  1. Similar things have been asked for before and I *still* think it'd be a good idea. More sorting options (and tagging,) please!
  2. I'd say Steampunkette pretty much has it. The Stealth in Dark - as well as Energy - is there for you to get close to (or right in the middle of) your enemies before eating an alpha. In some ways it's like lightning rod or shield charge. It's letting you almost guarantee that *you'll* be the one initiating combat, not the enemy. So, basically... to me, they *are* letting you set the terms of combat. They're letting you initiate, then with the powers breaking stealth, they're letting you hold attention as melee. Now, whether having specific powers (like Entropic Aura) have a taunt aura to them is good or not - different conversation. But as far as suppression while in stealth and what breaks it... yes, some powers, definitely, but I think it'd be a power by power discussion (I wouldn't *want* CoF Or OG to suppress, I want them working right away, for instance, and would see "suppress in stealth" as a bit of a nerf to them.)
  3. Given this is one of my "I wish they'd limited it *there* to begin with" items (in the inevitable "what's breaking the game/making it too easy" threads) I'd frankly love to run with this. Just to see how big of a difference it makes. It'd likely have to be with a set group of people, but still.
  4. Looks like a concrete barrier more than a block, with the angled sides. (https://www.shutterstock.com/image-illustration/3d-illustration-simple-concrete-barrier-icon-441826378 ) Closest thing I can figure. (Can't really think of any that throw me, so if someone wants to volunteer one...)
  5. Yes, but do you know where that blue hand has been? You know what happens with the guards at the hazard zone entrances...
  6. RP. If you're flying through missions, you're probably also talking, reacting and having fun. If you're struggling, you're reacting to *that* with others, too. Mechanically? *shrug* I don't worry about uberbuilds, so...
  7. ... well, technically they *do* have a chance of getting mezzed - if enough is stacked on them. (As I"m recalling, Ghost Widow used to be huge for this vs tanks. Mag100 hold, wasn't it?)
  8. The same trinity that is completely irrelevant in COH, you mean? The game that doesn't need a "holy trinity" (or any other combination, for that matter) for people to play perfectly fine? And no, that is not what "roleplaying" is generally accepted to mean, no matter how much you want to hold on to that. Those same games had you playing a role in the sense of an actor in a story, not "you give these numbers, you give these numbers." That was the *point.* And still is. Roleplaying goes *way* back. Kids playing cops and robbers, or dressing up? Guess what they're doing. Rudimentary role playing. The tabletop RPGs? What's the point of them? "You walk into a tavern..." and begin to *tell a story* with your characters... IE, roleplay. Edit: For that matter, I can roll up a fighter (the "role" you want to emphasize being the point) ... and never fight for tens, hundreds of roleplay sessions, instead using, say, my character's knowledge of an area, or their family's name and influence to help (or hinder) people, or their wealth, or their charisma (that has nothing to do with swinging a sword or holding a shield.) By your definition, I'm not "role playing" and am RPGing wrong. I'm not doing "my role." The adventure, in fact, has no "role" for me. Yet, I'm fairly sure every other roleplayer on earth would disagree with you, whether they're doing so with a group over mail, sitting around a table rolling dice and eating doritos, or playing a video game.
  9. And they just put "playing" there because it's a game and you're supposed to play it, I suppose... not because *roleplaying,* in the sense of the forum section I just put there, was ever a thing dating back before and inspiring *roleplaying* video games. I suppose we're lucky they put "game" in there so we knew that's what it was and didn't confuse it with an awkward spreadsheet and wondered why we couldn't balance a checkbook on it. Again, no.
  10. Ummm.... *looks down to the RolePlaying section* ... no.
  11. It should be noted that even those *with* mez protection can have it broken, either by loss of END, click mez protection not overlapping (usually only an early level issue, though I suppose enough slows could do it,) or getting enough mezzes stacked (rare-ish, granted - I'm thinking MSRs with a bunch of stuns happening to hit the same time as the most common example.) So it wouldn't *necessarily* be a waste, even for those with built in mez protection, its use would just be really rare.
  12. They can solo, too. Ask my Earth/FF controller. It's not fast, but they can solo just fine.
  13. That solely refers to the fact it's a game with a shared persistent world multiple people play in at the same time. (As opposed to something like Diablo.) That does not mean "Team or you're doing it wrong." "Right" build? Which build is the "right" build? Every AT can solo with every combination. You don't need to "build" a specific way. Yes, some take longer. But the majority of content here can be soloed without doing anything special. The only time you get into "builds" is soloing content that actually WAS designed for teams (IE, task/strike forces) that were later opened up for soloists, and even some of that doesn't really require anything special in a build (such as Posi 1.)
  14. I don't know about having *every* power do this... but we already do have one "mez doesn't completely affect me" mechanic. Blasters, after all, can still fire their primary T1 and T2, as well as secondary T1, while mezzed. If it were just those on the other ATs? Sure.
  15. Just had this happen as well.
  16. Which makes sense if the set bonuses themselves are what's being disabled. So something like the Command of the Mastermind set would still give you the +Defense pet aura (since it's part of one of the enhancements,) but not the damage, recharge or health boosts (the set bonuses for 2, 3 or 4 pieces.)
  17. Depends on what's going on with the NPCs. Not all the NPC pieces, as I'm given to understand, are the same as our costume pieces (basically folded, mangled and twisted for a specific fit and look on an NPC.) Some are, some just don't translate. (I'll let someone who has more familiarity with them describe it - I think @Flashtoo may have been the person I'm thinking of with a better explanation.)
  18. Rgh. No thanks. Most of the Striga arcs (and the Kheld arcs that take place there) wouldn't make sense in Boomtown.
  19. Costume options I *believe* is going to depend *mostly* on what might be able to be ported. The rest... probably depends on what tools the team has / can get to work and time they can spend on it. I know some modders can replace textures, so getting the game to recognize them and display them isn't an issue, but adding them in "officially" to the game may be a bigger project, so... (All that said, I'm all for more options. Just not holding my breath on anything "really new and original" getting added any time soon.)
  20. *Makes alt. Mark the Rescuer.* And we know there's at least a little tech to "mark" someone (Maelstrom's "marked for death,") but I have no idea how difficult it would be to give that to a non-combat NPC. (Assuming it's "just another power" for a fighting NPC. Might be a different mechanic entirely.)
  21. You're talking to someone who's an advocate of second and third builds. Have been since live. I know *perfectly well* how easy or hard they are to do. This is an *option* for something people may want to do *once in a while.* And so would not want or need an entire other build for it. I don't know why this is so hard to grasp.
  22. While looking for something else, I ran across this snippet I saved (probably from live conversations on the same topic.) ] Yeah, I know, "that dev team is not this dev team," but this dev team is also volunteer and doesn't have the tools - and I can't imagine the animations and such (which seem to be the *big* timesink on this from these comments) would be any easier now. (Not really for or against - like I said, searching for something else and ran across this.)
  23. Because this might be an occasional "this would be fun" experience that doesn't require an entire second build. Not sure why you need that explained.
