  1. I've always wanted to try one, but I just . . . have pain trying to level an MM. I don't know why I always stall out on them around the 30s. I have ONE MM I ever got to 50, and that was here on HC, the MM with the wolf pets (I forget the powerset).

  4. Okay, not a usual thank you thread . . . but . . Thank you to the HC community. Reading these forums the last few days has renewed my love of the game/relieved my burnout and am playing again. ( Some of you guys are a bunch of funny Mfers!) (Also usual thanks to the HC volunteers who keep this running for us all. Had to throw that one in there.😄 )

  7. anyone have a Mids Reborn link for Rad Melee Fire Aura Brute that can farm? Had an argument the other day online about what the best farming brute is. I argued that this brute is still the best compared to spines/fire. Wanted to see what the latest version is these days for RAD/Fire.
  8. Yeah except you would probably need massive testing and expect that it would break various things wildly. But that's COH. We've come to expect the sphagetti code lol.

  10. I find most combo mechanics to be unfun. So I simply don't play those sets. I ain't here to watch rings around certain powers. I have a few I've IO'd up just to see what they play like at 50. Annnnnnnd sure enough I no longer play anything that involves combos. Also as stated some of those same sets have ridiculous animations.
  11. As you said yourself earlier we’re never going to be on the same page on difficulty for this game. Some want it harder. Some have even suggested a difficulty level that is easier than the base level. At this point I’d be fine with the original suggestion, but doubt it will ever be done.

  13. Yeah the second you make that mistake, it's super downhill from there. At that point you might as well throw out the whole database, because you will eventually run into the exact problems you explained they did.
  14. Yeah. Again, if I were HC I would not want to dive into that mess. So I don't blame them. Hell I don't think ANY of the current COH servers will EVER want to dive into that mess now that we've all seen what's under the hood. (And it's given us nightmares). All good points. Based on my 10+ years experience in IT (sound like you have way more lol) DBA are severely undervalued at pretty much any company I've worked at.

But as someone who deals with SQL on a regular basis (Lead QA Analyst) and trains others in how to use it, yeah you really need to know what you are doing as Andreah mentioned, in terms of testing if you're going to implement it on top of spaghetti code. (The city of heroes Auction House spaghetti code being the issue, not SQL). I'm NOT AT ALL shocked that HC volunteers aren't eager to jump into Paragon Studios ancient (and probably nonsensical) setup for the Auction House. So yeah not shocked a lot of the bugs reported by Yomo Kimyata came back as "working as intended". I don't blame HC one bit. 😛
  16. Yeah Acer Nitro can pretty much run 99% of the games today. COH should be no issue, since running the game pretty much just needs a potato as others have said. LOL
  17. As long as it's properly balanced I have no issue. If it's not it's just another piece of pvp content that will go unused and be a waste of dev time.
  18. Ehhh I'd rather they just put them in the PW2 store. I'm not fond of having it accessible year round.
  19. Yeah and your suggestion wouldn’t be realistic either and would not give the most bang for the buck in terms of development hours. What the devs are doing is creating a system that can be used over and over again to create more content like the one many folks like you want. To me that is a more realistic and better use of dev time. Especially with the way they are going about it. To each there own I guess.

  21. HUH? Have you read anything about the work done on the ASF or the new difficulty options. Cause if you did you would know the bolded isn't correct at all. The tech they just added MOST CERTAINLY DOES allow the devs to do just what you said they can't, with mobs having different abilities depending on which of the new difficulty options you run the ASF on. I think you need to go back and read the recent patch notes, and read up a bit in the discord channel.
  22. Unfortunately there are still far too many people who don't know how to use the market or choose not to. Merits are there but that's far slower than using the market or farming. But that's for the main game. The devs ARE building content with IOs in mind for the optional "we WILL kill" you mode that will be slowly rolling out to other TFs/SFs. 🙂
  23. Well the one consistent thing is how much of a mess the underbelly of this game is. Nice to see some things haven't changed. LOL
  24. And if they weren't balanced, I sure as hell would not. And I suspect many others wouldn't. Just saying "throw the players in" would not solve the issue that as soon as players saw the balance issue they would insta stop playing it after trying it once. And then we are back to having pvp that had limited volunteer dev time spent on it that no one plays. . . . like now. My suggestion for balance would be to only allow one of each AT on each team. (Yes I know that leaves some ATs out every time such a mission is queued. That would be part of the strategy of making a balanced team without knowing what the other team is.
