided to add a single badge that I knew I had. Ran the parser and it imported all badges. No idea why it refused to do anything until I added one badge to the character. After I added the one badge it was happy and imported all 1237 badges.
  8. Getting ready to switch to new PC as soon as Amazon shows up with the motherboard I have been waiting on. May not get to this one for a bit.
  9. If there is a Night Widow on the map, she can blind you. Takes a ridiculously long time to wear off.
  10. There is a Google doc and a .csv file farther down in the thread.
  11. GM Kal compiled a list a month or so ago.
  12. Cool beans. I know I ask a lot, but I have done UI development and testing for a really long time (from back when mainframes were all the rage) so I understand the process. I know some of the stuff I report will be gotten to in time. I also know if I don't say anything I get surprised often enough that what I didn't report gets left out, so I report it all. I'll be the first to say that running a R&D development team can be... challenging. You don't know what is in the development folks minds, but experience lets me guess fairly closely most of the time. That same experience also fails me fairly often when I think something is obvious and it apparently isn't. Hence I tend toward too much information at times. Glad it helps you out by sharing the files. I know how hard it is to replicate without good data. I may not get to every release that you put out, but I am very interested in seeing where this ends up. It is an awesome endeavor and will be a huge boon to the community when you get it done.
  13. It would be nice if the installer would at least allow the user to do an Over the top install. Now we have to go out to Control Panel, Uninstall, then install. Not a lot of steps, but it is a PITA. Issues and concerns in 0.0.7: 1. Need a selection to leave Health and Stamina slots alone. The AI takes slots even though as an experienced build I know the build will need them to keep Endurance up. Hasten and Build up need to have leave it alone options for the slots. Picking bonuses is great, but they should stay at the minimum slots assigned unless more are needed for the bonus. 2. Some powers seem to be totally ignored for slotting even though they have great inherent attributes. The real issue here is that the AI doesn't seem to use the base values for some powers as the starting point. For example on my Ill/Rad, it leaves Accelerate Metabolism and Hasten unslotted as well as often ignoring Combat Jumping, Maneuvers, etc when going for Recharge, Accuracy, and Defense. 3. As mentioned above, we need a minimum of Install on Top for the process. I know, I hate mucking with Installers too, but if you want folks testing they aren't going to want to do the extra steps. Just sayin. The new AI is doing an incredible job of picking really good stats with the minimum iterations and generations on some builds. I did a Willpower/Fiery Tanker and got extremely good results for Defense and Resistance. Color me impressed for that one. Attached are the two builds I am currently testing with along with the AI profiles. 14. I think the below directions should clear it up: It has to do with doing something in the game where you take your character on a mission, task force, strike force or a trial that gives merits. You then repeat that behavior and collect those merits until you have 1500.
  15. I need it too. Someone ran it last week, but I was too late to get in on it.
  16. #1 Seems to be working correctly in 0.0.5. *shrug* #3 I hadn't considered that would affect the view, but it makes sense now that you mention it.
  17. This. The Atlas Park music just makes me feel like a hero, It's the first place a take a character and the last place I level all because of the music.
  18. Pretty much why my namesake is now an Ill/Rad Controller. Regen was so painful to play on Live, I couldn't bring myself to make another one.

  20. Doing a bit of testing with my main, Ill/Rad Controller. Recharge 77, Accuracy 20. 25 Generations, 250 Iterations. 1. Iterations show 10 until the slider is touched. 2. Crashes if you cancel. (Known bug) 3. Iterations do some odd counting. Guessing this is from adding the specials. 4. AI seems to favor Resistances over all else, regardless of what is picked as primary bonus. See attached Mids files. AI Build (Starting point) , AI Build 1 (10th Gen), AI Build Final (Final Gen) 5. AI doesn't know about slotting Brawl as a mule. Not sure about Health and Stamina. 6. If you don't have all slots/powers, the warning dialog comes up once, but no subsequent warning from the Robot Woman dialog after the first. #4 is not a bad thing, just not expected. It's looking better! Controller - Ill - Rad - 3 (AI Build).mxd Controller - Ill - Rad - 3 (AI Build 1).mxd Controller - Ill - Rad - 3 (AI Build Final).mxd
  21. Once in a while you may need to log completely out, close the game and then try again. It's been like this since Live.
  22. Or you use dual boxing software such as ISBoxer. Gives you control over where windows launch and how the key presses interact. (I have no stake in this software, I do use it occasionally)
  23. Totally agreed, but I have had it happen a few times where only a few files were affected at first, then it kept getting worse and worse. It's never a bad idea to run diagnostics when something like this occurs. You might uncover a bigger issue that you were unaware of.
  24. Or your hard drive might be on the way out. I hope that isn't it, but losing files is a sign that you might need to check it out.
