  1. Oh so like a targeted AoE you select the ground somewhere and it teleports those critters to you? Neat!
  2. How does it work? Is it like shield charge or TP Self where you activate it and choose a destination, and all the mobs around you go to the destination?
  3. But how would you target them to begin with?
  4. I don't know if you have a system for managing your binds, but here's what I do: keybinds.txt is your global bind file and applies to all your characters. You can update it with /bindsave and load it with /bindload. I load it with numpad7 I mostly play melee toons, so I have a big repository of "armor-shield.txt" type files with a common key to turn on all the toggles in that armor. So one for bio, ice, etc. I load it with numpad8 Then I have a third bindfile with binds unique to that character: battle cry, some emotes, taunts or nukes, other key powers. I load it with numpad9 I use Notepad++ to edit them, and usually keep a bunch of bindfiles open so I can edit and save them while playing, until they are exactly how I want them. Then when I log into a toon I press numpad 7/8/9 and it loads up all my current binds and if I forget how do activate a power on an alt I haven't played in a while I just look in Notepad++
  5. I know there's portal door missions where you go to the future or the past to fix something. The first one that pops to mind is Scirocco's arc where you go kill someone in the future and bring back a trophy to the present to show that person. Miss Liberty TF sends you around time too, using Portal Corp. And in the portal corps mission arcs like Unai who's to tell that the time in an alternate dimension is on the same "present time" as ours? Oh I guess that's what your first sentence implies. I don't know the official lore, but it could easily be explained that the Echo zones are alternate dimensions where those zones didn't get destroyed by the original dev team, rather than that zone as it existed 20 years ago.
  6. What needs fixing on Lift is implementing guaranteed ragdoll. Right now critters occasionally get lifted and stand up and attack during the entire animation, land on their feet, and continue attacking. What needs fixed on Propel is a bit of powerset customization to let you pick what you propel. I want to make it propel Loki so I can do "Get help!" I think it's great that there's a high-damage Control set.
  7. Great suggestions. To maintain that "element of surprise" the other person mentioned it could be a goal that changes from "defeat 5 generals" to "defeat Requiem!" after you've defeated 4 generals. I've seen mission objectives change like that as you progress through it. As for doors, I wouldn't mind if they were changed to match most door mission doors where you click and go in and I don't think there's any animation. I just want to go in, I don't care if the people behind me see an open door next to a black rectangle that they can't click on. Seems like for Sister Solaris and all the other hostages devs could boost their perception so they see through stealth and can see further than 5 feet period so you don't have to stand right next to them and tap your foot to get them to follow. Hostage sees you across the room / map, Oh there you are, and comes running over. That'd be great.
  8. Well, OP didn't make a very clear or argued suggestion, just a snippet of conversation with someone else. Was "I want to feel powerful with any epic power" the suggestion? I've never taken Scorpion Shield on any of my characters. I play mostly melee and I don't think it's even an option for any of them, but also never took it on any of my other toons. I feel plenty powerful with the Epic powers I pick. Heck, I usually wind up with so many powers it's hard to fit them all in the trays! And I feel plenty powerful with all of them... well unless I'm trying to defeat anything with my Earth/Time controller. It can lock down tons of foes but takes forever to defeat anything. But he doesn't have Scorp Shield either. So do that: pick powers, use powers, feel powerful. Good suggestion!
  9. Total Domination should be an AoE Dominate, with damage. Telekinesis should do ticks of crushing damage, like Crushing Field from Grav, and the other AoE immobs. Then you could do a mass sleep to set containment and Telekinesis them half to death before running out of endurance. But then you could Terrify them and run away.
  10. I think I accidentally walked in the middle of your conversation with someone else 😬
  11. Also Nightcrawler has no KB protection. If he gets hit he goes flying!
  12. On tough targets I wind up using ET then TF then ET again. ET recharges in the time it takes TF to animate and it *feels* like I'm doing good damage. I didn't play much Energy Melee before this but it now plays how I wish Mace did. I much prefer these SFX and VFX. Mine is Energy/Shield. I skipped one of the first punches and at 50 felt like I didn't have enough attacks so I took Zapp and Ball Lightning. Ball is 5-slotted with Ragnarok and the Chance for KD. Between Shield Charge, Ball, Whirling Hands, and all those pom-poms of fury things get knocked down or stunned quite a bit. I seem to get hit quite a bit despite being soft-capped but I can defeat things so fast it doesn't matter. Big difference from the Tanks I'd been playing the last couple months. I treat Power Crash like the old Shadow Maul. Line up a few critters, wait a few seconds, then resume play.
  13. I want to start by saying I appreciate the Homecoming team, the devs and GMs, and the work behind the scenes. I totally love playing CoH again and donate if I see the call. I appreciate the effort to give a substitute for /ebfp. My opinion on /ebfp: It was perhaps the single most "super-heroic" feeling power in the game. Particularly on an RP level, after completing a Task Force or gaming session, or while going through a mission arc, being able to click my base TP and zoom up into my secret lair to craft, level up, sell, chat in global channels, and travel (nearly) anywhere in the world to thwart some evil was just amazingly fun and satisfying. I've never PvPd and never cheated on a Master run though, so I'm probably in the minority. Being in a base is basically lag-free, and I don't get stuck listening to another player's powers while we both stand around. Now, when I finish an ITF or an Ouro TF I have to sit and think, "OK, how do I get back to a zone where I can enter my base?" (But now that I've learned @faultline's tip below, that sadness is mitigated) I didn't know about this, and I read *most* of the patch notes and a lot of the discussion threads. Thanks for saying it again, that's really handy. I wish the base TPs could be consolidated and players could purchase / unlock enhancements to the power, instead of buying/unlocking multiple individual powers with unique cooldowns with different ways of buying or earning them. For instance, instead of getting three base teleporters, buy one, and then buy recharge decreases on it. The existing standard 10-minute recharge for 1 million inf, 5-minute recharge for another 15 mil, 2-minute for another 20+ mil, 36 million total, etc, for example. I do like the droppable base portal, it'll be handy on teams if lots of people have them, just like rotating through Team Transport and O portals. And it'd be *really* cool if Ouroboros got a base portal since it's an all-levels zone now. LRTP is a super sweet addition to the game that's easy enough to get. A lot of my toons already had at least one exploration accolade and got LRTP when the issue went live. Now it's just a sort of hassle not knowing which characters have any given zone unlocked. The proposed pop-menu will be really nice. While running missions I check if my toon has the zone unlocked and if not, look for an exploration badge while traveling. I'm an alt-o-holic so probably won't pimp out LRTP on most of my toons. Again, it'd be sweet to add Ouro to the LRTP destinations. O portals are occasionally used to grief by being dropped on doors or on TF contacts and then you accidentally click the diamond and TP to Ouro instead of the intended action.
  14. To find out the "standard" slotting, just open the build in Mids, switch the view to the Enhance window to see what values are on a power. Then you have to do a little mental math to convert to standard IOs. For instance, this Pistols slotting would be about two Acc, four Dam, two EndRedux, two Recharge. That's ten IOs which isn't possible with standard IOs/SOs. If you have enough play time to join a team and do a task force (30 minutes to about an hour for most TFs), if you can jump into whatever the weekly TF is you'll get a fat XP boost and double merits. Use a Merit Vendor to convert those to Enhancement Boosters, and those sell for over a million inf each. Doing that and crafting drops is how I slot up my toons. I prefer to buy Attuned IOs so I can use them starting around level 17 and keep 'em forever. There's typically an "uncommon" set that's fairly cheap in each pool. If you buy those recipes instead of standard IO recipes you can get more bang for your buck.
  15. Having Beast Run as the stance on my /Shield Defense scrapper made the shield disappear whenever I wasn't fighting. So standing in Beast mode or running in Beast, Shield disappeared.
  16. I wonder if this is a side-effect of the non-stacking travel powers change, but I don't see it in the patch notes. Edit: the notes say: Gymnastics (Replaces Agility) Gymnastics and Agility have been merged into a new toggle power Provides knockback protection, a 1.75% defence buff, a recharge bonus, a movement speed buff and some slow / mez protection
  17. Same for sending messages: If I want to reply to someone in /lfg, normally I click their name, press M (Message) and type it out. Right now, if you click any of the M/T/E shortcuts it doesn't put the name in there, just the command a space and a comma.
  18. Something's weird with the Chat shortcuts, for instance, if I want to reply to someone in /lfg, normally I click their name, press M (Message) and type it out. Right now, if you click any of the M/T/E shortcuts it doesn't put the name in there, just the command a space and a comma.
  19. Every tanker has the same soft-caps to resistance and defense, and can add plenty of that plus recharge. This just shows some of the baseline survival for a barely-enhanced Tank just standing there. In the end their built in weaknesses (like debuff resistance, auras, mobility, etc) are what make the big differences in how they perform. I was very surprised at how squishy my first Radiation Tank was, for so long, until I got into the forums to find some builds and consolidated a lot of inf from a bunch of toons to buy a whole bunch of uniques and sets and now it does quite well. A tank will last MUCH longer with 7 more heroes attacking everything they see.
  20. Oh, yep Elec Melee will do well too. The AoE stun help buy time when you need to heal. I don't recall seeing a build for that combo, but you can tweak any of the Rad builds with Elm.
  21. They're a good pair. It's just that people don't post every single possible combo. If you look through the forums you'll find plenty of Rad builds to load into Mids, then you can just change the secondary to EM. Plus Energy Melee is about to get a buff so people are really digging into it. Camel's Fire/Energy guild will tell you all about EM as it stands now and if you scroll down he has a Rad/EM build in there too. Here's one a guild on Radiation Armor:
  22. I agree with all of Justaris's suggestions. Dark Regen: base accuracy is 75% which is kinda low, especially if -acc debuffs are coming in from Circle of Thorns ghosts or something. It can take PBAoE enhancements so I'd give it the Theft of the Essence +End proc, plus three or four Acc/Rech IOs from Cleaving Blow, Eradication, etc, plus two EndRedux/Rech from the plain Healing sets. For KB, all you need at first is the Blessing of the Zephyr in your travel power. 3pts of -KB is enough for most of the game and if you do find yourself getting knocked back you can add the Karma one to Combat Jumping and a Steadfast Protection to one of your armors. 12 points of protection will block everything except Jane Tremblor and a few other massive knockbacks.
  23. If this helps the decision: Katana buffs Lethal/Melee, not Smashing/Lethal. More damage is Smashing than Lethal, so you'll wind up with oddly inconsistent defense.
  24. I'm in the low 40's and kinda annoyed at how slow so many Spines attacks are. Like after a Spine Burst, just standing there, glorying in the release. Come on, I want to do something else now!
  25. Yes, Rooted is so bad that even Electric Armor's Grounded laughs at it as it jumps through the air and gets kb'd back to the ground.
