The very first character I made on HC was a Fire/Kin controller, specifically because I knew it could farm on just SO's. I've long since upgraded it to IO's and seldom play it any longer. But tonightI went looking for it...it's usually the first alt in my list of 10-12 pages of alts. It's missing. Not there. One of my newer alts is in the number one spot. I know I didn't delete it. I understand how to delete and/or rename an alt. I do it all the time. Not this one. It's "special" and I wouldn't do it. It also had a fairly unusual name so would have been hard to accidentally delete it given the name confirmation part of the process. Anyone ever have this happen? I can just send a support ticket through but thought maybe it's a common issue. I searched but didn't find an answer.

I think the new Seismic powers give you some ability to at least animate an Air Strike so….maybe?

Late to this thread, but just saw this. There are some “Top Tier” builds that will face some significant challenges if and when the PB+FS nerf goes into play. Bots/Time, one of my favorites, is a good example. Not that they can’t be still quite powerful, but that you’ll be forced to focus on some different slotting techniques and not be so free to focus on damage and proc-play.

You want a Beam Rifle/Traps….. Corruptor.

Purples have almost no value on a MM. I'll give you.....12MM inf for the lot of 'em. PM me for payment.

ITF is great, and possibly one of the best designs in MMO history
Crysis replied to oedipus_tex's topic in General Discussion
I've probably run ITF several hundred times now. It never gets old. I'm not even all that interested in the story at this point, although Cim is actually one of the few areas I've taken the time to fully understand the story and lore. Love some of the other Cim arcs (the KRAKEN!) and how parts of them weave their way into ITF as well. But honestly, it never gets old. It is hands down my favorite MMO arc/mission I've ever played. It's also great for leveling in the 45-50 range. Easy to get at least two levels at 54/x8 even fully teamed as long as its a Kill Most team. -
You already said Scorp Shield. On Just about all AT’s that one power trumps almost anything else you can get from any other epic pool. But also, the mace attacks are very proc’able. On a low dps AT like a MM, Controller etc….that’s some decent firepower.

Every once in awhile a costume I see on here gives me an idea for an alt and/or bio to build an alt. I give you Darkfire Fae, a Fire/Dark/Dark Corruptor.....inspired by your Goldskull costume! Thanks!

I think the others are doing things "because they can/must." Meaning in some cases, your spaghetti description. It's more a "I can do this, and I want to do this, and I have ability to do this so why not?" It's more of a personal fan-run server, and they enjoy the opportunity to do stuff purely for the fun of it. No harm there. But on the "must" side, lets be honest. HC doesn't have a huge population as-is for this reincarnation of the game. But from all I can tell by frequenting the other servers, they clearly have a much higher active playerbase than those others. So the other guys MUST do stuff differently to try and differentiate the experience/product and/or to draw players to them. Their functional/stylistic differences are unique points of differentiation REQUIRED to get/keep an active playerbase and hopefully allow it to grow. HC doesn't HAVE to do that because they already have the largest playerbase. So instead, they do what they believe is best to RETAIN the current playerbase size while recruiting/acquiring new players precisely because of that active playerbase. Thus we get new content, powerset proliferation, etc. Because that strategy appeals to retention AND new player acquisition at the same time. Retention in this game has always been part new content and part new powersets to create new alts to go run the old content with. Basic marketing 101 stuff really. Smaller guys compete on features. Bigger guys compete on scale and customer retention...grow the base, acquire new as you churn out the old.

Agree with @Cutter neither need the KB2KD procs. In fact, on Geyser, I've been very happy with Ragnarokx5 plus the Force Feedback +Rech proc. Take a look at Darkir's "Shivering Bite" thread to see some examples of good slotting strategies for Water attacks.

Eh, no, it's not hyperbole. Regen Issue 2 versus Regen at Live Sunset wasn't even comparable other than it still used green power activation buttons. But as I said in my original post, Regen at launch and for many issues thereafter was pretty game breaking. Well build regen players tanked Hami. Ran around with perma-MOG going, almost able to ignore all their other Regen powers. Stuff like that. Of course Fire controllers had small armies of flaming imps speedboosted also....which, again, isn't hyperbole.

Didn't read the whole thread 'cuz "LOL Regen" but as far as I'm concerned the rework of Regen is actually over in the Sentinel AT now. On a Sent, it's actually pretty decent. Wouldn't mind seeing some of these concepts scaled up a bit and applied to Scrappers/Tankers/Stalkers. It's nowhere near the ridiculous levels of game breaking mechanics it was back in the early days of Launch on Live, but it's playable and actually fairly sturdy if you can avoid -Regen powers applied against you. And when you run into -Regen, and my experience is by no means the benchmark, I tend to find most of those are ranged attacks. So doing a little around-corner pulling and/or herding actually negates most of that stuff (again...not all). I encourage you to play a /Regen Sent to get a feel for what "could be" and not compare it so much to the Regen set on Scrappers. That powerset was seriously "grudge nerfed" to oblivion, to ridiculous levels of punitive changes. I'm totally serious....at least one of the devs had a serious case of "I'll show THOSE players" and just busted it down to almost idiotic levels of gimp. Classic example of a dev throwing their emotions into a fix.

Since this is such an old game, and the AI is rather primitive and (to those of us who have played a whole bunch) highly predictable I just have learned to accept phases of "burnout" as part of the experience. I suffered from it on Live also. Sometimes, after 'perfecting' a build/character and the Devs would spring another Regen nerf, or ED or Global Defense Nerf, I'd get frustrated at having to RELEARN how to optimize my builds again. For awhile, after the IO system launched, I was really pissed grinding for salvage and recipe drops had come to this game. At one point I had 3 paid subs and I'd let two lapse while keeping one active, then come blazing back for three subs again to multibox. Truthfully, I thought I would burn out on Homecoming pretty fast but I'm still here a couple years after it launched. I find I play far fewer hours on this game than others. VR gets a lot of my time these days (Beat Saber addict) as does modern FPS games like Tarkov, or even replaying Assassin's Creed or Witcher on the PC. I travel a bunch for work and have a really good gaming laptop with an ultrafast/small external SSD for having many games ready to play when I've downtime in a hotel room for weeks at a time. But just like my CS:GO or Day of Defeat clans who I've been playing with for over 20 years, I've reconnected with some old buds from Live days. They really are more why I keep playing than the game itself. Occasionally, I'll get a bee in my bonnet for an alt that I've been inspired to build, often from a costume I've seen on TV or Film. So I'll jump on, make a costume, make the toon and then just park it in my "library" until I get around to AFK powerfarming it up to the upper level 20's or even lvl 32....only takes an hour or so to do that. Then it will sit there unleveled and unslotted until I decide to go back in and get it ready for play. Many I delete. Some I keep. Very few I take to 50. Fewer still I T4 Incarnate. But I guess I have about 45 T4'd 50's and I still have maybe another 40 I can see playing to that level. Same content, obviously, but the play experience is different given the diversity of powersets and build options. My advice for burnout, having been there, is just accept it as a cycle. You no longer have paid subs so it's fine if you walk away for a week or a month. Just check in now and then, or just play the "forum games" of theorycrafting builds and/or looking for people who are wrong on the internet about the value of....well....Burnout. Which we all know is secretly the most powerful pool power in the game!

We have no idea. HC has been fairly silent on the matter. HC has allowed customization (to a degree) for Illusion pets, so I suppose anything is possible. But for now, if you want that feature, you'll have to look to one of the other server communities. I have played on those and frankly the playerbase is so pitifully low that I pretty much -only- create MM characters over there as I am almost always forced to solo. The novelty of customized henchmen wears off pretty quickly when I realize I have almost nobody to, well, show off my creativity to during play sessions.

I'm one of the fans of Razer Blade Stealth laptops, because I travel extensively for a living and need a small, but powerful, gaming laptop. Not just for COH, which they can all handle very well, but for current release AAA titles as well. I also tend to run an Oculus Quest 2 via Link cable off of my laptops when I'm going to be on assignment for a couple/few weeks straight. While I've got a top end rig with 3070 in it currently, all of them for the past few years have run COH just fine, even multiple sessions in windowed mode. Some folks have had bad luck with Razer products but for me it's hard to beat the small/light form factor mixed with the power. I've yet to have a single issue with mine, 5 years and running now. Love them.

Have seen several people linking to such over on Reddit, and I'm pretty sure Brigg linked once to the original (not safe for HC servers) costume files he used for the ComicCon fire farming maps, before he changed them all to user-contributed costumes. You can also surf in the Multimedia forum here on the boards and you'll find many costumes uploaded as examples, for people to help fix/enhance them or even people kind enough to make a costume for others. I'm unaware of a central repository of costumes, but I know I have well over 2000 costume files saved.

Making a Night Widow as the "B-side" of my Fort?
Crysis replied to Generator's topic in Arachnos Soldier & Widow
VEAT's are perfect for having a dual build. I did this on my Fortunata. Have both a melee-oriented primary and a heavy psychic-oriented secondary. I even have a themed bio for her "two faces," as she was almost killed in battle while training but an Arachnos mad scientist melded her surviving torso to a cybernetic body and she broke her programming, allowing her to switch her programming/powers to suit the circumstances. Mindripper....here's her two builds, borrowed heavily from @Bopper and others on forums. Most DURABLE, yes, I'd agree with that. Def not the strongest. Likely not even close to top 4-6 combo's. You want strongest MM, go Thugs/ or Demon/ Storm, both built for high recharge. Both accept the special pet aura's and Storm is just a bunch of extra pets that extra damage. High Recharge ensures neat stuff like double Gang War/Tornado/Lightning Storm. Grab Burnout and go nuts with strong damage output. Both are fairly durable henchmen also. If you'd like to try something not so END hungry as /Storm is (and all that power DEMANDS high Endurance), then take a look at Demons/ or Thugs/ Time, or even Demons/Cold. Durable, high damage and you can still slot all the aura's.
-
Absolutely this. You take it for theme and that's it. Otherwise, utter garbage relative to just about any other, and every other, choice you could make for a Blaster. Honestly, for a Blaster, there's little reason to choose anything other that Scorpion Shield. It's just that much better than all other choices.

What is the dumbest way the game has confused you?
Crysis replied to ninja surprise's topic in General Discussion
My first time respeccing on Live I really had no clue that you couldn't change primary/secondaries. So I kept failing respec efforts in frustration until someone (on the boards) explained it to me. After all that effort beating the Terra Volta trial I was like "Seriously?!?!?! I'm still stuck with these two powersets?!?!" Then, of course, I contracted Altitis. -
Not my most potent Blaster, but def the one I have the most fun with. If I could choose -JUST ONE- and it had to stop leveling at 47, it would be a Stalker or Scrapper. Specifically, an Elec/Shield version of either. By 47 you really have everything you need to solo almost any content (some AV's may cause challenges) and any epic choices are just gravy.

Stalker Hide Power - Bug with the decimal point for the "AOE Defense"
Crysis replied to Lt Kira's topic in Bug Reports
If you hang out on the Stalker forums and observe the builds by new players, they almost always assume Hide's defense is "always on," when in fact it's only on outside of combat. I always ensure I'm looking at Stalker defenses during combat, which you can toggle on and off in MIDS settings. You can see this effect yourself in-game. Just wander up to any spawn with your combat attributes window showing like you did for the screenshot and then attack something. AoE Defense drops dramatically once Hide is broken. -

Someone posted a "gimmick" build some time ago for Thugs/Time that included Cross-Punch in there. I modified it slightly and have a ton of fun with this MM as he basically just puts himself on Follow for the Bruiser and adds to the beat-down with Cross Punch, Kick and Boxing. If you tend to use Amplifiers (I do since I have so many from Winter Packs), then easily Softcapped S/L/M and high S/L resists aids survivability, and it's crazy high recharge plus Burnout as well.
