I believe something is wrong with the invention crafting and badges
Ura Hero replied to WillParkinson's topic in Bug Reports
What @The Godchildsaid. You have to create certain recipes of certain levels. It is a pain trying to keep up with it all. -
That's where the meme originated. At the time I started using the avatar and it was popular I did technical support and I always wanted to be able to email customers back and tell them; "I have no idea what you just asked, but here's a picture of a bunny with a pancake on it's head." For the record, it wasn't me that emailed you. If you are interested (not likely that you are, but anywho); Oolong is the name of the rabbit. https://www.newstatesman.com/science-tech/internet/2017/11/living-meme-what-happened-bunny-pancake-its-head

Trials have never had maps. They were intended to be difficult. If you can't see where you are going or where you have been then it's difficult, right? It's kinda dumb when you looked back at it, but at the time this was developed, EverQuest was the dominator in the field of MMORPG's. There wasn't a lot to draw from for good game design. Some things just haven't been revisited.

The server bot is being flaky today.

It wouldn't be the first time someone decided that everyone wasn't playing the game correctly and attempted to "fix" it by screwing with the game. I've been dumping my unused salvage at 1 inf, but it won't make a dent in the problem. As far as a "Fist", I don't have one that I use regularly buying. I bump to whatever I think I can buy for. Now selling I have one, but that one keep to myself. I still think the drop rates are wonky for AE, but I have no proof since I haven't kept records. I just know how many runs that it took to fill my salvage bins up on my farmers and It's taking 1.5 to 2x as many now.
-
@Oklahoman I hope this doesn't spoil you from continuing the badge runs on Excelsior. Personally I enjoy them and am very glad you run them. Thanks!

It's happened quite a few times to @Oklahoman's runs. Enough so that it feels intentional.

Didn't intend it to sound that way. I don't know why it is happening. Regardless I'm not the only one noticing this. Being a fairly active marketeer I notice when the market shifts. There is much less supply and prices have risen sharply. Whether it was on purpose or by design, it is forcing the prices closer to Live territory and I am not a fan of that. I hated spending hundreds of millions to get a single enhancement. I have a life, I don't want to spend 80 hours a week in game to kit out a character, that's why I dislike WoW so much. Too many time sinks.
-
It is anecdotal, but I can tell that I am not getting nearly as many drops as I used to. I'm not the only one who noticed. At first I thought someone was manipulating the prices, but since then I have noticed that the available amount of items for sale in Wentworth's has decreased considerably. I am a fairly active marketeer so I tend to notice when folks tamper with the market. Something has definitely changed where availability of recipes and salvage is down and prices are way up.
-
I think this is related to the February 18th drop rate "nerf". Drop rates in AE declined immensely with the February 18th patch. Since then the amount of salvage and available recipes for purchase has decreased considerably and Wentworth's prices have risen. Supply and Demand; it's not just a suggestion, it drives the market.

Very snazzy. Looking forward to using it.

/slight rant Not having been mentioned yet is the way to get to the Incarnate slotting menu is extremely well hidden. I've had to point it out to several people. Poor UI design is one of my biggest pet peeves. And the Incarnate slotting and crafting access is one of the poorest UI implementations that I have ever seen. Incarnates are Powers and the button to get to the slotting and crafting should be more visible. Words on top of a header is a horrible implementation, most people assume that it is just a heading, not something that can be clicked on. Other than that I am pretty happy with the system as a whole. The down side is that shards and threads need to be slightly more interchangeable. I have tons of threads and very few shards. It seems like it is taking forever for me to accumulate enough shards to finish my T4, while I have all but one of my thread based T4's.

That's been the status quo since Homecoming launched. Not enough manpower to do the research to see if it is warranted or not. I'm sorry, but that has been and is the case.

IIRC back on Live I used an arena team with a second account to get this with Longbow wardens vs some low level enemies. The enemies couldn't over damage the wardens and the wardens couldn't damage the enemies. Basically one big standoff.

Market Bug: Different Items are sharing sales history.

Looks like the devs possibly did a Find Next instance instead of Find Exact. This happens all the time in Excel lookup tables. Wanders off mumbling about hating Excel at times... -
Sort of:

I was looking for exactly this the other day. Thanks @AboveTheChemist!

No idea how it happens, but the devs confirmed that it wasn't looking stuff up correctly on live. I imagine that the Homecoming team will get it fixed eventually. Too many higher priority fires right now to worry about something that is right 95% of the time.

I used to have niches, but I have priced out of most of them. Right now I am doing random buys that convert with one flip into a rare. Broad range and low bids. Takes a lot of slots, but I am not posting new stuff at the moment so it doesn't really matter. Trying to bleed off inventory. Ya'll need to buy more so I can get back to making influence.

Something I tell my tech support guys all the time; "Just because one person has issues, does not mean everyone has issues." In other words, you can't judge everyone else's performance by your own. I have been with City of Heroes since Issue 2. I have had tons of time to figure out all of the silly crap that the game does that makes it difficult. Am I an expert? Maybe. I refuse to label folks with that term unless they know more than I do. And there are a lot of folks in the game that know more than me about certain aspects of the game. I can tune the game client to allow me to run in almost any game scenario with quite a few accounts going at the same time, but then again I have a computer that was set up to do maximum gaming. It's really not an issue if you have a computer with horsepower. If you have a $399 laptop with Intel graphics, your going to have issues regardless of tuning. I agree that on the high population servers, multiboxing in raids shouldn't be allowed unless the raid is having difficulty filling. Even on Excelsior we have times where it is next to impossible to fill a MSR or Hami. The regularly scheduled raids rarely have issues filling way before start time. Multiboxing during the regular raids is just being greedy, IMHO. Multiboxing during a nearly empty raid is helping out. It's all a matter of perspective. TLDR; People need to quit painting the entire canvas with the same brush. It always turns out a mess.

The auction house display has issues. IE you can't trust it to show exactly what the last few bids are. It's been that way since live. Maybe they will get it fixed at some point.
