  1. A, I really don't like Diablo III and the less in this game that's like that, the better. B, I'd much rather have control over my self-rez than have it automatically fire off, thanks. C, everyone seems to have something they decide is "the most useless power in the game," so do try to state it as opinion, not fact.
  2. *shrug* THere's nothing unplayable. If you want to play it, play it. You're not forced to take an XP booster. You're not forced to do alignment changes via Null instead of running the missions. As far as grinding specific content for costume pieces instead of having them at creation, or for Incarnate salvage, that being gone is a *huge* improvement. Play what you want, how you want. You don't "lose" if someone else fire-farms on 2xp to 50 in an hour or whatever. You don't "win" by taking 500 hours to do the same journey. You *win* by having the game available to play the way you want. The game gives you *choice,* not grind. This is not a bad thing.
  3. The negative side of that is for each bump up, they go *down* one level. (Part of why I find MMs such a *slog* from 18 to 24 - you have three -2 pets, one -1, and they die so easily...)
  4. Edit: - BB thinks TPKing is "good storytelling" and "good RP." - Heavy handed and pushes opinion on sides being the "right" or "wrong" one to play. Yep. Know just how to consider his opinion now (reinforced by multiple wordy posts on other subjects.) Which is "not at all."
  5. "Good guy with problems" or "good guy making some bad decisions." If I remember the mission correctly, it was basically "I'm getting old and can't keep up, I thought this would help me keep an edge."
  6. It means you have an active mission in that zone. Check your mission tab.
  7. Running that now, myself. Also noticing it's just showing me with 6 merits earned. Between explores, GMs and such I have 45... Edit : (And yep, not counting any of the 20 from SSA 1. Still just shows 6.)
  8. Random Skull chatter in king's row (possibly elsewhere.) [NPC] Gravedigger Assailant: That sweet sterio is as good as mine. Should be stereo.
  9. It is not anything close to "great writing." It adds nothing to the specific story or the overall narrative. If you're needing a cold shower because "yay, the villain lost," well, they do *anyway* in this arc if you know it at *all* - the obelisk shatters. Having multiple mobs show up that you have zero chance of doing anything against for an insta-kill is just not good design. Heroside, you can stick around and clean up any igneous you left behind if you want to. Villainside, no, you can't. As I said, it's nothing but a big middle finger to the player. Also, it doesn't sound like you've ever played redside to the end. And stop making assumptions about villain motivations.
  10. If dialog wouldn't fire off early, it'd be nice - there are instances where the hostage *does* have dialog, but you have no idea where it's coming from. And, frankly, there's precedent - after all, the last glowies (in theory) are supposed to show up on the map. They don't, always, but it does make the game less frustrating. Having this happen when there's one hostage left you're searching for would not be new and it wouldn't hurt. This is not a matter of "making the game too easy," but making it less *frustrating.* I'm sure we've all gone through multi level maps multiple times just to find the last hostage tucked behind a hard to see stairwell. This isn't fun, this isn't proof of how l337 you are, it's an annoyance. It's not a question of game knowledge or mechanics, and there's no skill to learn. This is simply "did something spawn in a really annoying, hard to find area."
  11. Very little of anything in the comics is in the game, mission/lore wise. And some of us do care very much about the COH lore. That said, from context, I'd say Switchfade was talking "the source material" as in comics in general.
  12. So. I like running the first SSA. It's quick, on either side, nets a nice number of merits, any character can do it. There are differences between the hero and villain sides, though. Mission 1 - you can get away with no combat at all redside. Blue, you have to fight the mage. You get the choice. Mission 2 - PPD and Igneous, but generally it's all window dressing. Three clicks and a quick fight. So far so good. Mission 3 - Heroside, you fight Lemkin with some of Synapse's powers, two Igneous minions. Echidna and two random COT (at base settings, solo.) Not that hard. Villainside, you *get* Synapse's powers, fight Lemkin, then fight five waves of heroes/longbow/heroes. Which, ok, fair, you didn't have to fight in the first mission at all. Both sides can be done (each) in 7-12 minutes, if you rush through it. So what am I complaining about? You are capped at level 20. You may be lower level if you're not 20+. Which for the missions themselves... no problem. But in kind of a d*ck "devs hate villains" move, at the end of the villain arc, if you don't exit *immediately,* a 35-50 Phalanx comes in to wipe you out. Nothing similar happens heroside, of course. How did I find this out? Ended the mission, got the reward, started answering a question I noticed in help, got a boulder and a few blasts to the side that insta-killed me. Now, no, debt's not a big deal, and fortunately I wasn't doing a "hardcore - death = delete" type character, but this is frankly unnecessary. It doesn't move the story forward, it doesn't add to it, it's not a challenge you can stick around to fight (remember, *you are, at most, level 20,* and they're a team of 35-50 AVs.) It's not fun, and it's not funny. A popup saying "Better get out of here, the phalanx is on the way and they're pissed" would be enough. Basically... can we just get rid of this post-mission middle finger?
  13. Don't assume. I'll regularly go there to street sweep, even aside from explore badges, and I've had RP groups use them as appropriate settings. Frankly, I find redside's *lack* of zones an issue that leads to faster burnout on that side.
  14. Ahh. Yeah. That would be a PITA. 🙂
  15. Udder Barbarian? I think I've seen that character...
  16. You know, when I read this I was reading it (the initial one I replied to, not this specific post) as a response to "so create an NPC or an option that drops *you* down to zone level.* Is that not what you were referring to with what I quoted on the opt-in bit? Or was I reading that wrong? Since if it was, I wouldn't call "just go to the trainer to be exemped down to the level" creating... pretty much anything but a menu choice, and can't really see the argument. If it *wasn't,* then I completely misread what you were saying.
  17. To be clear, a "claim all" on item type or "claim all" for everything in character items? The first, I'd be fine with. The second I could see causing problems (some things, as I recall, get activated as you claim them, so if you wanted to say "oops, I want to email that to this character instead," you couldn't.)
  18. No, they don't. We already don't. For some people the "game" is being min/maxed and running things at +4x8. For some it's PVP. (which already can exemp you and has at times *vastly* different rules.) For some it's base building. For some it's casual soloing. People already play different "games" in this world we're given. This being implemented wouldn't hurt you in the slightest.
  19. No idea how difficult it would be, but I wouldn't mind.
  20. Off the top of my head, and not just counting Solarverse's, there were icon changes/fixes, logo changes, a few costume changes, and power effect changes scattered around. Heck, look around and there's probably one that has everyone running around naked, because of course there is.
  21. Well, I was. Just polished off a reuben and some fries, so....
  22. ... but everything asked for was completed. Unless you have soemthing that needs confirming for updating?
  23. In some zones, you can kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiindasorta do that now. Go to Skyway. Talk to the contact for the first SSA. You're 20. Some stuff in zone is now kindasorta a threat for you. Don't even need to get Ouro involved. This, I think I could go for. And yeah, probably at a trainer.
