Are Defenders the equivalent of support Tanks?
Bill Z Bubba replied to Ankhammon's topic in Defender
All numbers rounded and I'm only going to work with soloing. Defender Energy Blast - 59 Corruptor Energy Blast - 68 Vigilance adds a 30% buff. Scourge actually, interestingly enough, also works out to a 30% buff over time. So, solo, the corruptor is only doing about 13% more damage on average. Huh. Defender Heal Other is 13% higher than Corruptor Heal Other. Defender debuffs appear to be 20% higher. Some buffs, both RAs for instance, are identical. At the damage cap: Max Defender EB - 59*4 = 236 Max Corruptor EB - 68*5 = 340 30% higher but we still have to add another 30% for scourge, 442 so 47% higher at the cap but how often does a solo Def or Cor hit the damage cap? My time/fire defender can get to +275.5 as per the combat monitor but that's with Aim+Gaussian CFBU, PBU, Vigilance and then there's slotting... well, ok, she hits the cap pretty often then but she's also 50 and fully tricked out. A similarly built corruptor won't have the 30% from vigilance and their buff values from Aim, BU and the like are 15% lower. I dunno.... sure seems like these two are pretty damn well balanced as is. Now that I'm looking at it.... I can only WISH the melee ATs were that well balanced. -
Just remember it was a feeble brain that created it.

I only have one staffer as well and she's a staff/bio scrapper, so no end issues, tons of absorption and I stay in both +damage forms all the time. But I also have a couple WP users. Guess what I'm tryin to say is, I ain't got nuthin for ya. But I'll try. What movement power you goin with? Edit: And I just learned I've been using staff wrong. Sort of. Form of the body for the extra resist makes sense anyway for the staff/bio so I lucked out.

Coffee table talk about Blaster primary ranged ST damage
Bill Z Bubba replied to Snarky's topic in Blaster
How do you deal with double bosses in carnie missions? Cuz two master ills rip me to shreds. 1 gives me a rough time unless I prep up with insps. -

Bill Z Bubba replied to Snarky's topic in Blaster
Probably as good a place as any to ask this: On your fully tricked out and 50 blasters, what's your sweet spot for difficulty? I seem to be doing fine with my archer at +3/x6, so no double boss spawns to over-tax my meager mez protection (status protect IO in Aimed Shot + Gymnastics) and my debuffs still function enough. And @Snarky I don't see any issues with blaster ST damage. -
Nahhh. I'd be ok with it if it meant mine were faster to lay down as well.

Access to Powers At All Levels After Acquisition
Bill Z Bubba replied to Maginary's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It wouldn't. It would, however, drastically change the lowbie game and absolutely for the worse. The game was designed to scale with level. Lowbie enemies are ridiculously weak. Allowing players access to their full loadout of powers during a Posi1, for example, would be even a stupider walk in the park than it already is with a level 50 exemplared down. -

Want fast animations? I finally respeced my long neglected archer blaster. She's insane. I'm sure once it's all said and done and I run a pylon test it'll suck ass... and I don't care. It's a constant barrage of low cast time debuffs and attacks and I love her. I've finally figured out that all it takes for me to like a blaster is a secondary with debuffs or controls. So next is my fire/nature blaster. And my fully T4ed fire/time blaster may just get deleted. But she looks like this so maybe not. ...... Edit: Now that I'm soloing again, after three awesome TFs, I'm reminded that I have to take clarion and T4 it or my new archer will suck as much as every other blaster I've played. I really fucking hate how mez works in this game. -
Access to Powers At All Levels After Acquisition

As one that enjoys soloin TFC badge after I've dinged 50 and gotten fully slotted out, I'm gonna vote a big no to the suggestion. -
How do players handle the all the Inactive characters?
Bill Z Bubba replied to Palehood's topic in General Discussion
The inactive flag is not something I ever consider. I got curious as to why that may be so I went and looked and found that out of 60 characters, I have 0 that someone could take a name from. I have none in the 1st range, one in the second range at 32 days that I planned to delete anyway, a bunch under 50 but the longest logged off is a lvl 45 with 130 days. So, it appears I deal with the inactive flag by deleting characters I don't play at least semi-regularly or have gotten to 50. -
Very glad to see all the mentions of making mastermind pets even level to the player. It may force a downgrade to their damage output to compensate but I'd be surprised at even that. Sentinels ... yea, they need help. The inherent should allow for heavy spike damage and the APP/EPP pools are garbage and need a total rework/rebalancing (so that choosing anything but mind probe isn't a dumb choice) to include an ST immobilize. Kheldians I've covered in other threads. Powexectoggle off needs to be *MADE* to function properly. (It gets janky due to form animations.) Human toggle armors should be turned into passives that work in the forms. (Yes, that means a reduction in base values to compensate.) Human form click buffs should be made to work from the forms. Warshades are far too dependent on dead enemies and far too weak against single hard targets because of it but I've no idea how to fix that at the moment. Lastly, and they don't need it because they're weak, because they aren't weak, they need it for soloing, buffers should be able to target self and utilize their buffs on themselves. Yes, that Emp defender should be able to clear mind on self. If they can spam the powers on a duo partner, how would it be overpowered on one's self?

I could ramble on for days regarding the differences between SR and SD. If your attack set can't be paired with shield, you go reflexes. If speed is more important than damage, you go reflexes. SR sexier, SD more brutal. Team more than you solo? SD helps others near you. Like living dangerously? SR can provide more resistance but you have to learn to love an orange\red health bar. My shield/nrg stomps the crap out of my sr/claws for AV killing but if I'm at max diff with a constant stream of aggro capped baddies attempting to turn me into a fine red paste, I prefer the SR.
-
Scrappers have a resistance hard cap of 75% and a defense hard cap of 200.38% with a defense soft cap of 45% (increasing towards the hard cap when enemy tohit buffs are in play such as the ~14% for incarnate baddies making incarnate soft cap ~59%.) What is a resistance soft cap?

Trying to min/max my son's Axe/SD scrapper - build review
Bill Z Bubba replied to MrWallace's topic in Scrapper
True Grit is showing a PrevMed End/Rec, guessin that's a misclick and you were going for Heal/End? Good question there... is <1% FC resist and a bit >3% EN resist better than the extra 63 HP you'd get if you were to slot a PrevMed Heal/Rec instead of the UG Res/End? Same on Assault with a recred instead of an endred, yea? On the end front, you could move the 2nd slot from Phalanx to Grant Cover for an LotG Def/End there, but it only saves you like .03end/sec. Although moving it to tactics for another cyto would save .06 and just making it a +5 basic endred would save you .08end/sec. You could also go with another Perf Shifter proc instead of the heal proc in Phys Perf. Got nothin else jumpin out at me. Hope he digs it! -
I will beat a M#&^F#&f#&$^# with another M#^$%#F#&#$^!
-
But they can be slowed to the point where the heal can NOT be clicked in time leading to a faceplant. The passive regen just keeps on truckin.
-
Good thing. That new tank mentioned in my sig is Mk-X Victoria.
-
Something tells me we're not talking about the same thing. If my emp/nrg def could cast clear mind on herself, that'd STOP me from dying... as much.
-
That's my take. I ain't gonna snitch, and if it's a really good job I'll tell 'em so, but I'll assume any copyrighted character is gonna get the generic at some point.
-
No. I want to go the other way and let buffers use all their powers on themselves, including mez protection.
-
Doesn't SBB cap you at a pretty low level? Quick search shows lvl 29. CoD is showing that Mag lvl of mez protection does scale with level. And if your mez has any hole at all that's being hit, it'll drop your enemy affecting toggles or if no hole, then stacking mag from the enemies will do the same.

DOH!

Agreed that warmace is just fine. I run Clobber, Jawbreaker, Shatter, repeat for ST and Clobber, Shatter, Crowd Control for AoE on my clawswarmace/bio scrapper. Could easily go S, CC, WM, repeat, I think, for AoE as well. Very enjoyable set.

Good soloist that isn't "selfish" while teaming?
Bill Z Bubba replied to biostem's topic in Archetypes
Well, yea, but especially the ones attacking my teammates first!
