Weak sauce. If you go to the trouble of writing a guide why not make it a complete one? 'Grab vidiot' is good advice, but hardly where it could have ended.

As someone who did the leg work of the accolades yesterday (and hadn't done it in a decade) I was reminded of how the badge part of one accolade will send us to one zone, and then the plaques part of another will have us return to it. So a better way of doing it would have been to copy from Wiki the locations for each zone to ensure there is no back and forth for the people who are here... looking for a guide.

Since the job of community guide writer is currently open, why not apply yourself and give us a hand.

There is no pay, no rules (except those found in the CoC), no set hours, or hours of any kind, no official endorsement, and sadly, all to often, no praise.

Seriously...If you took all the time yesterday to do the legwork, and the time to write this up, why not just add to the guide yourself here with the information.

If you are thinking...I don't wan't to take all that time to do it...I imagine the guide writer probably felt similarly.

Additionally, given that you have the resources to complete the accolades, and successfully did so, it seems like those references are in fact sufficient.

Could it be more pain free?  Certainly...Is this guide better than none...most definitely...As with all things, the balance between time and quality weighs on us all...

I think the OP did a great job, and number of people made suggestions without the need for criticism

I saw this *after* having done the legwork, yes, and back on Live I had a file with what I am talking about for this purpose. Yeah, he did part of the job, but laziness I'm just going to call out, such as guides on a class where the writers use acronyms and good luck for new players to untangle it, because taking the 0.5 extra seconds to write the full words would have been too much work.

So, anyway, here is what I used, feel free to paste it on the main body. The links show where the badges actually are and it's more useful than just the coordinates:

  1. Atlas Park /thumbtack 511, 5, -1151
  2. Atlas Park /thumbtack 134, 314, -340
  3. Perez Park /thumbtack -1174, -29, 2252
  4. Steel Canyon /thumbtack -2428, 48, -3408
  5. Boomtown /thumbtack -448, 42, 2170
  6. Kings Row /thumbtack -400, 4, 1760
  7. Kings Row /thumbtack -940.5, -41.7, 2977.4
  8. Kings Row /thumbtack -170, -42, -1467
  9. Kings Row /thumbtack -2175.9, 97.0, 1142.5
  10. Skyway City /thumbtack -1085, -16, -7612
  11. Talos Island /thumbtack 1777, 22, 7843
  12. Founders' Falls /thumbtack 1725, -8, 2400
  13. Brickstown /thumbtack -229, 8, -370
  14. Brickstown /thumbtack -3463, 4, 2062
  15. Independence Port /thumbtack -1615, 80, -1872
  16. Independence Port /thumbtack -1035, 36, -2441
  17. Independence Port /thumbtack 910, 100, -4175
  18. Terra Volta /thumbtack 351, 196, -3605
  19. Echo: Dark Astoria /thumbtack 3420, 46, 3038
  20. Echo: Galaxy City /thumbtack -752, 5, -1550
  21. Echo: Galaxy City /thumbtack -1184, 63, -936

Because of the changes to the teleports it's no longer viable to jump leap from zone to zone with them. The route is now a bit more optimized for using travel powers with two cut off points where teleports to a different zone altogether is needed. One is from Boomtown to KR and the other from Founders to Bricks, leaving the last one as requiring an Ouroboros portal for the Echo zones (they are behind the building).

Edit: Use /macro Portals "enterbasefrompasscode ZONE-8888" to move around more easily.

Heldenjaegger is the contact in Steel Canyon that has the 'TF' which can be set as as -1x8. We are not examplared if we do it at 50 and thus do not lose powers or IO bonus. Set yourself as no bosses and Fake Nemesis will spawn as lieutenants who can be two-shot. Don't fight the whole map or the mobs will get Vengeance stacked. I just flew around killing all Nemesis and then logged out and back in. Got around 25 of them each time.

You forgot to include instructions on finding in-game coordinates (/loc or /showfps 3) or on how to click a hyperlink. So lazy 😛

Jokes aside, an addendum to my earlier posts re. kills for exp - my new wolf spider go-to is dr. shelly percey's 'Midas Touched' arc. 3 mishes, first two are mostly wolf spiders and a ghostable mish to protect a glowie as last mish.

Posted

I would add just this one thing to those who are level 40 and trying to use the Signature Story arc out of Steel Canyon for the fakes: if you set it at -1, there will be no fakes. At level 41, you can go -1. But at level 40, you need to go 0 or higher. I guess, for some reason, Fakes don't show up at level 39. At least, they didn't for my level 40 scrapper.

Ok finally a definitive answer for the debt badge needed for High Pain. First, make sure you have patrol exp to cover it or the debt will stop when you hit the threshold of the next badge and you'll have to leave and kill things to clear it (experienced charges from super packs are handy here). If you're under level 45 go to monster island from the Grandville sub, turn off shields, run into monkey mobs, repeat til 200k debt is paid off. If you're level 50 go to the abyss from the same sub and let a giant monster kill you. It only takes 3 deaths to go from 0-200k debt in that scenario, with the tradeoff being no HPT til 50. But if you PL'd your toon it's perfect.

Well doing Invader this way is infinitely easier than doing Synapse/Citadel/Numina on Hero side, wow. I literally just got done doing the accolades the other day on my main tanker.

That said, one small thing that'll help:

Actually in Striga Isle if you wait around until dark, the Warwolf mobs become Vampyre mobs. You can still do both very easily in Striga and especially if you grab a friend who also needs the accolade, it'll take you about 20 minutes to do both. Just did this the other day.

Expand

According to this: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Time

Real time: :26 to :38 and :56 to :08

Council Vampyri will spawn in Striga Isle

That is to say, you don't have to wait around wondering when "Night" will happen. The Striga Vamps always spawn during the same times every hour.

Even easier than than showing up for the night vamp spawns is just starting a moonfire tf - the entire first mission is vamps. If they're all you need just keep restarting tf til you get them - at x8 it takes about a run and a half to a run and 2/3 depending on which map you get, but you can set the spawns to whatever you feel comfortable with. If you need wolves too run the second mission as well. I've been killing all the wolves in it but leaving the glowie and logging out for a second to reset. Once my wolves are done (again, run and a half-ish) i can restart the tf and be able to quit as soon as my vamp badge finishes, rather than having to finish the vamps to get to wolves again. Saves a minute or two. Bonuses to this are you get exp/drops, they don't take off running as much as grey cons, and any knockdown powers you use won't send them flying like a grey con. And no more sun coming up when you're at 197 😄

Alternate way of hunting Nemesis, if you're level 40+: do the Shadow Shard story arcs to get Lt. Col. Flynn as a contact. He gives neverending Nemesis and CoTs missions. (Sometimes there won't be a Nemesis mission available, but there usually is.) AFAIK, this is the only source of neverending Nemesis missions in the game. Do them at -1 x 8.

If you can actually form a team of 8, and make sure that everyone on the team has Team Transporter, you can do these as fast as you can get them from Flynn, and never have to worry about traversing the obnoxiously large Shadow Shard to get to the next one—there will always be at least one person on the team who has a fully-charged TT to use. (Oh, and for the first couple missions when you have to visit Flynn in person before he gives you his phone number, you can use the LFG port trick to port to Sara Moore; he's in the same room as she is.)

Or, you know, you could just be systematic and spend time getting every badge and every plaque in every zone. No running back and forth, plus you'll be all set for getting all the accolade powers, including the ones not mentioned in this guide.

Yesterday I timed how long it took to go from 0-badge for Wolf Spiders and Marcs in PO, a shade under 1/2 hour, which included some afk breaks.  Got all of HPT 15ish minutes later.  It truly boggles my mind that people still predominately pursue Freedom Phalanx.

Expand

The villain-side grind for Freedom Phalanx/HPT really is a lot easier and faster.  The guide in the OP is great for the other three Accolades, though.

I'm surprised so many seem to think Freedom Phallanx is such a grind. I've yet to reach level 50 and not have all the requirements except the explorations and Nemesis. Just now with my new 50 and I was looking at it, and yeah, gear smasher, tank buster, slayer, etc etc. The only slog is the exploration that can be skipped by going red, but we are going to explore anyway for the other three accolades. Nemesis is doing the first mission of the TF four times at about five minutes per run killing only Fake Nemesis.

Posted

If you do a lot of TFs leveling then yes, Fake Nems will be your only gap. But soloers or radio mish types it'll be a grind. And I usually have the villain equivalent by 31 if soloing - when I hit 30 i run to st. martial for papers to get hard luck as a contact. If I've been tf'ing the toon I'll jump over to grab his ouro at 35.

Posted

Fake Nems are hard to find, and also hard to beat quickly since they almost always get their damn shield up before you can take them out.

Contrast that to the villianside Family and Wolf Spiders who are found in abundance in PO at low levels. Marconeviille lives up to its name and has a lot of Wolf Spiders walking around too. Hang out behind the hospital in PO until you get the Family badge then go over to Oilspill (SW dock) and find Wolf Spiders everywhere.

The Brickstown SSA arc only needs to be set for 2 players, 8 is waaay overkill.  I set for 2 and get Hero Slayer (or equivalent) every time.

I can confirm this. I just did it again and set it to +2 instead of 2 players by mistake. The third mission gave me 20 out of the 25 required defeats.

Take a knee (that is - go into Rest) against a minion with no mez, like a CoT Guide (the one with the sword).

Go afk for a long, long time.

By now my decision path is:

If a lowbie (< 45) that I'm grinding levels with, then BiB.

If a character I PLd to 50, then PJ

Fake nemesis are easy to find actually, and can be made to spawn as -1 lieuts so they can be two shot. I have a link somewhere about it but it's a TF in Steel that has them right at the first mission.
