City Council Cipher Posted September 4, 2019 City Council Share Posted September 4, 2019 After torturing our database servers some more, I decided to generate a searchable and sort-able table of all of the powers in the game (Primary and Secondary power sets that is) along with the number and percentage of players that took them relative to the number of players that have the power set. Note that this data was pulled from level 50s only and that every variation of each power set (e.g. Scrapper and Brute's Fiery Aura) are isolated. The table can be found at https://forums.homecomingservers.com/fotm-powers/ Edit: Some powers still have shortened or internal names rather than their full names. Just search a bit and you should find what you're looking for 🙂 Enjoy! 6 7 If you need help, please submit a support request here or use /petition in-game. Got time to spare? Yoru-hime
Wow, all those desperately unloved ST Taunts. I'm honestly surprised the numbers on those and the Intangibles are as high as they are. Thanks so much for sharing this data, it's so much fun to look through.

nihilii
Interesting to see the number of people who skip kinetics Repel and superstrength Hand Clap, even though these powers are now great mitigation tools with KB-to-KD IOs. Old habits die hard. Even Bonfire only has a ~60% pick rate, and that's with AoE immobilizes suppressing KB now.
summers
Thanks Cipher! And since I can't help myself, here's a few observations I found interesting... Most desirable T9 (Primary or Secondary) These are the least skippable T9s according to how people select their powers, and I've picked those >98%. Special note to Pendulum for Battle Axe which appeared twice; once for Brutes and again for Scrappers. The least popular Blaster primary power is Scramble Thoughts, with a mere 18.61% of level 50 Blasters taking it. As per the earlier note, there are some T1 secondaries that were somehow skipped. I don't know how 100% of the Blasters don't have their T1 secondary. The least popular secondary power is Devices - Taser, which has a mere 15.03% of level 50 Blasters taking it. I wonder if the buffs will change this! Petless Masterminds... Just how many out there are skipping their T1, T2 or T3? Yoru-hime
A special shout out to the 9 Empathy Defenders without Healing Aura and the 17 without Heal Other. No one is going to pigeonhole them as "healers". Credit to them for thinking outside the box. We're not sure just WHAT they're thinking, but it's definitely outside the box. 😉 2

Yoru-hime
I find the disparities in Placate usage among the Stalker Primaries really interesting. Some Stalker sets lean on it very heavily, others are under 50%, and there's a nice spread between so it's not like it's heavily influenced by one FotM build. Confront is pretty worthless, from the looks of it. Way back in the depths of time before the proliferation of freebie ranged attacks (origin powers, veteran powers), confront could be the only ranged power available to a scrapper and was useful for pulling. Pretty sure I tried it in my build at some point back around 2005-2006. Agree it's pretty useless now. Uuniverse
Without_Pause
Highest/lowest average percent taken per primary and secondary would be interesting. Time seems to do quite well so I think it would rank rather high. Some sets are good enough to focus heavily on, and others you use it since it gives you just what you need and you can spend those slots elsewhere. Top 10 Most Fun 50s. 1. It's interesting to me because I take the ST-taunts on most of my Scrappers, just to have a good, easy power pick that can be situationally useful without any enhancement slots added. This is especially the case for weapon sets that can't use a ranged attack without forcing redraw. And by a similar token, it's surprising to me to see self-rez powers don't get taken as often, since they are also nice situational powers that aren't slot hungry. swordchucks
I love this data. Would it be possible to get filters or have it dump to a csv/excel file? Also, I'd love to see this kind of breakdown for pool powers and epic pool powers, too. I'm curious about the use (and not use) of certain pools. Like, what percentage of people at fifty have Hasten? How many bother with anything else out of the Speed pool? What about epic pools? Are there some there that are clear winners and losers?
Jon
Glad to see how few people actually go petless on Masterminds. It's such an annoyingly bad concept to build around, so clearly it's more of a joke than anything else. Also Confront is clearly a pretty useless power. Would love to see it changed. Yeah, but it IS a good indication of what should be under the rework microscope. Intangibles are almost universally viewed as worthless, as are single target taunts. Both should be reworked into something else entirely. The cottage rule was a guideline to prevent a power SET (not power!) from being changed too much. It was in fact ignored several times, most notably when Fear powers were completely changed.
