I love DP but can't choose a secondary!

I know that if and when I start playing at "High End" every group is going to melty pretty much instantly to the procced out aim+build up recharge-intensive nuke crew. You folks are going to run in, click 3 buttons, and devastate everything and everyone you can in a single burst of insane damage.

 

I'd rather do more damage at all times and not have to click a couple powers whose only function is "Make your other powers hit hard for a few seconds"

 

It's entirely a playstyle choice in the end.

Oh don't get me wrong I generally agree with you, but especially as a blaster it's good to have at least one. I actually really hate builds having both of them. Buy especially with hail of bullets there are just times when firing off build up before it is just SOOOOO nice lol

Between Shinobi and Sprint you'll be running around as if you are a stalker. Grab fold space and you become a monster! Sneak into the enemy group use hail of bullets, immediately click fold space to grab any stragglers or ranged characters that you might have missed hit them with a couple of sword strikes, and make it rain bullets. Congratulations you've just wiped out two spawns back to back with no waiting!

 

And it will be even more powerful with the next patch when they make hail of bullets cast twice as fast!

 

Do you have a build handy? Mine is older and I'd love to see your plan.

I hardly ever take buildup. There are more efficient ways for me to get durability, or damage, or utility than a clicky that only works for a few seconds. And as mentioned before, at end game or high end or whatever, things just die and by the time I have popped buildup, half the spawn is already dead, unless im racing ahead of the team.

I have a DP device as well. I am running 8/4 setting on it. With burn out can produce 3 Gun drones..  Of course if you stagger it and are on top of the recharge you can keep it going for a bit.

This is my current build and I am doing Comic Con Fire farm with him.  Zero issues.. Which is 8/4 setting.. 

I created this build totally oblivious that I could do DP Ninja. But like many wanted a thematic gun shooting, sword wielding toon.. 

Of course in thread someone just said why not go DP Ninja blaster.

I was like what ?!?

I am looking to rework the 2nd build to have Ninja Tool Mastery

DP/Ninja is a heckuva flashy character to play.  This one was mine.  S/L/E/R with Alpha Agility, or you can get there with a Defense Amplifier pre-50 and if so, post-Agility you are S/L/E/M/R defcapped.  Very durable.

o I have been slowly playing this character for over the last little while (mostly play Controllers/MMs) but I am having fun with it and seeing some promise.  I have done a bit of research as best I can (no real DP/Sonic builds out there) but also reimagined someone else's build for another type of DP blaster as a starting point.

I am curious if this is a good direction and where can I improve on slots or direction.  This Hero will be playing in melee range as much as possible due to the nature of the powers, which is why I went a bit crazy on def/resists.  Thanks in advance.

Can't believe no one else has mentioned /Mental!  I LOVE my DP/Mental blaster.  She lives in the center of mobs and levels them.  SO much PBAOE goodness...

I too love DP. My recco's are

 

DP/dark blaster "can't hit me nyah nyah"

DP/SR Sentinel - boosted range on cryo ammo, rebirth, master brawler and Epic caltrops make this build hum

DP/Time Defender - FF recharge, Power Boost Epic makes this one actually have a lot of uptime.
