Gaussian's Fire-Control - A long-suffered question.
AboveTheChemist replied to Lines's topic in General Discussion
Yep! Like this: (and GM Aurarius posted their own photo in the meantime) Sudden acceleration is the one I wonder about. I have stared at that icon for hours trying to figure out what it is. -
Would something like this be of interest to anyone?
AboveTheChemist replied to Bopper's topic in General Discussion
I like it! -
I agree, it would be great to be able to monitor character location. In the meantime, there is another option that works reasonably well. The '/showfps 3' command will bring up a large display of the x, z, y coordinates of your camera. It's not an exact character location, but as long as you don't have the camera zoomed way out, it gives a reasonable approximation of character location. I've found it works really well to get you close enough to badge/plaque coordinates to be able to spot them on the ground. It's been my experience that the coordinates in a zone are reported as X, Z, Y, that X increases in the positive direction as one moves WEST, and that Y increases in the positive direction as one moves SOUTH. That has been consistent in all the zones that I have checked, but I have definitely not checked every zone. The old printable versions of the VidiotMaps maps do have coordinate indicators on them. The X and Y coordinates of the corners of the maps are labeled, and there is also a simple compass rose symbol (that is sometimes hard to see) that denotes the origin coordinates on the map. Those printable maps are linked on the individual zone pages on the Homecoming Wiki (here's Atlas Park as an example). There's an infobox in the upper right of the zone page, and at the bottom of that infobox is a link to the older VidiotMap along with a link to the newer MoreMaps4U maps that have been updated for Homecoming. Keep in mind that not all zones will have the updated MoreMaps4U maps. For zones that do, some of the info on the older VidiotMaps might out of date, but the coordinate info should still be accurate. For zones that do not have an updated MoreMaps4U map, the older VidiotMaps should still be accurate.

Perhaps it is an abandoned file that the game no longer uses, that was just left in the piggs? The mod that I made that makes the old-school 'pew' sound when entering the game uses a file (playgame.ogg) that I could not find in the Rosetta Stone file, and I have a feeling that file was probably abandoned at some point and just left in the piggs.

This was the cause of grass flickering issues I had in my base when I first built it. I resolved the issue by using smaller grass tiles that didn't overlap.

Solarverse's SFX Consolidated List of Mods

That would be great, thanks! I think it is also available via the CoH Modder tool as well, for folks that use that. -
Solarverse's SFX Consolidated List of Mods
AboveTheChemist replied to Solarverse's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Yes, I put together a mod that does this. It uses sounds already found in the game, and was intended for a female character, but it might suit your needs. -
I cross-referenced the HC wiki page with the update I completed for the emotes popmenu, and I found five emotes in the popmenu that were not on the wiki page (despair, doublefacepalm, lookup, shocked, and walkietalkie). I've added placeholders for those on the wiki page, although I still need to test them in-game and add descriptions, and I also need to check that none of those are just aliases for emotes that are already listed on the wiki. Once I've done that, the HC wiki should be as complete as I can make it at this time. Note that this does not mean it is 100% up-to-date. There may still be emotes out there of which I am unaware, so if anyone notices any missing emotes please let me know. Edit: I've now filled in the pertinent details/descriptions of the 5 emotes mentioned above that I added to the wiki.

Looks like it is actually two sounds: sound/Ogg/V_Base/MagicCalder_loop.ogg sound/Ogg/City/Sign6_Loop.ogg Silencing both of those silenced the mystic orrery in my test base.

For the newer enhancements/recipes that have been introduced with Homecoming that weren't already on the enhancement sets page (like Annihilation, Artillery, Bombardment, and the various new sets in the End Mod category), I have just designated them as Pool A drops. Is there an easy way to find out if any of them are actually Pool B, C, or D drops, aside from simply being lucky enough to have seen them drop from one of those pools? I have not yet looked through my logs but I wanted to check in case there was an easier way to tell that didn't involve chat log sleuthing.

merit cost info on enhancement pages
AboveTheChemist replied to AboveTheChemist's topic in Unofficial Homecoming Wiki's Forum
After some thought, I'll probably leave Thunderforce's edits to the merit reward template in place until I have a chance to update all the merit amounts. I plan on doing that as part of my overall overhaul of the set bonuses and related info, and that is likely to take me quite some time to complete (at least a month, and maybe more). Once I have all the merit reward amounts updated, I'll update the merit reward template to reflect that the current costs are accurate. -
tracker Badger - CoH Badge Tracker Website
AboveTheChemist replied to KeyboardKitsune's topic in Badges
Glad you got it to work! The 'one badge short' issue has come up before as well, but I don't know offhand an easy remedy for that. -
tracker Badger - CoH Badge Tracker Website
AboveTheChemist replied to KeyboardKitsune's topic in Badges
That's been a fairly common issue with the parser. Have you read and/or tried some of the remedies mentioned in the past couple of pages of this thread? -
I've been working my way through the enhancement set pages, mostly to update set bonuses where needed, as well as to create pages for missing sets and missing enhancements. I noticed that some of the enhancement pages contain historical information on merit cost. I agree that there are cases where it is important to retain historical information from pre-HC conditions, and I also know that different users have different standards for what should and should not be retained. This is a fairly typical merit cost section: I personally don't think the pre-HC merit values of these recipes/enhancements meets the threshold of information that is historically valuable. In the above case, I would propose removing the reference to alignment, astral, and empyrean merits altogether, and I would propose modifying the reward merit template so that it simply lists the current reward merit cost of the recipe. Should a user ever need the historical data, it is available via the page history and/or the paragon wiki archive. But, I thought it best to solicit other opinions before making the change myself.

I grew up near Boone, and I know exactly how you feel. The photo you posted evokes a lot of good memories. My background was one of the standard ones that came with Win10 that I never bothered to change, and this thread inspired me to dig around to find something more interesting:

Fixed: Page Properties missing
AboveTheChemist replied to Aberrant's topic in Unofficial Homecoming Wiki's Forum
Good eye, I am seeing the same thing as well. -
I remember doing one (last fall probably) called 'Bads in the City' that came well recommended, and had good luck with it. I don't remember who made it, but I think they had several different variations that all started with 'Bads in' so maybe search for that term in AE and see what comes up. Edit: I found another called 'Tunnel Witches' mentioned in this thread, but have no personal experience with it.

can't access my user page
AboveTheChemist replied to AboveTheChemist's topic in Unofficial Homecoming Wiki's Forum
Ok thanks! It's not a pressing issue for me or anything, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. -
I've been trying off and on over the last day or so to access my user page on the wiki and I keep getting a 403: Forbidden error. I have tried logging out and back in to no avail. Has anyone else noticed this issue?

A Guide to Jerk Hacking on the Beta Server

I think the freebies popmenu should have an option to grant those patron arc badges (along with some others like the stat accolades). -

AboveTheChemist replied to Jimmy's topic in Open Beta Testing
Grant yourself one of the badges from the patron arcs (like Spider's Kiss) to unlock the patron pools. Not sure about the catalysts, unless you are not yet level 50. -
The unofficial Homecoming wiki Emotes page has been updated, and I know it lists at least some of the new emotes but I don't know if it is 100% up-to-date. If you go the popmenu route (via the link in GM Korvin's post), be sure to look at the update I added towards the bottom of that thread. I'll try to make some time this weekend to look into the HC wiki page to bring it totally up-to-date.

My wife and I finished it last week and are also having withdrawals. I have already suggested a re-watch, and I imagine I would get a lot out of that since I am familiar with the characters now and don't have to wait so long between seasons. The ending was great. It will always hold a place among my favorite shows.

You can use the /get_global_name command to find their global name and send them an email. That might be more effective, especially if the person is not a frequent forum user.

Born in Battle missing progress in badge window
AboveTheChemist replied to ZorkNemesis's topic in Bug Reports
I have no idea if this is related to the issue, but I thought it a bit strange that while the Born in Battle badge lists a total of 7 badges required for completion, the progress bar and the percent complete value increment in values of 1/8 (which is equal to 12.5%). I suspected it might have to do with the fact that the badge for enduring 1 million points of damage is technically two mutually exclusive badges, one for Primal orgin (Adamant/Ironman/Ironwoman), and one for Praetorian origin (Laughs it Off). I tested it on the beta server and noted that awarding Ironman increments each counter (the numerical, progress bar, and percent complete values), and awarding Laughs it Off also increments each counter, EXCEPT in the case noted above when one of these two badges is the 5th badge awarded. In that case, the behavior was as noted in my post immediately above. So, I am not sure if the 1/8 increment anomaly is related to the numerical count issue mentioned above, but I thought it worth mentioning. Again I have screenshots if those would be helpful. I also checked another accolade (High Pain Threshold) that both requires a total of 7 badges AND has one requirement that is actually two mutually exclusive badges for Primal origin (The Unbroken Spirit) and Praetorian origin (Undaunted). In that case, the progress bar and the percent complete value increment in values of 1/7 (which is equal to 14.29%).
