tidge Posted yesterday at 01:39 PM Posted yesterday at 01:39 PM Generally: I don't use the auto-complete feature unless a mission is obviously bugged or if it is a timed mission that I simply can't get to in-game. Even "defeat all" missions that are "in my way" to a badge or accolade tend to not bother me. However... I've found myself almost always using auto-complete on Tobias Hansen's Rescue the Scientists from the Council Blue-side Striga mission. the combination of often being a complicated cave map, wandering critters, and 'rescues' often hiding in corners and cubbies means that even though this can be a decent vampyr farm, if I have done a full sweep and a followup, it gets teh auto-complete treatment. Even the later "rescue the friendly Orenbegans from Malta" doesn't bother me like this one. What are some of your "Imma skip this one" missions? I know that quickie patron unlocks are a favorite for some folks. 1
High_Beam Posted yesterday at 02:41 PM Posted yesterday at 02:41 PM Sometimes its my mood. But sometimes its when I am playing Shrouded Roulette with Maria Jenkins after finishing the Hero's Arc and am not level 50. Get the mission to put Malaise down again. Complete! The kill every stupid lame Mek-Man in that one Striga mission annoys me at a cellular level. 2 Girls of Nukem High - Excelsior - Tempus Fabulous, Flattery, Jennifer Chilly, Betty Beatdown, Totally Cali, Two Gun Trixie Babes of War - Excelsior - High Beam (Yay), Di Di Guns, Runeslinger, Munitions Mistress, Tideway, Hard Melody, Blue Aria Many alts and lots of fun. Thank you Name Release For letting me get my OG main back!
Hedgefund Posted yesterday at 02:43 PM Posted yesterday at 02:43 PM Tobias' mission mentioned above is awful and equally so is Gordon Bower's Fir Bolg mission https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Gordon_Bower#Get_the_citizens_out_of_the_line_of_fire for exactly the same reason, hostages are guarded by mobs in hidey-holes you would never ordinarily enter. Both of these zones, all of the 4 sets of arcs) are completed by almost all of my characters, frequently via Ouro so auto-completing isn't an option. I'll rarely use autocomplete on Bower's mission because I'm saving that for... Skipper's mission to stop 30 Fir Bolg from escaping https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Skipper_LeGrange#Stop_the_ritual. I've recently added two more missions to my "to be auto-completed" list: * Number 6's penultimate mission (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Number_Six#Part_Four:_The_New_Champion). It's not really a "hard" mission but it does stand out against the rest of the arc. Everything up to that point goes pretty quickly. Note - before autocompleting I'll enter to click the Rikti bomb needed for the Dimensional Investigator badge. Neat factoid - obtaining this badge awards about 11% of the iXP needed for Hybrid (and Hybrid only). * Belladonna Vetrano's cave mission (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Belladonna_Vetrano_(Contact)#Recover_the_Lost_Amulet). Like the one above it's not terribly difficult but it disrupts the flow of an arc that's otherwise really quick. Note - in both cases of the above 2 contacts I'm not including the finale for difficulty comparison purposes, I'll never autocomplete these finales because I save them for my homie crew. On yet another note I don't find Black Scorpion's kill all worth using an auto-completion for. It's a small map, the mobs aren't difficult. I just do it. 2
Frozen Burn Posted yesterday at 02:50 PM Posted yesterday at 02:50 PM I don't auto complete unless bugged. I don't accept timed missions unless I know i have time to complete it. But... if we're talking missions that we hate and if there was ever one I would auto-complete, it would be the "Defeat all Clockwork" in that square towered factory outdoor mish. I think Unai gives it? Can't remember. Too many nooks and crannies for them to hide, they wander, they fly/run away - even if you methodically go through the tower, there is always a couple that escape and you have to search to find any of them before that red arrow shows up to point out where the last one is. I hate that mish with a passion. I should auto-complete, but for some reason, I drop to -1x1 and suffer through it. Why? probably because I always forget about the auto-complete option. 🤣 1
SuggestorK Posted yesterday at 03:39 PM Posted yesterday at 03:39 PM Hunt Missions in General, they are so boring. Former Player on Server: Protector, Guardian, Virtue, Liberty, Freedom, Union and Defiant (Hero Side) and part Time Infinity Justice, Pinnacle, Victory (Villain Side) Currently Reunion is the Main Server
Luminara Posted yesterday at 03:42 PM Posted yesterday at 03:42 PM Contact: "Yo, Lumi, I have a fantastic mission for you! There's a huge outdoor map where I need you to go and arrest every bad guy. All of them. Every last one." Lumi: "Let's not, and say we did." 4 Get busy living... or get busy dying. That's goddamn right.

For some reason, I often will auto complete the Protect Vanguard in Dream Doctor's arc because I just don't like it. Speaking of DD, I almost always auto complete the requirement for the itrial so that I can just finish him off as a contact and get all of DA completed.

The Trouble Posted yesterday at 05:42 PM Posted yesterday at 05:42 PM I still run the tutorial when making new heroes. I like the freebie large inspirations and seeing Outbreak is still a cool nostalgia trip, even after all these years. The thing I don't do is that final indoor mission. Coyote is probably pretty disappointed in me, and I haven't seen Flower Knight in decades... but I have a limit on tedium.
Captain Fabulous Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM The only time I skip is the defeat all in Black Scorpion's patron unlock arc. 1
Doomguide2005 Posted yesterday at 06:57 PM Posted yesterday at 06:57 PM I'm with @tidgeif it's a defeat all and I've been over the map twice or more then I'll either reset or more likely auto-complete. And if that's not an option, park and grab a different character.
Apogee Posted yesterday at 07:24 PM Posted yesterday at 07:24 PM Hatchet's last mission in Praetoria where you have to kill all PPD. By the time I get that mission I have XP turned off and already have the defeat badge so I just skip it and move on.
Biff Pow Posted yesterday at 07:46 PM Posted yesterday at 07:46 PM I auto-complete the "Complete the Dilemma Diabolique Trial" mission at the end of the Dark Astoria arcs. 1 1
AlwaysAPrice Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Not every time, but I frequently nope out of Levantera's bombs around the PTS mission. I couldn't even articulate what I find so tedious about that one but my reaction is always "ugh this shit again" when I get to it. 1 1
huang3721 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Any mission. Whenever auto-complete becomes available, I just click.
mechahamham Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago For me, if I'm not enjoying defeating every enemy on the map, I feel like there's something wrong. If you're not enjoying the core gameplay loop of 'click powers, defeat enemies in interesting ways', you're playing the wrong character or even the wrong game. So when I use autocomplete, it's almost always for a bugged mission. Then I get to the variations on 'Rescue n+1 hostages in Oranbega'. I LIKE Oranbega maps. They're interesting without having too much crap to get caught on. If I can't find all the hostages within a about 40 minutes of starting the mission, though, the part of my brain that associates with my character turns off. I quit enjoying the game. That's when I start looking for the autocomplete button.
srmalloy Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I'll autocomplete to speedrun Mender Ramiel's arc to unlock your Alpha slot. Deliver the message, jump to your base and craft a Grant Invisibility at a empowerment station, exit to Steel to talk to Positron, use your invisibility to skate to Trapdoor and take him down, then exit Ouro to FF to the Vanguard base in RWZ to talk to Lady Grey, jump back to Ouro to autocomplete beating up Hero 1, back to Lady Grey to turn that in, pick up an HVAS if I'm on a low-damage character, then back to Ouro, skate invisibly to the minotaur, take it down, watch the boring cutscene, and done.
Belazarius Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago CoT maps EURK. And like you said the usual bugued (or seemingly bugued but where you have a really well hidden area in a map) map. Taum Athe et non je ne suis pas un fruit et encore moins un thaumaturge !
SmokinIndo Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Depends on the enemy type and the mission. I'll use the mission auto-complete on any Defeat All or Escort mission with Arachnos or Longbow. One of the perks of blueside is that the majority of rescue missions don't have escorts in them. I can stealth my way through the map, kill the single mob, and complete the mission. I take stealth on all my toons so I can run through maps.

I've done this, or at least tried to. That mission to beat up Hero 1 has been a PITA on certain characters. And that mission is just too much sometimes if all I want to do is unlock my Alpha slot. But the first time I tried it, I auto-completed as soon as Ramiel gave me the mission to talk to Lady Grey, forgetting that the "Honoree" mission wasn't until after I talked to Lady Grey. Oops.

Oops. Been there, done that on Live, with my Bots/Dark MM, and that was the only time I was able to beat the mission solo. 1
rizlazz Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I typically do solo runs until the Steel Canyon missions and if I am running a non armoured type I typically use Complete on the Chernabog mission in KR. I will do the mission itself but bail when I get to him. He hits the squishy real hard (there are exceptions but not many so far)
UltraAlt Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago On 2/2/2025 at 8:39 AM, tidge said: What are some of your "Imma skip this one" missions? The ones that I end up skipping/autocompleting are missions far below a character's level. I mean like having a level 7 mission when the character is in the higher 20's or higher. I actually think I have skipped/autocompleted very few missions since I've been playing on Homecoming. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.
biostem Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The only time I've used the autocomplete feature is to skip one of the "kill all" missions in one of the initial patron arcs, so I can unlock the PPPs a bit more quickly... 1
