In regards to thinking someone is stupid, I constantly run across people that were told how something works, and it either was changed, or it worked through an elaborate game of telephone to be a bit warped. And we're also getting people that played the game on live and they sorta remember some stuff which got changed on live, but after they quit. That can warp some expectations as well. It's why I often will go to the beta server to spin up some tests just to double check my memory since ~18 years of time has passed on some of this... Of course, there are some things that people do because there was one way to do things to avoid a bug and it's now fixed, but they still do it the "safe" way just in case it reappears. Which to be fair, happened on live quite a bit, most likely due to merging branches of code.

Make Contact Missions in Chronoligical Order?
lemming replied to Solarverse's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
There are a few of those. Especially as first missions from a contact. (Tina & Maria for example) After that, it's fairly random unless you have too many arcs active already. I've done the roulette wheel to get Maria's Siege mission for example. And yea, abandoning is pretty forgiving. Even if you start a mission, come out, select a different mission from your list, choose abandon pregress, then call up the contact and abandon the mission, you can call the contact back and get a different one. It's how people get the Invader badge in 20 minutes by just popping into the Mayhem map, grab the explore badge, and exit. The mission holder is usually just hanging out at Lord S' location. -
Make Contact Missions in Chronoligical Order?

You can often abandon the mission and try picking up again. It's the same method to get the police radio to give you the mission type -
One place HOs (and their Ilk) work well is for the times people turn off set bonuses for the TF. Old School Recluse for instance.

I believe you are correct. Probably can test this out for certain on Everlasting when there's the weekend Abyss Hami. Do the midnight Hami in the hive, then the Abyss Hami the next day in the afternoon, then the 7pm Hami. Should be on reduced rewards for the Abyss, but back to first run for the 7pm

Four Emp Merits or a HO for any level 50. 80 Merits for the first run of the day for a character. 40 Merits on subsequent ones. (I think the timer is 18 hours, I don't know if the timer starts then, or after the second Hami?)

Nice costume! (too bad it won't be around long)
lemming replied to cranebump's topic in General Discussion
"Useless L" should be genericed IMO, but I'm also not a GM. There is a thread where one of the GMs did discuss the reason they don't have a hard rule, but I think the generic hammer is often done in sweeps when it gets pointed out. And context matters. There's a definite line, but it's more a range than a binary. And sometimes it might take a couple reports to take action. Also, there is the chance the person changed the name back. I'm not sure how robust the reporting system is for HC or if they have a routine for checking to see if someone just changed the name back (despite the warning that should not be done) -
I suspect a lot of people just run Hami for merits. I tend to run a char thru to get some extra emp merits when they first hit 50. If not, I tend to just get the reward merits. HOs are a roulette reward. Occasionally you'll get one worth more than 40 reward merits. At least that's how I feel about it.

As someone who threw together a Energy/Dev Blaster recently as a lark, then found out it's a fun combo, I appreciate the builds guys. (I also need to brush up on my usage of JSON readers since I don't use mids...) And here's my build that works well enough for what I play them in. Tends to be more a solo or duo and great for setting up a bunch of trip mines while I make dinner... Nothing in particular chased and as long as I don't play too reckless very serviceable. blaster_energy_dev.txt

Those badges are just for Ouro, not for most task forces. Some Task Forces have Masters that do similar, but they're normally just activated by a check box.

That is an interesting question: How many characters per account do people have? Live, I had around 50 characters near the end. (multi-server) Here, I have 100 over two accounts. (the alt account has eight) and that's after I trimmed down. So, I can see there being more names claimed on HC, though that's just a thought. I do think 50s shouldn't be immune, but I like Without_Pause's idea of one saved name (per server maybe?). Though that would mean one more check in the DB, and some people might then do more accounts, just for that. I would really prefer global tied to the char name, then it wouldn't matter as much, but coding...

I think OP mentioning to the player that they would probably get generic'd was a nice thing to do. And it's not like he posted the person's global, and it's not like we can look them up, since as stated, they got a generic right away. -
My Ether Bunney, same sets, but barely slotted with sets has a 364' range with Lance

yea, communication without coffee is hard. I'll add if you look at the history (which isn't always accurate), but if you see a lot of for sale, and a bunch of bids. There's probably a bunch of lowball bids.
-
See above fee discussion from ATC. It's just a risk if all the bids are lowball bids. I normally dump my salvage at 11 inf and sometimes will see a progression of payouts going out and then cratering into the teens eventually. For enhancements, I post at a minimum that it cost me to craft at. I know a lot of people post at much lower and on average, they still pull a profit.

Vidiotmaps for Homecoming
lemming replied to AboveTheChemist's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Yep. After reinstall, still a little off kilter. And yep, knew the falling thru the map wouldn't be from that. -
Used to be a cafe, but then a bunch of speedboaters kept splashing the customers, which caused the cafe to close, but their request for help still wound up going thru with the city putting the wall in.

Have they changed Bonfire at all (or is it just me)

There are a few mobs like clockwork that get tossed due to having KB effect them more. Also, these were same level mobs? -
I'm in the "Ugh, respec" especially if it's just moving a couple slots around. And yes, that whole needing to drag the enh up to the tray if you're swapping all the generic IOs out. Though really the whole thing could be done in a cleaner fashion, but that would require some new UI design and a few things. In the meantime, bumping enhancement inventory up to 100 and the ability to just say "Shove all into inventory" would at least make it more bearable

Vidiotmaps for Homecoming
lemming replied to AboveTheChemist's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
I see an issue with the Atlas one. Founders, the map seems alright, but coming out of the Police Station dropped me under the city with /stuck not helping. That has nothing to do with the map though. I'll see what a clean install does with the vidiot maps -
https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Main_Page Gotta use the updated url. The old one is kaput

It was the early days. We hadn't even had ED, aggro limits, or regen nerfed yet. My group thought it was pretty funny at the time.

Yea, I had a kinetics defender that got refused teams often since they weren't Empathy and people didn't realize what Fulcrum and speed boosts really do.
