  1. So, yeah, I've been experiencing CTDs on Beta when trying to edit/play AE arcs with custom critters, or editing my own pre-existing ones. But why am I reporting this here? Because it's now ALSO happening to me on Live. I suspect it would happen to anyone who's downloaded files from the new test manifest, but there's no way to be sure without more data points. Anyway, I've submitted full bug reports, hopefully something can be done about this!
  2. Illu is a pretty unique set for controllers, capable of dealing a good amount of up-front damage and soft control/agro management. Basically, be invisible, summon Phantom Army, let them go to town while you toss out a few debuffs and attacks. The rub is that Phantom Army cannot be buffed, Spectral Terror will make mobs run away, Flash only works if you're in the middle of a group, and Phantasm will knock foes away (and out of your kill zone). You'll want a secondary that either works well with these quirks, or can work around them. For example, you can't increase PA's damage, but some secondaries CAN reduce your foes' Damage Resistance. Some secondaries have slows to prevent runners. Some have additional holds. So while Rad, Dark and Cold are your best bets, you'll also find some synergy with Trick Arrow, Traps, and Time. Buff-oriented sets like Empathy, Pain -and to a lesser degree Kin- won't be as helpful (though since both Flash and Fulcrum Shift work best in melee, there IS some synergy there!), especially solo. Basically, just avoid buff heavy sets and you'll be fine! Though if you want to make PA permanent, a set with +recharge boosts like Rad, Time or Kin become even more viable!
  3. An AE Incarnate Trial. Basically, I think he wants to be able to make content in AE suited for Incarnates where a) incarnate level shifts would apply and b) we get an incarnate reward table at the end. Of course, it's not just about rewards. Incarnate critters have higher base accuracy and defenses, some have level shifts, and some have unique powers, too. Also, maybe he wants there to be more than 8 players on a map. So yeah, there are a few things which incarnate content does differently from everything else, but otherwise I'm not sure what he really wants out of that.
  4. I just submitted a crash report related to AE, but i erroneously stated that my custom critters all have Vanguard uniforms; this is not the case for that specific arc, please disregard that line. (The crash was when trying to edit an existing arc) EDIT: I can't even edit an existing AE critter without a crash! In fact, it doesn't even show a preview of the critter when I select it on my list. I can't even move critters from one group to another; selecting a critter from the list expands the "detailed" field, but when it tries to load the critter's appearance, I get a crash to desktop. EDIT2: I can create a new critter just fine, and I can place it into an existing group when I'm editing that specific critter, and I can play a new mission with that new critter, but right now it looks like old AE critters are incompatible with whatever new backend changes you've got in store! EDIT 3: I tried to look through the crash reports I sent, see if maybe I could find a clue as to what was causing this, but I can't make heads or tails of the crash/error codes used in the crash description in the .report files, and I can't even read the .mdmp files, so... you guys are on your own, I guess!
  5. Right?! I figure someone is trolling the other marketers, and taking a small bite out of their "craft an uncommon to make a rare" money. Also, it seems as though all the demand for enhancements are lowballs. I'm trying to sell a 5m enhancement for 4.75m, with hundreds of bids, and I haven't been able to move it all week. This market is screwy (though it certainly beats everything costing billions of inf)!
  6. One thing that's made leveling up my Illu/Time a breeze is loading up Blind (and Time Stop) with damage procs. There are like 7 or 8 damage procs available, 3 of which are Purples (Apocalypse, Unbreakable Constraint, and a Catalyzed Will of the Controller) which are amazing but can't be used until level 50; But some you can start slotting them as early as level 10 (Normal WotC, Gladiator's Javelin -pvp ranged damage- Gladiator's Net -pvp hold-, and Neuronic shutdown). If you're willing to forgo a little damage, the Lockdown +2 Mag/Devastation 2 Mag hold procs are perfectly reasonable choices to ensure a 1-hit hold on a Boss. Spectral Wounds also takes a number of procs: the aforementioned Gladiator's Javelin, Devastation + hold, Apocalypse, though it's otherwise best slotted as a normal damage attack, since it's probably the beefiest attack a Controller has access to. Start with that, and things will be easy breezy 😃
  7. Well, if it's backend/behind-the-scenes work, its probably less about new parts, and more about new ways to organize existing ones and putting them together. Some examples might be asymmetrical details (Like having different gloves for each hand without having to select a robot arm), overlapping chest details (So you can have a bandolier AND a symbol, or perhaps a symbol on your chest with another small symbol on your jacket), multiple auras, etc. This is probably why existing AE arcs are crashing, because instead of a critter only having 1 chest detail, they now have 2, but one of those fields is "null" (instead of "blank") and the game can't even with that. I'd have to go look and test and see myself though.
  8. Do newspaper missions until you get the Bank heist. Wiggy should then appear on your contacts list. But, if you're too impatient for that, he's in Grandville, south west of recluse's tower (iirc). Once you've done the heist, he should intro you to Efficiency Expert Pither.
  9. The problem with the "Tip mission" characters is that they're almost never "Rogue Isle villains". They're usually Rogues or vigilantes from Paragon City. You'd have to fight them at their most villainous to get credit, if anything. So Desdemona wouldn't count at 50, because she's a full on hero at that point. But iirc, Flamebaux IS a villain at that point, but since she's not from the R.I., maybe she still doesn't count? Just spitballing, maybe someone else will have a better idea...
  10. So, I just got this toon to 50, and started planning a build based on my play experience up to this point. My main issue right now (I haven't gotten all the IOs for the build I'm about to post) is that it's a bit of an End hog, and some powers aren't as effective as I'd like them to be. It's still pretty beastly, I'm abusing damage procs in the hold powers, and most things just melt. Strangely, Distortion Field almost never activates the damage procs, but the hold proc and the "Energy font" pet (which I've removed in the posted build) do go off pretty regularly. With this in mind, DF is more just a set mule for the purple ATO set. Between Power-Boosted Farsight and a few bonuses, as well as Time's Juncture, I look like I'll be untouchable. The build below achieves perma-Hasten, perma Chronoshift, and juuuusst barely squeezes in perma PA. I'd like to get an extra second or two on that, to take into account cast times and my own less-than-stellar ability to time things and react, though. Also, I'm not sure which Alpha I should go for. I'm torn between going for endurance, recharge, buffs, or debuffs. It's all seems fairly mutually exclusive. TLDR: How can I tighten this up, and what Alpha should I take? 11. Well, there's plenty of SGs recruiting! The Legion, Paragon Defense Force, and that's just a couple posted here on the forums! And if you're ever in the mood for teaming, just queue a mission, shout out in broadcast or the LFG channel, invite anyone who responds and go nuts!
  12. ATOs are a bit flooded right now, so I'm holding off on my usual "Buy Super packs and sell shit" strat until supply goes back into the single digits. I'm outfitting a few toons and will have to start seriously marketing or dumping Merits to keep a steady cash flow so I don't go broke!
  13. I'm of the mindset (and this may be unpopular opinion) that the Epics should all be made more alike, with maybe one extra flavor thing to set them apart. Right now, some epics get their armor later than others, or their AoE earlier than others, or their utility at a different time, etc. I feel, taking Controllers for example, the epics should all be: ST attack (T1) Armor (T1) AoE Attack (T2, req's a T1) Self Buff (T2, req's a T1) "Flavor" (T3, req's 2 other powers) Right now, except for the ST attacks, all the epics are jumbled up, and some don't have an AoE or a special self-buff. You guys have the numbers, you know what powers or even entire SETS are taken or not taken. I'd look at that if you were looking to make a change! The only Epic power I don't like is World of Confusion. The radius, damage, tic rate, and confuse chance/mag/duration are all WAY too small. At least two of these need to be at least doubled, without any increase in endurance usage, for the power to be viable. The only saving grace on Live was being able to proc it out, but since procs are awful in toggles now, that's out the window. It's only real use is as a set mule, if you happen to have 5 or 6 slots available at level 50 for a power you'll never use. Either that, or replace it with a psi vortex like Pen Yin has. Sure, this gives some Controllers an extra pet when they don't need one (Ill/Dark/Psi-with-a-pet would be a zoo!), but it'd give Mind Controllers access to one, and the irony of MC being the only Controller primary without a pet, but PSI being the only epic to offer one, would be lovely!
  14. Disclaimer: It should be obvious by the lack of a colorful outline around my post that I'm not a dev or GM or anything, but I just figured I'd start a discussion where we could all spitball some badge ideas. For funsies! I'll start: Brain Drain (Defeat): No matter if he's a physicist, radiologist, biker, or quantum theorist, you've proven that you're superior to any version of Dr. Aeon, from any reality. You've defeated 50 of Dr. Aeon's temporal duplicates! Uncarnate (Achievement): Whether through ignorance or arrogance, you've tackled Cole's lieutenants head-on without help from the Well. Complete the BAF or Lambda Incarnate trials with no Incarnate abilities slotted. Big Hunter (Accolade): You've hunted the biggest and baddest; Acquire the badges for defeating Adamastor, Arachnos Dropship, Babbage, Caleb, Council WarWalker, Deathsurge, Eaochai, Ghost of Scrapyard, Jack-in-Irons, Jurassik, Kraken, Kronos Titan, Lusca, and Paladin. At Least You Have Chicken (Accomplishment): You ran off ahead and ruined the plan, didn't you? While on a full team, be the first to be defeated before a total party wipe. Now, you all share some of yours!
  15. Yes, yes they did!
  16. In my Headcanon, the "Coming storm" happened: It was the shutdown. We're "living" in a fragmented shard of reality that somehow has escaped the Battalion's notice, or an alternate reality they haven't found yet. However, the odd thing about this reality is that it's stuck in a stage of stagnation. Time doesn't really flow, which is perhaps the result of "Last Thursdayism" or something similar. Or something, idk.
  17. I also am playing a Plant/Emp, and it's fun enough, though I keep kicking myself for not rolling Plant/Nature instead, because, Hello, thematics! (Only reason I went with Emp is because I was remaking my Emp/Rad from live, but didn't feel like rolling a Defender, and wanted to keep the theme of a magical helper spirit) But over-all, I kinda agree with Red. Like, on a Defender, yeah, you're a "Healer", but your blasts are also bringing debuffs to the table. I mean, if I'm up against an AV, I'd rather have someone trying to debuff it's Res or ToHit rather than impotently trying to hold it. But, as you know, some Controller primaries also offer debuffs, like Earth or Dark. So I'd probably try one of those. Heck, Dark/Emp actually tickles me creatively, kinda like someone torn between light and shadows.
  18. Maybe Ms. Liberty could use Excalibur in the fight (I know the lore says she shouldn't be able to, but maybe the fea will let her draw it just this once as payback against the villains)? Give her some suped-up broadsword attacks in addition to her regular moveset, and maybe a level shift as well to represent her getting a taste of Incarnate power.
  19. Maybe we just need a set that increases damage and "secondary effect" which covers all the bases?
  20. I also have the proc in my female character, but never noticed this. I'll have to double check when I get a chance! [EDIT] So I looked, and yeah, sure enough, it says "his"! Other procs say "their", which would probably be better for this proc to announce, as well!
  21. I don't know why I forgot to post this in the thread I started, but....
  22. Scratch/Ganymeded can be solo'd, you just have to have the mission as the active task, and then talk to Null the Gull to change your alignment. I also entered then exited the mission first, just to be safe.
  23. All except Nemesis Event! (and Bug Hunter, but w/e)
  24. Bwah ha ha, now to protect the world from the evils of Truth and Love!
  25. I think you have to do a MORALITY mission of another alignment, which is the mission you get after doing 10 tips. But I could be wrong?
