  1. The Storm Elelemental Lore pets are some of my favorites. You dont have to try to explain "this random guys" in your backstory working for you. Works with a lot of power concepts. I wish the Phantoms were actually anything ghost like. They are just a couple of bland tight wearing helpers. Really? But Storm elementals work well.

    Dark / Mental

    Thanks for looking at this. I am not good at Mids. My MiDs showed 45% Ranged Dfense. It took me adding it up by hand 3 times and poking around to see what was off. Stealth is listed as 2 numbers. The grand total shows the Big number while not fighting, 45%, the power quick description had it at the lesser number down to 43.51%. I will drop Afterburner (sigh, going to be some long commutes in the shadow shard) and pick up Combat Jumping in its place. I am going to run and level it the rest of the way to 50 at this build. (now at 40) and see how it does. I have Phase Shift as my "oh crap" button in case combat is no longer me killing things and starts to be that other thing.

    I really prefer ranged but after playing Ice / Temp and Dark / Mental the Darkside just seems so easy. (shut up yoda!) Seriously easy for me to slap cones on things.   4. been playing both this and my dark/mental blaster. as much as i want pure ranged the dark mental just seems so much more fluid in combat I have always enjoyed cones and struggle mightily with location AoEs. One is 39 and one is 42 now. Doing TFs for playtesting / merits /enjoyment. Ice/Time looks so good on paper. I just really struggle to bring it to the slamfest.

Based on your suggestions (and straightening out some of my major misconceptions) I have revised the build in a big way. I still wanted to put 5 Grav Anchor in Time Wall. Until I realized that was unenhanceable? So.... I Love having some Dom type powers and kept Pacing of the Turtle in Snow Storm. This may be a crazy idea.   7. The game IS balanced around I/Os. Have you not encountered a team running +4/x8? Or have you ever tried a Incarnate Trial with toons that are SOd?
  8. Sooo, seeing a LOT of threads about "classic challenge" and "This is too easy" and yadda yadda ya da. What about us? Those whiny sneaky snarky little alts that just want POWAH!?! No, seriously. I have seen quite a few new people in the game. After you been doing this for a decade you may want to try leveling to 50 on Dual Origin Enhancers. But lets throw some info to the newer players (and I might get a tip to put in my hat for later) What would be the absolute easiest AT and powersets to do a lot of solo pre-50 stuff on? It may come down to preference. I havent tried MMs since a few failed experiments on live. Could never get my bots to do what I wanted. Is yodeling really too much to ask? Anyways I hear MMs can be beastly solo. Which makes sense as the rumor is they were designed as Redside Tank class. My personal preference is Brutes. Although at a standard setting of +0/x1 and with the changes to the Tank AT.....very nice. Some people just Blast. Many tend to know where the NPCs will be and have the maps memorized. But there are some trigger happy gamers who may not have Paragon memorized and still believe that just Blast it and move on is the only playstyle. So....tell us what you think. Show me the Powah! errr, please?

And no one besides a few competent lawyers can answer. and any group of them will start arguing the finer points. No one on Homecoming needs those legal hassles. If I remember correctly the original, evil publisher of our beloved game fought Marvel. But afterwards they were very gunshy about any tribute characters. What you are seeing is erring on the side of caution and wisdom. Like if you go to cross the street but forget what country you are in. Look both ways. Twice. On second thought, better to order in.

  11. I am trying to come to an understanding of Ice / Times powers. I will play Ranged. Many plans to easily softcap ranged def. If only AoE softcap were as easy I would be ecstatic. I have a decent knowledge of Ice primaries powers. I have run them on Blasters and Sentinels. I tend to like them all. I need the Loc AoE target macro for tareget and self. misplaced that lol. But there are some powers, as I dig in, I find I may not be using correctly. Then there is Time, which, I have taken on a few Blasters, but have no idea how the nuts and bolts of how the powers work or how to get the most out of them. I am thinking either Ice or Force as an Epic, kind of preferring Ice, for theme. Also lost there 🙂 So, anybody got an hour to explain what I am supposed to be doing?   12. It would be even greater if you could do bank missions this way! Yes, i know the bank contact. Opening that contact up makes remembering to stop every 5 levels to do banking seem easy lol. Having an auto-exemp paper and banking option would be splendiferous
  13. My natural tendency is to run Brutes. Which I mostly do, sometimes Tanks. When I want a challenge I try to start running squishies. Been on a string of them for a few weeks. Sentinels, Blasters, Doms, now I am on a Blaster again. Last night I had just switched to my Blaster and was battling it out. I was like "I'm mezzed" Crap, forgot breakfrees. uh, t1 t2 t1 t2 crap.
  14. A huge commitment to a character. But it sounds like you are one foot in. Let me encourage you. Using AE to write basic fights and story arcs for your character in Kings Row would in fact be writing your own characters comic book. Then playing it! His/her own personalized villains and weekly dramas played out in battles to save Kings Row. I wish you good fortunes

  16. lol, I just rolled a Dark Armor tank to TANK lol. But I built him that way. My "main" is a dark/dark brute, that is tanky, but teams may not believe he is tanking...at all. No taunt, semi-steralthed. loves to range a half hallway further than the team for fresh spawns...

  18. Anything that is complex should be treated with respect. In the LRSF there is a segment of the mission where you need to get a (key? code?) and it is in a side room, with complex multilevel architecture, and it is PACKED with LB. If one Tank could walk through there and collect all the agro, keep walking (to the beginning of the map?) then maybe get teleported back to team. Yawn. One Tank or Brute splashes in, absorbing the first wave. everyone starts killing and you WORK to the objective. Quickly as possible, but always uses a nod to strategy and tactics. Because as soon as 18 people show up anyone who is not armored to the yang is in deep yin.
  19. One of the major <full stop> holdups to me running some power sets are the animations. Stone Armor. I was so happy on live running a SS/Stone Brute. Until Granite. So....my concept and character just got generic'd. Sigh. Never ran it again. I have this issue with Fire Melee and Ice melee as well. The sword. Its here. Its gone. Makes no sense. If you have an ice sword, why would you punch someone? Anybody? Just throw out a guess... I have some wonderful ice and fire concepts that I tend to run on squishies. I would try these on Brutes. would love to. But the swords....no, just...no. I am not a big MM player, but I have similar problems with the pets. I could full on make a Dark/Necro MM. Zombies all day long. Where the heck did the sword wielders come from? Do we have a crusader graveyard in the Rogue Isles I missed? Or maybe we are just digging up Cos-Players? I could almost deal with the lich. But the sword thugs. Nope. Just had to rant as I got sidetracked over 3 projects in a row over costume/animation issues. I don't suppose there are some generic animations on the way for anything? Or ...ooooh...a pure zombie necro MM?

  21. THis. It is so much easier to kill groups after they have clustered around the tank/brute/stalker...sorry scrappers. It is great to constantly have new players. Yes! It is frustrating to team with them sometimes. Like, really? you are adding so much work here dude lol
  22. When I started you had to walk both ways uphill. In the snow. Seriously though, we have players here who have played since issue 1. I came in later, bought the Good vs Evil edition. Back then Fitness was a pool you had to buy into. No inherent Stamina. It was fugly. I ran Brutes. (Still do) It was a ....show until around level 20. You could not do much for more than a minute of combat. I used rest as a cooldown power lol. Fight, kneel, fight, kneel. These days. Dwayne Johnson has a motivational video on Enhancement on youtube. Wait, different subject. Funny though. Enhance. Priority. Panacea in Health, Performance Shifter Proc in Stamina. Then, add Numina and Miracle procs. If still sucking air add Perf Shifter End in Stamina to two-set it. Then maybe a +End Mod SO in Stamina as well. If your AT build has any other End solving powers (many do) utilize them correctly. Slot the equivalent of at least 1 SO Endurance Reduction in each End hungry power. Aside from my asides that is a very brief solution to ALL your endurance issues. Watch the video though. I stilll do every couple months. Its a hoot.
  23. I learned (in this thread!) that agro cap is a simple line of code attached to the map. Or something like that. You are suggesting adding all sorts of subroutines to it? If Brute... If Tank....If Stalker.... Then what happens on teams? Ooof.
